Can only speak for myself: Hate? Nah. Negative? Yes. Just many questions and red flags, and I stated that it sounds neat, but the jury is out. If it turns out to be legitimate then I am likely to buy, but I am not flying blind and awaiting to see what happens. For me it’s not “negative” as much as cautious. Only so much real estate (and funds) to go around. I never bought any smaller company figures until BRGs. I really like the idea of these having LJN style packaging and could imagine continuing to get BRGs to open and these to display MOC on my wall next to them. But since they are untested, I’m going to wait until someone has them in-hand before diving in head and wallet first. Cautious is a good word, which led to me coming across as negative.

I think all that there is to be said has been said already… except that I also can’t believe these are officially licensed. Why would machos estate sign off on such a piece of crap.

The hate out the gate is wild sometimes. Mitch-esqe almost. I wonder how many will crap on these due to being big ryder folks fans or being one of them themselves. Interesting if theyll cover it or go ftc on on it by considering it competition or whatever Oh ffs, no one is hating, people are rightly being skeptical...most have never heard of this individual and etailer before all this. I actually would like more companies making LJN style figures but, I'm not going to foolishly throw my money at just anyone (with not much of a track record) showing off a cool prototype & offering a preorder. But, anyway, best of luck to them. It'll be interesting to see what follows this since it looks like these are based on actual LJNs-so these could potentially be a gap filler for people's collections, more so than BRGs.

I’ve seen people buy MOTU figures from their site but I have no clue how they’ll do with their “own” line

Interesting if theyll cover it or go ftc on on it by considering it competition or whatever I'm not really an LJN guy so I don't have a dog in the race, but I do think that the Latoonie name and website looks like something you'd see on a clickbait site selling wrestling figures. It doesn't help that they're selling a very dubious looking LJN Macho Man figure in a slightly different pose. It could all be very much legit, but there's nothing wrong with being suspicious. It looks suspicious, quite frankly.

Sorry if I’m not impressed by someone scanning the ljn figure and repositioning the arm.

Sorry if I’m not impressed by someone scanning the ljn figure and repositioning the arm. You think that's a render? I thought it might've been at first(basically, they scanned the figure and rigged it to an armature to move the arms) but I'm thinking it's a tangible piece that was photographed, with some possible PS clone brush touchups to hide the seams.

Not necessarily a render; could be a 3D scanned LJN, remodelled in Blender or some other 3D software, 3D printed (probably in resin for the cleanest result), then made a mould from the 3D printed figure.

Nah. I think they scanned it, repositioned the arm and printed it. Once you have the 3D data it would take all of 10 minutes to change the position of the arm in any digital sculpting software. Then he printed and painted it. Or printed it, made a mold, casted it in rubber and then painted it. My point is that the least amount of artistic talent and technical skill imaginable is what went into creating what we see in that picture.

People rushing to go to war for a random company that popped out of nowhere and showing a custom looking figure is kind of funny.

I honestly find the notion that multiple companies are making these style figures, but only one is (correctly) making LJN style to be “kind of funny.”

It is discussed briefly on this week’s Major Pod. It’s acknowledged, Matt does the right thing and basically recuses himself to avoid the perception that he is crapping on them just because they are a competitor. He did confirm that they do in fact have the license to Macho so that part is legit.
I just had another chat with AJ who confirmed the YouTube video is still coming and he gave me the okay to share other information about their plans:
-They are looking to produce 24 figures in this line over the span of five years. -There are plans to do figures outside of just wrestling. -They plan to show off a sample by the end of August. -Isn’t ready to discuss the PVC material used at this time but will later on. -Figures will range from 8 to 13 inches. -Small scale figures are also being planned.
