if that macho had been shorter, I would have have been inclined I’ve been told it will be slightly shorter (about a quarter of an inch). That still isn’t enough of a difference maker for most people I would imagine. Not that I have any significant influence but I did try to convey to him my strong belief that both lines of figures will see better sales the closer they are to the most popular lines (LJN and Hasbro).

Now or Never Edition Wrestling Giant Series Macho Man (Limited to 500) Preorder opens October 19th at 9:00 am PST. $49.99 www.latoonie.com/products/now-or-never-macho-manThey look pretty legit and rubbery. The packaging though looks excessively large. The white/silver/satin/whatever color that is really pops.

Damn, they went and did what I hoped BRGs would have done and put it in nice throwback style packaging. I am extremely tempted, that’s for sure. Still likely to pass until people start getting them in hand, make sure they follow through. But looks very good to me!

Fair play to him on getting these out. I'm not really an LJN guy but depending on who he produces then I might be interested.

Looking good! Though...i have to add, if SS'89 Macho's card is a different color than the standard blue it would've been just as easy (via a photoshop touchup) to make Macho's attire on the back of the card match the figure.

Wow that macho looks great in package. Wish BRG did something like this. Absolutely love their figures but don't care for the packaging. Their figures in a package of this style would be incredible

Purely going off realistic names who already have a retro figure available through an independent company, or have one on the way: Bulldog (singles attire, any era) Vader Gangrel (sleeveless w/ tattoos) Hayabusa Sabu Sandman I'd definitely be interested in any of those. If a guy like Bam Bam could be signed, then I'd love him in his 96-99 attires. Though I'm not sure if he'll ever be available, I think if pretty much any of the retro companies got hold of him then we'd see some of the best Bam Bam figures possible. Mattel certainly aren't doing him justice, imo.

Their figures in a package of this style would be incredible I totally agree but they gave their reasons for not wanting to months ago in the BRG thread. I don’t want to tag Matt too much because I’ve already done that a few times lately but when discussed, he specifically said “We don't want to copy what's been done to death. With the JAKKS LJN, the chalkline LJN, the Mattel coliseum collection, and the aew LJN.” and later “ We aren't doing lin style packaging. It's overkill. It's been done. We're just not. 2 companies are currently doing it lol.” After that last one, I left it alone. The resealable packaging is nice for many reasons but the LJN card art will always bring a special feel. I’m also a supporter of Retro figures staying as close to the Hasbro style of packaging as possible but my preferences aren’t for everyone and it’s the end of the day, it’s their call.

Yeah i remember matt saying that. I personally would prefer an ljn homage package because of the nostalgia factor but i know they aren't going down that road

That whole video and not a single time did he do any comparison shots of them next to a ljn which is very suspicious and likely because they are still to tall. The finished product looks really nice but i have no need for them if they are taller than ljn/big rubber guys.
I hope this is addressed and corrected!

If I ever get into this line, I’d prefer them same scale too. That said, I’d be keeping these MOC, not displaying them on a shelf next to LJNs or BRGs. So not the biggest deal to me.

I was on the fence with these but after seeing packaging I'm definitely getting both machos. Love the summerslam 89 one and I'm surprised nobody has done this look yet. Will let you know how they are. Keeping them in package though

The Andre that was shared on the Latoonie IG is 10” tall. Surely someone else will share the photo, but it looks crazy next to the LJN squatty Hogan 😵💫

I haven’t had a chance to watch it yet but here is video of that and more:
As an Andre collector, I’m thrilled to add more. However there are plans for even more than the one photo shown. My wallet may hate me!

Apart from the size, that Andre figure looks shocking.

I know he touched on Andre's packaging (I only skimmed through the video) but, at that size, why not make the packaging a callback the large sized Hogan & Piper packaging LJN made. It was still Wrestling Superstars branded.
