So I’ve talked about this on here a little bit, but the last 8 months have been wild both with my health and losing my job/changing jobs, and figure/collecting definitely hit the back-burner for a bit. Well, things aren’t perfect or anything now, but I was able to pull the trigger on my first RSC order since January outside of the UE Punk, and pick up my first figures in a while, they were 4 of my all/time favorite wrestlers to boot: Elite 113 Punk, and Unrivaled 10 Cole, Copeland, and Kenny.
None of these are FOTY contenders, but I think they’re mostly solid:
Cole was what I’d expect. I love the pink & black attire (count me as one of the happy ones that this gear was shifted to the regular version, and the Owen belt looks great. I also like the “Boom” head a bit more than the first Cole AEW.
Kenny is the basic AEW Kenny we’ve gotten a few times over, but I’m really happy to get the Grand Slam 2021 gear as that Bryan/Omega match is my favorite all-time match I’ve seen in person.
Copeland is my favorite of the group. The head is meh, but the execution of the gear and tats are top-notch. Also, I love that it gets across that Copeland is a big dude. The Mattel figs were always undersized (even when allowing for the scale differences determined JW and Mattel)
Punk is exactly what I would expect. I have a sentimental attachment to this gear for both Macho reasons, as well as the Basic two-pack from 2012 was my first Mattel purchase ever and is still a MOC centerpiece of my collection, so I’m glad to have it in official Elite form. Also I got lucky, my figure doesn’t have any major QC issues or staining, which I’ve seen have been an issue for others. The hands lacking the “Drug Free” ink really sucks though.
I know this is a bit overboard for four figures that have been out for a bit, but TBH It’s good to be back in the swing of things, even a bit, and take some fig photos. Plus wanted to drop in and say hey since I haven't been around for a while.
