So my birthday is coming up soon (January) and I want some kind of thing like a sidekick so where I can IM when I'm out. Thats all though I dont plan on talking on it or anything, just IM's. What is something like that and how much is it?

Well they have a text messaging/IM/Web Browsing plan for I believe $30+Tax each month, or you can always get the prepaid, and just use Text/IM/Web for a dollar a day.
