Can someone tell me what 3% of $200 is?
Or can someone answer that, and then tell me how you get a percentage of a number?
I think the answer is $6.. but I'm not sure.

Funny thing is, if you would have just put this question into Google, your answer would have come up.

Or, you could have done 200 divided by .03, which does in fact (i'm pretty sure =]) equals 6. Turning numbers into decimals always seems easier for me.

The best way to work out perecentages is to go like this:
3 __ x 200 = $6 100
That is an easier way which is simlar to what Tim said above. The 3 divided by 100 changes to a decimal perecentage and then multiplying it by the principle gets you the answer which in this case is $6.

I'm a little depressed that a 19 yr old doesn't know how to calculate percentages. Our public schools are failing us.

or the simplest way of all i learned from school.
200 divided by .03 = 6.
Any Number divided by a percentage.
if you want 50 percent then divide it by .50 or 5 percent would be .05

To the complete ing idiots who think you'll get the answer by doing 200/.03, I laugh at you.

200 divided by .03 gives you 6,666.6666667.. The easiest way to do it is 200 times (x) .03 or (3/100)
