Hopefully some of you guys have had the chance to try these items out. Anyways I am looking to get a new mp3 player. The price of the Zune is great, the touch has the web browser, which I really will not use. So from an unbiased point of view, which do you think will be the best bang for my buck? Zune 30gb: Ipod Touch 8gb:

The touch for me, it's got more feautures than the Zune, plus you're probably not going to have 30,000 songs on it, but 8,000 is a possibility.

I went to Best Buy over the weekend and tryed the touch out, And the Zune too. The touch is ALOT nicer looking, it has a clearer screen, and it is just so awesome. The Zune is OK, But I dont like the look of it, and the way it plays is weird. I like the touch better

There's no such thing as an unbiased opinion since most opinions are based on past experiences which may not be universal.
Anyways, I own a 30 GB Zune and I love it. The screen is fantastic, even for movies, and, while I never expected to, I've actually used the radio in situations when I'm tired of the music I have on there. The Zune software now supports podcasts so it's nice and easy to sync those. If you're not going to use Wi-Fi internet, it seems like the Touch would only be worthwhile because it's slimmer and because it's has a gimmicky interface, unless there's some other features for it that I don't know of. To my knowledge if the Zune doesn't support a file type, the software still does and it will automatically convert it while it syncs. Honestly, the only negative I have about the Zune is that it doesn't fit as nicely in my wallet and cell-phone filled pocket as an iPod does, but it still fits.

8 Gigs may sound like a good number, but you can eat through that fast. I started off with a 4 gig Nano, and now I've upgraded to a 30 gig Video. I ate through 4 gigs in no time, and would have eaten through 8 in a matter of days as well. The iPod touch is only good as a one-upping device, I'd go with the larger capacity unit, just for practical puproses, whether it be a Zune, Creative, or iPod.

theres no comparison man. The Zune is hands down better than the ipod touch in every aspect. For one, look at the price difference. The touch is almost $300, and your basically paying that much only because its touch screen. I never understood why you'd want a touch screen mp3 player.....2 of my friends have iphones, and those things always look like they have ridiculous amounts of fingerprints on them whenever i see them....And back to the price, that Zune is now about $100. Hm....30 gb for $100, or less than 1/3 of that space for about $300? And I guarantee you that you'll be much more impressed with the Zune's attractive interface, as opposed to the ipods very boring, generic interface.
This shouldnt even be a tough choice at all. If you wanna be "cool" like everyone and his brother, then get a touch. But if you want to be more practical, and get an mp3 player, that in my opinion, is way better without question, get the Zune.

I agree with what V V wrote, the Touch gets lots of fingerprints on it, I would know as my best friend has one.

Yeah I am getting the 80gb Zune now. I came to realize that I would rather have what I need instead of what I want. Plus 80gb for 250 isn't bad at all imo.
