Okay, so heres my little story/rant.
Every year in JROTC, we collect items through the school, mainly teacher donations and cadet donations. Random items, anything from lightly used toys to glassware. Then we have a chinese auction for a week during lunch. This year we brought in $450ish
Now each year we take the money, and donate a portion to a local charity, and then the other portion we give to kids in the school who need it (ex: house burns down, or we know they struggle). We give it in a Walmart gift card form usually. Every year for the past years Walmart has been kind enough to donate $25 for every $50 we make.
Now this year we contacted Wal*Mart, and they said no problem with donating, they would be happy to. That was a month before the auction, and then we reconfirmed the week of.
Fast forward to today, the auction ends and we call Wal*Mart, and they say Sorry we aren't going to donate.
New policy that they can't help out organizations or something? Kind of makes me mad, we put all that work into something to help out, and a billion dollar company can't donate $200

This is why legally binding contracts exist.
If you're so offended, then tell a newspaper in your area or something. If you embarrass them publicly they'll most likely be quick enough to sort it all out.

Yeah go to the paper. That will do it. Its rude that they say you will donate something especially to a good cause and back out for no reason

They will eat this crapup, especially at this time of the year. If you embarass the, enough you might get more than $200 out of Wal-Mart in an attempt to save face.

I used to work for Wal-Mart and do again but in the distribution center. I would contact home office in Bentonville Arkansas and they will settle it surely. Sometimes just calling the store you might get ahold of someone who had no prior knowledge to what was going on so they just told you no. Call 1-800-walmart and you can get through to headquarters.
