Hey,
I just wanted to make mention of this because it certainly deserves mentioning. As of today, it has been 2 long years since a good friend/great co-worker met his untimely demise.
Aidan Lumley, who I had worked with for about two years straight, was shot & killed 2 years ago. He was only 20 years old.
Ever since I received the shocking news that this actually happened, I couldn't believe it. To this day, I still can't believe he's gone. He should still be here today.
He was a hell of a guy and such a tremendous worker. Such a hard worker and so dedicated to the task at hand. Since his tragic passing, I haven't worked with another person that was as hard of a worker as he was.
I think about him alot and I miss him greatly. And I constantly think, why did it have to be him and not me. It could very well as easily been me instead of him.
I wonder why it was his time and not mine. Why did he have to die and I didn't?? I guess I don't want to know and should just be thankful that I'm still here.
Also, I often kinda compare his death to Dino Bravo's death, believe it or not, because they are very similar and I'll point it out.
1. They were both murdered.
2. They were both shot.
I mean, Bravo was shot and Aidan could've been stabbed or a victim of a hit and run or whatever. But no, they were both shot.
3. They were both in Montreal at the time of their demise.
As big as this world is, you would hope or think that Aidan would've or could've been ANYWHERE else but in Montreal at that time, but no.
If he had been in Toronto or Mississauga or Ottawa for example, instead of being in Montreal that night, I'd say he'd probably still be here.
4. As far as I know, both of their killers are still on the loose and got away with murder. Their cases remain unsolved to this day and its likely they'll never be solved, but I always hold out hope.
I hope that I might read in the paper or see on the news or whatever that either Bravo's killer or more recently, Aidan's killer has been cought & brought to justice. But unfortunately I haven't.
For all I know, Aidan's killer could still be out there, hanging out with his buddies, having a good time, meanwhile little do they know, he shot and killed someone.
If Aidan's killer is out there and by chance is reading this, just do yourself a favor and turn yourself in. The guilt of his death will haunt you until the day you die.
Either turn yourself in or turn the gun that you used to kill him, on yourself because the world would be a better place without you. The world doesn't need people like you in it.
Anyways, I'm sorry if I said anything that may have offended anyone, but I just wanted that off my chest. If I don't get it out, it'll just eat me up inside and I'll just be regretting it later for not saying it at the time.

Rest in peace Aidan. You may be gone, but you are not forgotten.
