First a little backstory,
I graduated from Drexel with a Chemical Engineering degree in June of 07. I had a job with a medium size design firm in my hometown city of Philadelphia. Well, in October they lost two contracts as a result they laid off all of the new hires (myself included). So I've been out of work for the past 4-5 months.
BUT that's all changed. I've been interviewing since I was laid off and no one really interviews and hires during the holiday season. I recently interviewed with ExxonMobil to become an engineer in their Texas refineries.
As of 5 minutes ago, I accepted the position. In addition to having great benefits and the chance to work with the biggest company in the world, the salary for this job is approximately 26k more than my last job. Now thats a nice raise!
Today's been a good day.

Thanks man. I'm a little bummed about leaving my hometown, as much as of bad rep that it gets, I love Philadelphia. But this chance doesn't come along too often. So I carpe diem'd it.
Worst case scenario, I get down there, work for a 6 months to a year, hate it and then move home with some great work experience.
