So last night for Thanksgiving, my family met my new g/f fr the first time. And I have to say it went better than I thought it would. I've only been seeing my g/f for the past two monthes and it hasn't been all flowers mostly due to something stupid I did. But things weren't so bad. So in the flood of Black Friday and Thanksgiving posts I decided to go another route and see how your families reacted to your significant others.

It was fine, I guess. I think my girlfriend has only seen my dad 2 or so times, never met my mom. She's more familiar with my sisters, although she hasn't seen them that much either.

It went fine for me. My mom loves her & my dad doesnt ever say much, so he was cool. I was more nervous to meet her family, as her mother, 2 uncles, & 2 cousins are cops so they tried to bully me around

I mean, no one could actually perform one on another person, no one around here, the person on the receiving end of one would just shove you away. To actually get RKO'd you have to participate. Thus, not funny. Now Stone Cold Stunner jokes, those worked for a little while. And my dad has never met any of my girlfriends, my mom treats all of my friends exactly the same, like she's known them since they were toddlers. |

I introduced my girlfriend to my parents in March, about a month after we started being together and it was fine. Her family's really dysfunctional so dinners at my house are her getaway. But then for Thanksgiving we went to my uncle's where she met all my dad's siblings and their spouses . . . that was the real test. In the kitchen was all the ladies. I had to get out. 4 conversations at once, and I couldn't hear myself think. But she stood her ground. What a trooper.
