People rushing to go to war for a random company that popped out of nowhere and showing a custom looking figure is kind of funny. I love LJNs, never cared for Remco or Hasbro-retro style. I honestly find the notion that multiple companies are making these style figures, but only one is (correctly) making LJN style to be “kind of funny.” I'm incredibly casual with the LJN line, can you elaborate on what you mean by "who's doing them right?" Who's making the most 1:1 accurate style LJN figures right now?

They have released Matt Cardona, Brian Myers, Ax, Smash, Sgt Slaughter, Ric Flair, British Bulldogs, Macho Man, Andre The Giant, Marty Jannetty, Dusty Rhodes, Powers of Pain, Jim Duggan, Magnum TA, The Road Warriors, and a handful of more modern guys. wrestlingfiguredatabase.com/collections/major-wrestling-figure-podcast?filter.p.m.my_fields.line=Big+Rubber+Guys

It is discussed briefly on this week’s Major Pod. It’s acknowledged, Matt does the right thing and basically recuses himself to avoid the perception that he is crapping on them just because they are a competitor. He did confirm that they do in fact have the license to Macho so that part is legit. I just had another chat with AJ who confirmed the YouTube video is still coming and he gave me the okay to share other information about their plans: -They are looking to produce 24 figures in this line over the span of five years. -There are plans to do figures outside of just wrestling. -They plan to show off a sample by the end of August. -Isn’t ready to discuss the PVC material used at this time but will later on. -Figures will range from 8 to 13 inches. -Small scale figures are also being planned. More power to him, but sounds awfully ambitious for an indie that many many have not heard of since about a week ago. Even doing some googling, not much to this site. Hopefully he has solid investors or benefactors for all of this. No pressure, but has to stick the landing with Mach for any real future.

To me, Major Bendies’ Big Rubber Guys is the closest anyone has ever come to the look, size, feel and smell(!) of the original LJNs- by a long shot!

Big Rubber Guys and XOX custom Anyone here bought any XOX customs and can speak to their quality? I’ve been curious about them, like them from the pics, but the price point is a little high, especially now with the BRG collection building.

I haven't YET, but I've been eyeballing his stuff very closely for the past few months. Like you, with the advent of BRGs, XOX stuff has become a lower priority for me.

I’ve been curious about them, like them from the pics, but the price point is a little high, especially now with the BRG collection building. I have a few of the XOX customs and have had the pleasure of meeting the creator of the figures on a few occasions at toy shows. The figures are well done. They don’t feel exact like LJNs but they are very close and the paint apps are always very good. The great thing about XOX is they have the ability do characters that the other companies don’t have access to (copyrights, legends deals, etc.) If you are on the fence about getting one of their customs I would highly suggest getting one. In the past I have added one of the figures to my Etsy cart and let it set for a few days and they sent a discount code to get a few bucks off too!

I checked them out. The work looks great! But I am 100% a MIBber and the couple that I looked at had no packaging. The price points were on the high end, especially with the lack of packaging. If the figures had packaging then I would be a little more open to purchase at that higher of a price, still not likely, but at least more open to it. As is, totally slammed shut.

Yeah, XOX...LJN recreations along with making wrestlers not originally in the LJN line. Their runs are probably ridiculously low so most likely that's the reason for their prices.

One thing that does bother me about buying customs though, which they also talk about on the Major Pod, is not compensating the talent or their families.

I guess I liken it to a comic con or something where essentially unlicensed fan art is being sold as prints, shirts, toys, etc, etc on a large scale. That doesn't make it any less wrong I guess but, it is what it is.

And if that remains my only way of getting LJN style versions of Bad News Brown and The Bushwhackers, I may eventually “scratch that figure itch!” Have they done Hercules? I’m not finding him on Etsy, and really want a ring-gear version of him in this form factor.

In due time you will get properly licensed, and packaged, figures of these 2 at a reasonable price to boot! Those etsies may look great, but just bide your time!
