Does anyone have the iPod touch? I have the normal video iPod, but it keeps freezing on songs and I have to wait for the battery to die and then recharge it before it works again, so I am going to take it in to Best Buy and try to exchange it for the iPod touch. Is it worth it to try to do that though? I heard it is good but I don't know too much about it.
Also, do you think they will let me exchange the iPod I have for the iPod touch? I thought they might because I originally had the non-video iPod and they let me pay like, 100 dollars to upgrade to the video, so maybe it will be something along those lines for this.

Get a creative zen i have one it rules Yeah but the thing is I would be getting it in exchange for the iPod I have now, rather than having 400 dollars to spend on getting a new one.

I've been wanting one even more lately, but there's too many things above it on my wants. I'd definitely get it, though. Looks bad ass.

Instead of waiting for the battery to die, hold the middle button and menu and it resets. So no more freeze...

I just don't like the low amount of storage on the touch.

My boss has mentioned when it freezes like this, you need to dump the files and start fresh...
Just not sure i like removing 10-15 gigs of music, then wiping the iPod, and putting it back on...
I've got the same issue. I have an extended warranty through the place I bought it at, might have to bring it back.

My only gripe with the touch is the small amount of storage. I'm getting a new iPod sometime this year, as mine is nearing full and it's an old school 4th generation, and I had every intention of shelling out the money for a touch until I found out it only comes in 8 and 16 gig models.
I have 20 gigs now, and I can get 80 for $250, but I have to spend $400 just to get 16?

I have a 16gig Touch and I love it. For someone who couldn't get an iPhone because they were already locked into another contract, it definitely fills my needs. And for someone who never filled a 20 gb iPod the 16 gigs is more than enough.
And to the people who want to know why they only come in 8 and 16 gb, that would be because they are Flash based MP3 players, much like the iPod nanos have flashbased (or solid state) hard drives. The reason they don't come any bigger is because, at least currently, the largest flash based hard drive is 32 gb and even then it costs around 500 for that hard drive. Once flash based technology improves even further and they can create large capacity hard drives for a cheaper price (which will happen, just takes time) you're stuck with the 16 as the largest for now.

No buttons would work or anything, and the backlight wouldn't even go off. Do you have your reciept? No, but I have a warranty which let me replace my iPod before.

i don't think anyone "needs" so much space on their iPod. nobody really listens to every single song on it. if you do have more music than you can hold, just click the check boxes for the songs that you usually listen to and then maybe the next day check different boxes. but meh, thats just me.

The point of high storage space isn't because you're going to sit around listening to every song you have, the point is that no matter what instead of having a CD wallet or whatever in the glovebox, you'll always have your entire library without have to go through and tick away at what you want and don't want, you can just have it all whenever you hop in your car or are out of town for extended periods of time.

Question: The Touch comes with a seal on it once you open the box. Is it possible to keep that seal on it so that it doesn't gather finger prints and scratches? I was planning on doing that, and also putting it in a case, as well. I heard even the people who took the most precaution, got scratches on theres and I guess you can say that I am too worried.

It gets loads of smudges on it but I have yet to get scratches. Also the seal on the screen covers the dock port on the bottom.

The guy wouldn't let me upgrade/exchange my iPod for the touch, which sucks, but he said that I need to send in the iPod 4 times before I can get my money back and I already did like 5 times so I am gonna try again at a different Best Buy. If I can't, I am just going to send in my iPod for a new one and sell it on ebay since it will be brand new.
