I was just listening to the dogg pound's "new york new york" and man...kurupt was a beast in his prime. lyrically and flow wise. top 10 all time imo. Gimme a couple G's, for every MC, I knocked to his knees Verbally useless, oh you got the juice? I squeeze you juiceless The barbaric, versatile, you're no kin to me So how the you inherit my style? Now, out the clear blue sky, I can't deny Not a day goes by, don't get high, don't ask why Tonight's the night for me to rip microphones Into bits and pieces lyrical telekinesis Gets me into verbally vindictive Violent vocabulary bobs to existance Catch me in the pitch black path I sit and let the sick thought pass through my mental till I hear an instrumental And detrimental verbals get to spittin The highest in intellect, try connectin with the written Now they faced with the forbidden, vocally chosen To explore new terrain, then remain unseen, throughout the war Dips like a low-low, with my verbal fo'-fo' The cocoa complexion MC with the slow flow Fo sho', I takes it to you from the do' Mother er, mentally I go hardco' (you know!) I disconnect ya, Kurupter, MC to vocally bore your whole molecular, structure Catastrophic, mystic as Mixelplix Hittin MC's like picks the deadliest lyricist We live... tonight I serve two thousand MC's We live... cause can't none with the DPG'z any kurupt fans here? the dogg pound was hot up until kurupt and daz started beefing. and now that they reconciled, they have dropped some more hot songs but its just not the same.

Can't beat Atmosphere, Beastie Boys, Sage Francis, or Doseone(or any of the anticon). Gangsta rap really has no appeal to me and I don't see it being good at all. The lyrics are pretty simple in terms of rhyming and aren't that creative. They typically either dis someone, hype themselves, talk about gettin high, drunk, partying, or girls. Nothing different. None of them will ever beat NWA. They're the only gangsta rappers that really matter.

Please never put Atmosphere and and Beastie Boys in the same sentence. Just don't. Beastie boys help establish hip-hop in a way that probably wouldn't have been possible without them due to both their lyrical ability and the fact that they were white. But none of there songs lyrically compare to any of the true MC's of today. I like Kurupt, his old sh** is amazing but I haven't gotten into anything from him in awhile. Daz always seemed like the weakest of DPG, just my opinion. Never liked his flow, lyrics, voice, anything. But that verse by Kurupt is crazy, gotta admit. Here is one of my favorite couple of verses from Jay-Z ft. Eminem-Renegade: [Eminem] Since I'm in a position to talk to these kids and they listen I ain't no politician but I'll kick it with 'em a minute Cause see they call me a menace; and if the shoe fits I'll wear it But if it don't, then y'all'll swallow the truth grin and bear it Now who's these king of these rude ludicrous lucrative lyrics Who could inherit the title, put the youth in hysterics usin his music to steer it sharin his views in his marriage But there's a huge interference - they're sayin you shouldn't hear it Maybe it's hatred I spew, maybe it's food for the spirit Maybe it's beautiful music I made for you to just cherish But I'm debated disputed hated and viewed in America as a mother in drug addict - like you didn't experiment? Now now, that's when you start to stare at who's in the mirror and see yourself as a kid again, and you get embarrased And I got nothin to do but make you look stupid as parents You in do-gooders - too bad you couldn't do good at marriage! (Ha ha!) And do you have any clue what I had to do to get here I don't think you do so stay tuned and keep your ears glued to the stereo Cause here we go - he's {*Jigga joint Jigga-chk-Jigga*} And I'm the sinister, Mr. Kiss-My-Ass it's just the [Chorus: Eminem + Jay-Z] RENEGADE! Never been afraid to say what's on my mind at, any given time of day Cause I'm a RENEGADE! Never been afraid to talk about anything (ANYTHING) anything (ANYTHING), RENEGADE! [Jay] Never been afraid to say what's on my mind at, any given time of day Cause I'm a {RENEGADE} Never been afraid to holler about anything {anything?} Anything {ANYTHING!}
[Jay-Z] I had to hustle, my back to the wall, ashy knuckles Pockets filled with a lot of lint, not a cent Gotta vent, lot of innocent of lives lost on the project bench Whatchu hollerin? Gotta pay rent, bring dollars in By the bodega, iron under my coat, feelin braver Doo-rag wrappin my waves up, pockets full of hope Do not step to me - I'm awkward, I box leftier often My pops left me an orphan, my momma wasn't home Could not stress to me I wasn't grown; 'specially on nights I brought somethin home to quiet the stomach rumblings My demeanor - thirty years my senior My childhood didn't mean much, only raisin green up Raisin my fingers to critics; raisin my head to the sky Big I did it - multi before I die (*****) No lie, just know I chose my own fate I drove by the fork in the road and went straight
[Eminem] See I'm a poet to some, a regular modern day Shakespeare Jesus Christ the King of these Latter Day Saints here To shatter the picture in which of that as they paint me as a monger of hate and Satan a scatter-brained atheist But that ain't the case, see it's a matter of taste We as a people decide if Shady's as bad as they say he is Or is he the latter - a gateway to escape? Media scapegoat, who they can be mad at today See it's easy as cake, simple as whistlin Dixie while I'm wavin the pistol at sixty Christians against me Go to war with the Mormons, take a bath with the Catholics in holy water - no wonder they try to hold me under longer I'm a motherin spiteful, DELIGHTFUL eyeful The new Ice Cube - motherers HATE to like you What did I do? (huh?) I'm just a kid from the gutter makin this butter off these bloodsuckers, cause I'm a muh'in
[Chorus - repeat 2X]

Daz is a dope emcee. No where near what kurupt is capable of, but hes dope. But his clame to faim is his production. Hes an awesome producer. His work on 2pac's "all eyez on me" cant be touched. "2 of americas most wanted" "I aint mad at cha" "ambitionz az a ridah". classic beats. renegade is also a dope track, indeed.

I mean.. Hes good. But better than my favorite rapper?
Lil Wayne, Krazy Bone, Wish Bone, Ice Cube, Xzibit, Lil Wyte.. and not to mention Tupac, Biggie, Eazy, and countless others are a lot better than Kurupt.
Im sorry man, but thats just the way it is.

wow @ some of the names you guys are listing.
look @ my name and sig, im obviously a huge bone fan, but wish bone should never be mentioned in the same breath as kurupt.
neither should people like eazy (didnt even write his own verses), dre (neither does he), wayne, lil whyte, mc ren (maybe ren, on his best day), 2pac (great rapper, no where near kurupt lyrically), or xzibit (SAS > x to the z).
The only names ive seen that I would say are in or beyond kurupts league are krayzie bone, nas, and IT

^^ my #1 fan. lol.
so when the other guy said "Im sorry man, but thats just the way it is." that was different?
its funny how everyone else can express their opinion, but im wrong when I do it.
oh, and the kurupt verse I posted > the lyrics in your sig.
theres another one.
*camron voice* ... "you mad?"
