Only answer if you aren't against tattoos
What is your opinion on them? do you like them, dislike them, like them but wouldn't have one.
I personally do like them, i mean, just because they are overdone, it doesn't mean they are bad. I admit that some do look god awful, and they rarely have a meaning, but i think that it is often quite narrow minded to think that any tattoo or body modification must have a meaning other that 'I like the way this looks'... I think its great that people get tattoos with meanings, but i don't think its stupid for people to get tattoos because they like the look or design of it... Body modifications such as piercings don't get as much of a bad opinion for not having meanings (which they did in there origin) so why should tattoos?
I kind of went away fromt the 'tribal' point, but meh, whats your opinion on them or any other tattoo without s specific meaning ?

I'm normally against Tribal tattoo's, but thats because I have yet to meet one person that has a reason for getting Tribal aside from it "looking cool". I can dig on people getting some stuff because it looks cool, my friend has a radio tower on his calf because it looks cool, but people do not get Tribal just because it looks cool, these people get Tribal tattoo's because having one makes you a warrior or a bad ass.
I know that all people that have Tribal ink do not believe this, which is way I will not slam someone for getting some right off the bat, but I highly doubt you will ever see a Tribal tattoo on me, mostly because it would have no meaning to me what so ever, and I do think that a tattoo should have some meaning to you, even if its something little it should mean something.

I don't care for the whole "it doesn't mean any thing...too many people have them....blah blah blah..." arguments. I think if the tribal tat looks absolutely bad ass... ing go for it. I'm pretty sure I will have one or more.

I don't know. They look good on some people, but overall they're just so generic. Unless you designed it yourself, I can't really say I'm too much of a fan. They're just really simple. It's like what someone would get if they wanted to get a tattoo just to have a tattoo--something that doesn't really show any story, so you could just make one up about it if someone ever asked you.

but people do not get Tribal just because it looks cool, these people get Tribal tattoo's because having one makes you a warrior or a bad ass. I have yet to meet someone who has a tribal tattoo becasue it makes you a warrior / bad ass, but yea that would make me think ti was extremely lame... But yea, i try to incorporate meaning into my tribal tattoo designs, but sometimes i make one which i just think... looks cool and i could see me having tattooed... i think that there is a danger of getting tattoos because they 'look cool' (especially tribals) because you could over do it and end up looking like Black Reigns outfit... Yea, i agree with that... even if i saw a tribal design in a parlour that i thought looked awesome, i would still never get it... i'd have to design my tribal tattoo

I hate tribal tats. It's not even the fact that they have no meaning, because people who say that all of their tattoos have some deep spiritual/personal meaning are lying, since 90% of tattoos are just rehashed ideas that people think applies to their own personal life. It's the fact that everyone has them..myself included unfortunately this basically sums up my feelings on good tattoos, tribal tattoos, and gay mirror pictures

Like everything...tribal tattoos can be done well, and they can be done horribly. Bad: Good:

Eh he's a marine. Not to stereotype, but from what I know about them, they're a very "get it off the wall" type of people when it comes to tattoos. Probably took the lunkhead a few months to put that "piece" together.

Doomrider, where did you get the designs for your tattoos? You make them yourself?

Half and half. My entire left arm (with the flowers, skulls, and females) is all based on artwork by John Dyer Baizley. I've been a fan of his for years, basically because he conveys the kind of image I've always loved, combining beauty, nature, and have a slightly morbid side. My other arm on the other hand is mainly all original. The chainsaw killer with the pig mask is all freehand, the girl with her throat hacked up is something my artist drew for me, and the face being ripped apart is actually a portrait from the end of the movie Hellraiser. Not pictured, I have the torso from the Cannibal Corpse album 'Vile', an original piece of a moth with a skull pulsating under it's skin, and a HUGE pentagram on my upper arm with a ram head acting as the upside down star.

wow that stomach tat is totally lame as well, sorry. It's a ing butterfly. Tribal tats in general are just weak IMO. HOWEVER......in the event of guys like Umaga & the Rock, those 1) have a deep meaning and 2) actually do delve into their culture. Every time I see some pasty white guy with a "tribal" I keep wanting to ask him what tribe he's from. I remember when arm bands were the biggest craze and now those things are totally gay. Sorry...I'm just picky when it comes to tats......Look at the stuff that the Undertaker has then compare it to say...Batista with his stupid "kenji" lettering and belly button tattoo. There's no comparison.

I like my thread better. And Doomrider, nice marine corp tat. Though the one decked out on your abdomen is a bit much.

Whats it matter to you and what's the difference with what he has and what The Rock and Umaga have? THERE IS NONE! Its just the fact that you are biased against Batista; its all it is!

I don't care for them because way too many people have them. I like my tattoos to be really unique. But then again, I do have a couple kanji tattoos. In my defense, I have Japanese kanji -- whereas the fad is to get Chinese kanji -- and I have a great love and appreciation of the Japanese culture, and I'm teaching myself to read and write the language. Plus I researched for months so I was 100% sure I was getting the right kanji. No tattoo's that say "I like penis" or anything like that for me.

You're better off just getting "I'm a total douche" tattooed on your arm

i think it's fine to have stuff that doesn't have any specific meaning. half of my stuff has meaning and the other half is just space filler that i thought looked cool. too many people have bought into the overly pretentious deep meaning for tats thing. there is nothing wrong with getting something just because you like it & anyone that tries to tell you why you should or shouldn't get something on your body needs to pull their head out of their ass & realize that there's more than one line of thinking regarding such matters. tattoos are all personal regardless of whether they can be linked to some major life changing event or not.
