So today I had my first jam session. I was the least experienced and youngest. Everyone has been playing for at least more than a year. I have only been playing for about 4 months. So I got tips from the other guys. The people there all take lessons from the same guy including me. At the end some kid was playing and the Instructor said does any one else want to step on up? I stood up and plugged my guitar in and just started a simple but kinda heavy riff. This kid on drums followed my riff and my instructor started squealing on his guitar pretty much. I have no clue why I stood up there in front of the other people, I never do that. But it was like magic man. Everything clicked, it was amazing. So how was your first time playing with other people?

The first time I jammed with my buddies was last year. I alternated between vocals and drums, they were already a band, but wanted a second vocalist, which I became, I knew all their songs so it went well. They had a purevoulume but never added me too it because they never went on it, lol, I was on their myspace account list. But we broke up, so they deleted it. www.purevolume.com/abeautifulvengeanceThe recording, it was a hell of alot better in person.

Sorry to bump this, but reminiscing on that band has brought back some funny memories.
That band, described in my initial reply, was a train wreck in the making. The lead guitarist/vocalist's girlfriend had just died in a snowmobile accident the year before, and had buried himself in writing music. His new girlfriend was the rhythm guitarist, his best friend was the bassist, and his sister was the drummer. Absolute train wreck when he got mad at anyone, because the band would essentially cease to exist. I quit after training some new horn players, and went on to front a hardcore band before disappearing from local music until 2005.

You may, because, as I emphasized in the bolded section of my reply, it was local, and thus, no one you've ever heard of. That, and you would have been 7 or 8 at the time. But, to answer your question, the band was called Charred Remains.
