Do region 4 dvds work on a playstation 2 or on american dvd players?Im looking to buy The Stepfather on dvd and they only make it on region 4.

Considering every DVD player in the US is region 1, no. You can hack your DVD player though to be region free.

You could always buy the DVD, burn it to your computer and put it on either a DVD+/-R or a VCD. If you have a Dreamcast it would make things much easier since they play VCDs out of the box, no modding required.

I got excited when I saw that list, then I found my DVD player on it and the hack is incomplete. It figures, I come so close to being able to watched Spaced then it is once again taken away from me.

Find one around the same model number, typically the same. My current DVD player isn't on a list but I used one somewhat similar model wise or looked for a very common code. Also it IS easy to hack a PS2 if you have a bit of extra money and know what you're looking for. Especially if you want to play foreign games. |

I just meant it's not as easy as pressing a few buttons on your remote. I've hacked like 7 DVD players so far, even a portable one. DVD Hacks rule.
