You have to pay attention more. I really wouldn't suggest slacking off in college.

Slacking off in college wouldn't be the best thing to do. Having your parents money go down the drain isn't something that they would be happy about.

Well it sounds like you want to do good, and that's going to take a lot of effort, so it's really up to you. Don't forget, in college, you can choose what major you want to study, when you want to take your classes (afternoon classes means you could sleep in some/do whatever), and after class, again, do whatever it is that you want, or choose to study. At the college I go to, my Monday and Wednesday classes don't start til 2:30 in the afternoon, and Tuesday and Thursday start at 9:30 in the morning, and I have Fridays off all together. I'll be taking 5 classes this semester coming up and I'm a graphic design major. The classes that relate to graphic design are fun and interesting for the most part, but there are always classes like math, english, and science (all three usually a year's worth), but there are a lot of different types and you can choose when you want to take them.
Also, sometimes in most cases if a class is full, then you can take a class that you would take later on. I know my friend was going to take a journalism class with me, but it was fun so he chose to get his science class out of the way that he would have normally taken in his junior year, so he chose an online biology course.
it really all depends on what you make of it. college can be a lot of fun if you meet the right people, stay on top of your work, and don't keep positive. it can get overwhelming at times, but that just comes with the territory and everybody goes through it.

Go to county/community college for your first two years and get rid of all the basic classes you have to take for every major. Then at least if you mess up it's not that expensive. Then transfer to a college. If you get an associates in county, you are usually an automatic in at any state university.

College is harder because no one will hold you accountable. The teachers and the school gets paid either way so they honestly don't care if you show up for classes or not.

College is more challenging. But I met a lot of great people while I was there.

I'd highly recommend community college. I'm going to a private art school & it is costing me tons of money, but CC saved me 2 years worth of money. You can buy yourself some more time if you dont know what you want to do while you just take gen ED classes.

Heres a hint that i learned. If you go to a small high school (500 students or under) take a year to go to community college. It kind of slowly breaks you into the college life. My HS had 385 students. I went off to Univ of Tenn Chatt where my first class (which was an art class) had 351 students in it. It can be a culture shock in a way. I was so use to 1-1 interaction that once i got to college i was lost big time. I spent a semester there then came back home to a local community college which i called the 13th grade. Everything has run smoothly from there on out

Don't take out student loans. You'd end up re-paying them until you're 50. You're better off if you know what you want to do. You can probably find a company that will let you work some sort of part time or internship and will pay all or part of your tuition if you work for them after graduation

Well if you stay focused and commited you should be able to pull through but it is difficult maintaining that promise.

College is much harder than high school. Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying. I got good grades in high school without hardly trying, while in college I work my ass off and still do piss poor. Enjoy high school while you can.
