So, I want one. I have a Verizon phone and plan on eating my contract to purchase my new girlfriend/ Iphone, but I want to make sure its worth the 175$ contract eaten fee from Verizon and the phone/service. Convince me WF.
How is the service? How are the rates? How is the browsing and text messages? How is the reception.
Convince me.

Ok, I own an iPhone, and I would usually tell you to get one if you ever asked me before yesterday. I bought mine the day they were realeased in June, and yesterday the touch feature on the screen died. So now I have to send it to apple and pay 250 DOLLARS to get repaired. If I was you I would wait until a newer version is released.
Oh and on top of that, I also have to pay 30 dollars in order for them to send me another iPhone to use while theyre repairing mine, and I also have to go to the At &T store and get a new sim card because the sim card slot on my iPhone is deffective.
This rarely ever happens so Im told so you probably will get a good iPhone, but you never know....

A phone's a phone. Get something else. Yeah, no its not, but thanks for the help. Take the trolling elsewhere. I need actual Iphone users to tell me, I remember it was all the rage when it came out.

basically youre going to have to use your judgement call and decide if you should get it. All in all its a geat phone as long as you dont get the one like my previous one.

I'll tell you this Ralpho. You can buy a pocket PC phone with Windows Mobile for a lot less than the iPhone, and you can actually do more with them.

Although I have the Blackjack for Cingular ( same service as the iPhone) and for some reason i cant watch youtube or any videos other than ones on my memory stick. Im not sure if its my version of windows mobile or Cingular or what. But I do know you can watch videos online on an iPhone... so that makes it better than my pocket pc with windows mobile.

No I meant why have people online have to convince you to buy one? If you want one, you want one, if you don't, you don't. Because Im pretty sure more people online that he talks to have Iphones than he knows in real life that have it. Hence the question of should he buy one.

What are these pocket pc phones etc that you speak of? Isnt there one taht Verizon has? They are basically a pocket pc, with a built in phone. I had one with Sprint, and most providers have one or two. THe advantage of having windows mobil over an iphone, is that you can actually buy and install software on it, which is something you can't do on the iPhone. You can install instant messenger programs, different web browsers, all sorts of games. THey all have Mini SD Card slots too, you you can cram at least 8 gigs of music, movies, and pictures on the card, and not use the phones memory. And, it will cost you less than an iPhone, especially if you sign a 2 year contract with someone.

My work has some awesome smart phones they got through Verizon, they come with Palm of Window's OS depending on which versions you get. They got the Palm ones, which really isn't exactly desirable. If I weren't fine enough with the phone I have now, I'd consider getting one.

If you want the closest thing to the iPhone for verizon, it looks like the Verizon Wireless XV6800 is your best bet. It has the touch navigation. If that's what you want. If you don't care about the touch navigation, but want the music features, I would go with the Motorola MOTO Q™ music 9m. But you need to go into the store and try them for yourself.
The main question you need to ask is, what do you want your phone to do?

I kinda want the internet and stuff like that first and foremost, the music isnt a huge deal because I keep my phone on vibrate 100% of the time, texting is a big deal too but the pop up keyboards make me feel like a douchebag.

if you want it for the internet and texting, don't get one that doesn't have a keyboard.
