I'm sure that's what Mattel was banking on with the SDCC exclusive. That....is still... available funny that. It was too much for the casual Ali fan and watching that play out has been painful. I didn't get it because it had 2 alis in it. Had it been Ali and someone else I would've purchased a set. Ali is before my time so I have zero attachments to him. I'm definitely getting this set though.

I am sure most casual fans don’t even know about Mattel Creations or SDCC Exclusives so they probably didn’t even know about the figure to purchase it. The Legends 22 figure has a much better chance of being purchased by the casual fans because they may actually see it on the pegs to purchase one. Especially if they are on the side endcap display.

Well he is the greatest. I’m surprised more non fans aren’t buying them just cause they like having stuff depicting the champ of all champs. RUMBLE, young man RUMBLE lol I went to a Target yesterday, they had 5 or more of each figure from legends 22, except Ali. His figures were all gone. I guess some people are buying them. Same here at my local Targets, Ali followed by Lou Albano are typically the 1st ones gone from the shelves. He’s similar to Andre the Giant from Series 21 in that aspect, even customers who generally have little to no interest in wrestling as a whole will still buy their figures because of how iconic they are culturally

I’m a big boxing fan in addition to wrestling so getting a 6-inch Ali figure in modern style was a dream come true for me but I can see why so many collectors couldn’t care less about his UE figure, nevermind one that costed $70 and didn’t even feature another wrestler alongside him. If anything they probably should have done a 2 for 1 if him with this Gorilla Monsoon in UE form as Gorilla has only had 1 figure in the line before and that one is relatively expensive on the secondary market. Even a WM14 special guest enforcer Tyson or Antonio Inoki would have been preferable to them just making him have the alternative referee attire but I guess those guys’ likenesses are too expensive for Mattel to get a deal hammered out for at the moment

Though I do think it’ll more than likely be in as a basic similar to the Mr. T we recently got rather than as an Elite but who knows

$200 plus an extra $300 for international collectors If it fails then it'll be the collector's fault If it fails, the next one will be an All Ali four-pack. Rope a dope a dope dope dope. Ring the bell.

Am I the only one who thinks (or cares?) that Muhammad Ali’s face sculpts bear only scant resemblance to the man? I think the eyes are too narrow and cheeks too high, as if his face has been eating nine rounds of steady jabs.
As for continuation, I’m hopeful for lots of NWA and southern wrestling promotions.

2 ultimates. Now 4 elites +1 superstars. A basic or 2 as well. Oh and a retro? All in 1 year no less. Crazy stuff for a non wrestler. And still no tag team Steiners

And still no tag team Steiners Steiners are just a couple Steiners, but an Ali is forever. Going back to Steve's "answer" to the Steiners delay... He said it was because they got signed at different times thus the "big" delay. But didn't their individual figures come out just one series apart? If there was such a wide gap between the two getting signed as he implied, then they wouldn't have been released so close together. We all know the answer for the delay, just no one at Mattel wants to say it. It's okay. We get it.

I also think they were relying on the crowdfund for the new tooling and allocated all the funds they had available to other things. So probably resulted in everything getting pushed back as well until their tooling budget was replenished.
