When both companies were still alive, competing and kicking......so no-Rock doesn't count.
1) Ric Flair 2) Hulk Hogan 3) Macho Man Randy Savage 4) Diesel/Kevin Nash 5) Giant/Big Show 6) Bret Hart 7) Sid.
When I started out to do this list and generate some chat? I had it in my head there was only 4. Bret and Giant never registered with me until I really thought about it. Also didn't realise that Giant and Bret completed the double the same month in Nov 99 just 7 days apart.....
Its an eclectic bunch really...all time greats mixed with some divisive folks.
Discuss.

Great lineup. Rock,Angle,Jericho won the WCW Title in the WWF so yeah, they wouldn't count.
Benoit won the WCW & World Title in WWE, but that wouldn't count since WCW was over by then. Same for Goldberg.
Overall a very elite group. Ultimate Warrior should have won the WCW Title at least once.

On that note, it's crazy how only 7 guys can claim this. A very special achievement.

Also took Giant the least amount of time to do at 3 years. Won 1st WCW title in 96 & WWF in 99. Nash & Sid were close with 4 years between their 1st World titles in WWF and doing the double in WCW.

This just reminds me how big Giant/Big show was. Man he was so over in WCW, he was fun to watch. When he went to WWF he was awful to watch

When he went to WWF he was awful to watch Yup after years of Vince saying WCW didn't know what to do with him? Vince hadn't a clue either. Switched face/heel 4 times in his 1st year and looked at the lights more times than his entire WCW tenure. He was WAY over exposed.

That really is an interesting list, the only wrestler on there that I do not actually like is Big Show, but to be fair I did like WCW Giant. The other six are all six wrestlers that I have enjoyed over the years.
Personal rankings of this elite few would be
Bret Hart Macho Man Randy Savage Kevin Nash Sid Hulk Hogan Ric Flair Big Show

Excellent list of superstars and studs right there!
I am a fan of all 7 of these men. All have a cool point in my fandom for wrestling.
If I was to pick in order of fave to least, it would go like this...
Kevin Nash Bret Hart Randy Savage Sid Hulk Hogan Ric Flair Big Show
Again though, all 7 would easily make a top 100 list for me if I was to name off a top 100 wrestlers I enjoyed over the years.

He technically won the WCW Title from Sid, but then left the company.

I thought of Benoit but 2 things stopped me from listing him.
1) He didn't win the WWE title.
2) He didn't do the double when both sets of company's were alive & well.

Personal opinion here but the two standouts from that list are Ric Flair and Kevin Nash. Flair because he won the WWF championship after he was WCW champ. The fact that WCW was perceived as a distant second at the time makes it a great accomplishment in my book. When you consider the likes of Harley Race and Terry Funk (albeit both were NWA rather than WCW champ) we’re nowhere near the main event in WWF let alone champion speaks volumes regarding the esteem Flair was held in. Tested as an equal from the very start.
Nash was one of the people to take WCW to the great heights they achieved. Even Hogan coming in to WCW didn’t have the level of impact Nash (and Hall) had on entry. To achieve the big one in both promotions for TAFKA Vinnie Vegas is incredible for me. Admittedly, I’m overlooking a lot concerning Nash but still an incredible achievement.
No disrespect to the others on the list but I fully expected that Hogan and Savage would capture the WCW title. In the pre NWO days, both were massive names in a relatively small promotion. No one at the time was even close to being their equal. Both won the belt later on in their WCW tenure but by then both were already a double champ. By the time Bret and Sid won the WCW title, the belt was virtually meaningless (David Arquette was champion 4 months after Bret’s second title run was vacated). That being said, all seven accomplished what 1000’s of wrestlers didn’t.
Shout out to Lex Luger who probably should have made the list, if it wasn’t for the peculiar booking in 93. But guess that’s a discussion for another thread.

Benoit came close all in the same year. One WCW title win & two visual WWF Title wins Benoit winning it twice in 2000 will always be comedy. Foley reversing it was classic.
