He would have wrestled Bret Hart in a throw away match, had a decent showing and Vince would have tried to make him his next Hulk Hogan...

He would have ended up like Paul Orndorff. Managed by Bobby, would do a couple heel/face turns and then end up in WCW as a jobber.

 You can take a look at Tom Magee's WWF stint and get an idea but they already had the far more charismatic version of Lex Luger in the Ultimate Warrior. |

He would have been phased out in the 90s alongside the other muscle men when the steroid scandal hit.

He would have maybe been a decent mid card guy I'd say. Nothing else really.
It all worked out fine the way it did. Luger felt like a legit star in 94.

Best case scenario he would have got a SNME against Hogan at some point and a test of strength with the Warrior.
Most likely he would have been lost in the shuffle. Way more charismatic muscle types (Warrior and Rude to name two).

Like others said, he’d have been lost among so many other charismatic and jacked stars. Maybe a “flavor of the month” feud with Hogan but nothing big. If he starts in ‘87 he’s likely cut long before the steroid scandal in ‘92.
