Hey guys, first of all I would like to apologize for letting my emotions get the best of
me this past weekend. I drunk The Steiner kool aid hard and fast but I've got to learn to be patient. I'm sure once we see them at Comic Con the wait will be worth it!! My buddy took me out to lunch before work to celebrate Cody securing Hogan's record and he made several good points about the reveals this weekend.
1 Wrestlemania 8 Hulk. This has been our second biggest want after 1990 1991 Hogan and it looks incredible. Can't wait to see it Mint On Card
2 The Legend Series as a whole-Big Bubba Rogers, Real American Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Big Van Vader with the old WCW Belt!! Awesome. My only minor gripe is that the chase Farooq seems like a missed opportunity for a chase Ron Simmons which we all would hope to see. Also, if you go down the Simmons route, you could lose the jacket thus freeing up more room in the budget for an American Flag for Wrestlemania 8 Hogan but like I said, it's not that big of a deal and I'm sure we will see WCW Simmons soon.
3 Monday Night War Series 4. WOW!! This series is hitting it's stride now boys and girls!! That's just not the best DDP Mattel has ever made but one of the best FIGURES Mattel has ever made!! WOW! Also, I'm loving that Austin with the new shirt!! I know some of you guys complain about repaints and different shirts (and bandanas) but for MOC collectors like me you can't just switch them around and there is enought MOC collectors for Mattel to do stuff like this. I can't wait to see that Series 4 Austin MOC!!

WCW Simmons would require a different torso to the Nation Faarooq. I'd much rather have that chase attire...They'll rerelease the Simmons at some point down the line. I'd also take the leather jacket over a US flag, which Hogan didn't use at Mania 8 anyway.

ECW Sandman and Dudleys, Muta, Ultimate Bray circling back around, Señor MITB, jeans DDP, Headbangers, Superstars Razor, really happy with what was shown. Still a B for me. Mainly because I think we knew a lot of this stuff was coming, and I think they're still really short on FTITL people. And no Steiners. I understand they probably put a pause on Rick for a hot second, but we also didn't see a single Scott, which is criminal imo.

If I could vote for 2 As I would; 1 for the reveals themselves (so much looks great!!!) and 1 for the ultimate troll job of no Steiners (seeing the reactions/meltdowns have been amusing). You'd think Troll Drew McIntyre was running their p.r. dept.

While there was something for everyone, it was pretty lackluster overall.
Cm punk getting his own show, and they show off 5 million basics 1 basic looking elite, and a re do elite. Cm punk is not someone I care to have many of, I just want 1 ultimate. Not even a gray render shown.

Clearly legends are out of the main line ultimates. Cool.
Leave it to Bill to get his into the main line though. Stacked no less.
Lack of POC in ultimate line still glaring, let alone females.
Tag teams on Mattel creations is cool, everyone can get them.
That's about all that I remember. Or cared for to speak on.
Solid D showing. Nothing spectacular, but not their worst showing.

There were A LOT of reveals, including some that look very good- DDP, Muta, Ultimate Vader and Dusty, to name a few. I’m a very selective collector at this point though, sticking to WWF/LJN era. I’m very excited for the DiBiase/Steamboat Coliseum Collection set, but that’s honestly all I am likely to get from this year’s Mattel Mania reveals (and they were technically revealed in the Mattel event beforehand). I was really hoping for an announcement that Macho is back, and at least one of my most wanted Legends coming- One Man Gang, Hercules, Powers of Pain Barbarian, Dynamite Kid, and/or King Haku. Oh well, there’s always SDCC!

Solid B for me. Almost an A for finally getting a new Kairi. But UE Muta, Elite Tiffany, the LOW RIDER...Hell, even Shredder Roman is something I ended up loving.
I guess it really doesn't require a ton to get a B out of me. UE Kairi, Iyo, or New Day would have pushed it to A. Or Bull Nakano in any format.

I'll go with a B+. Some of the stuff they revealed was previously shown - most notably the territories line, coliseum collection line, and some of the legends. Getting the Great Muta in the line is awesome, I imagine we will be seeing quite a few figures of him. Not even seeing the renders for the Steiner's was kind of a letdown, but I'm hopeful they are still coming with some of the things Steve and Tom have said. The Legends line is doing great, I really liked the three new UE Legends they revealed, and many of the elites as well. Not a big fan of all of the greatest hit's lines, though. Love the Superstars line, they are doing a great job with these figures. Also, theman , I think you are confusing two WrestleMania's with that Hogan figure. He didn't bring a USA flag to the ring at WM8, he did that at WM7. WrestleMania 7:  WrestleMania 8:  |

On a personal level I’d give it a C. It wasnt bad by any means but it’s pretty telling when the Headbangers are probably the figures of the show. And I’m on the record of not caring about re-releases but most of the legends shown were of attires we’ve already gotten before.

I'm not sure why you listed ELITE figures already released, when my grading was about this reveal as per the topic, and the specific part you're referring to is about mainline ULTIMATES only, and I gave them praise for going all current, yet deducted points for Bill sticking his Personal Favorite into the main line ULTIMATESI didn't mention ANYTHING about main line elites.
