Hey guys & gals, I just thought it would be fun & interesting to talk about the wrestlers you have met in person & who was the best & worst of the bunch … I’d love to hear some of your stories … here’s mine so far :
Ricky Morton ( met many times, always very polite & funny … knows me by name when I see him & I have his cell phone number )
Robert Gibson ( met many times … always very polite but kinda quiet at the same time )
Jim Cornette ( very polite & by far the funniest )
Bobby Eaton ( one of the absolute nicest you could have ever met )
Dennis Condrey ( very polite )
Stan Lane ( very polite )
Jimmy Garvin ( very polite & extremely humble … would liked to have met Precious also but she wasn’t with him )
Ric Flair ( very polite … after he signed my Wcw big gold belt replica I thanked him for it, he then stuck his hand out, shook my hand & said “no no, thank you for coming” … he was very cool )
Nikita Koloff ( very polite … and strange to hear his normal voice without the Russian accent )
X-Pac ( very polite )
Tully Blanchard ( very polite )
JJ Dillon ( very polite )
Kerry Morton ( very polite )
Arn Anderson ( polite-ish but could have been better … wasn’t the most sociable at the meet & greet … I have a replica of the Nwa tag title belt & when it was my turn to meet him I greeted him by saying “good evening sir, it’s great to finally meet you” & asked him to sign the belt in a certain spot near the center plate, he looked it over & said “no, I’ll sign it here” & proceeded to autograph it at the end of the strap where it fastens together … now this wasn’t a big deal really & I was happy to get his signature & a pic with him however he was signing MY item that I had paid for him to sign so it should have been autographed where I asked him to put it … over all it was an alright experience I guess, but I don’t know if I’d meet him again )
Jimmy Valiant ( polite but was more interested in selling his merchandise, to the point of actually pushing it off on people … he called me up to his table, asked my name, proceeded to sign a personalized 8x10 that I did not ask for & then charged me $10 for it … seriously not cool at all )

New Day.
Dean Ambrose.
Apollo Crews. This was during his first NXT stint so he was fairly new. Once everyone met him, we lined back up to meet New Day. People in line were asking each other "who was that?"
Jake The Snake Roberts. He came over for an expo similar to Comic Con so people paid decent money to meet him. I saw him hanging around outside after the signing and got a photo with him for free. He's a massive unit in person.

I have only met a few and they were all positive experiences
I met Bret Hart at a book singing and he could not have been any cooler. He shook my hand, thanked me for coming and asked if I enjoyed the book. I was wearing a Toronto Raptors t-shirt and we even had a little back and forth about the state of the Raptors which was awesome. Before the signing some big muscle security dude came down the line and said that he was singing the book and nothing else so do not ask for anything else signed. I had in my pocket a 1995 Bret Hart trading card and I was going to just ask him to sign it after I got my book signed and I have no doubt in my mind that he would have done it. However, he was so cool that I did not want to put him in that position.
Batista was doing a singing at the HMV before a house show and while the interaction was short, he was polite, gave me a fist bump, said cool when I asked him to sign my WrestleMania 21 promo and thanked me for coming. It was over in under a minute, but he could not have handled the short interaction any better.
Mick Foley was the other guy I met, he was only singing his Tietam Brown book which was a shame as I would have loved to have gotten his first book signed. He was in a great mood, laughing, fist-bumping people and he seemed to be having a great time. my attire once again got a little interaction, I was wearing a Guns n Roses t-shirt and he made a comment about it and I asked him if he had heard Velvet Revolver (this was shortly after they came onto the scene) he said no and I said he should check then out, he said thanks and he would.... I doubt he did, but it was a cool interaction.
Those are the only three wrestler signings I have been to over the years and they were all great experiences. I still have my signed books and the WrestleMania 21 promo. I also have a picture of me chatting to Bret and a picture of Batista from the event. Unfortunatly, when I met Mick Foley, this was pre awesome camera phone so I never managed to get a photo of the event.

Lilian Garcia and D-Von Dudley were extremely nice. Bubba Dudley and Coach were jerks.
I've also met Shelton Benjamin, Charlie Haas, Earl Hebner and AJ Styles.

Mick Foley, Jon Moxley, and maybe you can count Byron Saxton if you count getting a selfie with him at an event (or count him as a wrestler at all).
Oh, you wanted descriptions.
Mick was nice enough. He's friendly but sort of, I dunno, neutral. He signed my book, gave me a smile and thumbs up, and I went on my way. No photo though because it was before digital cameras were a thing let alone cell phones.
Mox went out of his way to be kind to me. When he saw me pull up in my wheelchair for my autograph, he offered a selfie as well. The convention organizers wanted me to sit in front of his table with him behind it. He was like "Nah, not happening" and came around the table, took my phone, and snapped the selfie himself. When the time came shortly after for the pro-photo op, I wanted to do it standing up (I can stand/walk but only for short periods) and he sort of cheered me on a bit as I worked my way out of my chair. One of the most chill and kind guys I've ever met hands down.
And Byron? He seemed shocked that I would want a selfie with him at ringside rather than fight the crowd for one with Seth Rollins who was nearby. When I motioned to my walker (that I was using for support and was hidden behind the barricade), he seemed to understand and happily snapped a selfie with me. Very polite and cheerful. Proud of that selfie.

This will be fun. Lets see if I can remember everyone....
The Undertaker One Man Gang/Akeem Bret Hart Alexa Bliss Kelly Kelly Shane Douglas Slick Christopher Daniels Virgil Bob Orton DDP Dr. D Tugboat/Typhoon The Mountie Jim Cornette Koko B. Ware Al Snow Barbarian Scarlett Jim Duggan Jerry Lawler Brian Knobbs Jerry Sags Rick Steiner Scott Steiner Brandi Lauren Ron Simmons Bryan Danielson Mariah May Deonna Purrazzo Anna Jay Ted DiBiase IRS Mick Foley Jordynne Grace Jimmy Hart Kevin Sullivan Brutus Beefcake Lex Luger Lita Paige Candice LaRae Trish Stratus Tatanka Ricky Morton Robert Gibson Greg Valentine Ronnie Garvin Tom Prichard Ax Smash Johnny Gargano Barry Windham Ricky Steamboat Marty Jannetty Papa Shango Eric Bischoff Jake Roberts Ric Flair Kane Kevin Nash Sting Sgt Slaughter Jushin Liger Jeff Jarrett Dustin Rhodes Arn Anderson 123 Kid Magnum TA Tessa Blanchard Tully Blanchard Road Dogg Billy Gunn Honky Tonk Man Killer Kross Bunkhouse Buck JJ Dillon Wendi Richter
The best are Ricky Steamboat & Alexa Bliss. Steamboat lives here in town now and we've actually become friends which is pretty cool.
The worst is probably Flair. Ive met him 4 or 5 times and only once had an interaction with him that was worth a damn.

Roddy Piper - at RingFest
Sting - at a show/signing in Poughkeepsie NY
Bret Hart - at a different show/signing in Poughkeepsie NY.
Jimmy Snuka - at RingFest.
Paige - she bumped into me at a show that Sting was signing at.
Jim Duggan - at the show that Sting or Bret signed at.
Kevin Nash - at the same show.
John Morrison - at the same show.
The Patriot - at the same show.
Tito Santana - while working for UPS I met him while delivering a package to his hair salon.
Sgt Slaughter - well, his camouflage limo. When I was in high school I worked at the BK in West Caldwell NJ and there was a wrestling school up the road in Pine Brook. Sarge came in to get BK well he sent his driver/body guard in and didn’t leave the limo. But we did walk out to the parking lot and talk to him for a minute.

I may have told this story before... I've met a few and spoke to a few before but by far the most memorable and coolest experience was driving Jimmy Hart to and from Ringside Fest in 2007 from Philly to New York. I probably spent a good 6 hours or so with him. We made a few stops along the way for bathroom and lunch breaks. Though I can say, he was on his phone a lot. Much of it was Hulk Hogan, other times he just seemed to be scheduling things. He talked to some other wrestlers as well, I forget who though. I would overhear Hogan talking (in his normal voice), it was so surreal. I found it weird that Jimmy would call Hogan "Hulkster" instead of Terry. Super nice guy that treated me with respect. No ego, nothing like that. He loved talking about wrestling and told me quite a few stories. I really didn't ask, I didn't want to be "that person" but I guess he just loves it so much and I was more than happy to listen. I was into Greyhound adoption at the time and my coat had the adoption info on it, he was curious about that. I had a portable GPS unit in my car and he was curious about that as well. He was nice enough to listen to me babble on about my meager life, lol. I really appreciate Jimmy Hart for being so awesome. I'll never forget that.

I’ve never formally met any. I’ve been in the same room as Terry Funk, Charlie Haas, Shelton Benjamin and Jim Cornette at a signing before an ROH show but I didn’t go up to any of them. I remember Haas and Benjamin were jacked as at the time and Cornette was telling stories about Vince McMahon. It was ROH Glory By Honor IX in 2010.

Mick Foley Velvety Skye Dudley Boys Scott Steiner Bobby Rood Finn Balor Sheamus JD McDonagh.
all were straight up folks.
last 3 I met before they were in WWE. I recently just missed Finn in Glasgow. He was in the same hotel as us and was heading to the Celtic game too. I would have loved to have met him again and got a newer pic. Balor and JD are from Bray in County Wicklow which is only 35 minutes away from me.

I've met so many dating back to 2008 when I was a teenager and found out that they stayed at the Hilton just down the street from my house when they did shows here. (It's changed around a lot since then). Makes me wish I'd started doing that earlier as a kid and I could've met rosters dating back to 2002, some of whom are no longer with us.
In my teenage years I was able to meet John Cena, Kane, Big Show, Cody Rhodes, Rey Mysterio, Charlie Haas, Kofi Kingston, Edge, Christian, Gail Kim, Beth Phoenix, Mickie James, Candice Michelle, John Morrison, Dolph Ziggler, Zack Ryder, Santino Marella, Primo, Paul Burchill, Evan Bourne, MVP, Mark Henry, D'Lo Brown, Booker T, Jeff Hardy, RVD, Mr Kennedy, Matt Morgan, Victoria, Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, Jinder Mahal, Mason Ryan, Curt Hawkins, Tyler Reks, Kelly Kelly, Natalya, R-Truth, Ricardo Rodriguez, Brodus Clay, Goldust, Daniel Bryan, Great Khali, Alicia Fox, Wade Barrett, Darren Young, Justin Roberts, Lilian Garcia, Mike Chioda and Tony Chimel.
I met Bret Hart at a book signing when I was 17.
I met Team Hell No at a signing when I was 20.
Dean Ambrose at a signing in 2015.
At Inside The Ropes shows I've met Goldberg, Mick Foley Kurt Angle, Eric Bischoff and Trish Stratus, and will be meeting Lita in September.
I met Chris Jericho once at a Fozzy VIP show in 2017 and again in 2021 when their bus was parked round the back of a building after a show at 2am and I decided to chance my luck and knock. His security answered and arranged for him to come out and I chatted to him for like 10 minutes.
I met Scotty 2 Hotty at a small signing in A1 Toys 2 years ago.
More recently I've met Charlotte, Bayley, Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss, Cesaro, Xavier Woods, James Ellsworth, Chad Gable, Jason Jordan, Pete Dunne, Ridge Holland, Nakamura, The Miz, Samoa Joe, Jojo, Nia Jax, Karl Anderson, Enzo Amore, Charles Robinson, Corey Graves, Damien Priest.
At Axxess and WrestleMania Superstores I've been able to meet Sting, Mark Henry, Kane, Dana Brooke, Daniel Bryan, Dean Ambrose, Lacey Evans and Drew McIntyre.
Jack Gallagher once came into my work and I got to meet him.
A lot of those people I've met more than once too, I didn't actually realise just how many I've met until I sat down and looked through all the shows and recalled who was all there!

Back in 2005 I met Mick Foley the one time Wizard World came to Boston. He was really cool and understanding about the fact that at the time I was poor (for real lol) and couldn't afford an autograph. Just a quick "hi" as he was wrapping up at his table but that always resonated with me. I met him again at my local indy years later and was able to pay for a photo op in the ring with him and my best friend who I grew up watching him with, so that was really cool to come full circle.
I hung out after an NXT house show once and got photos with William Regal, Asuka, Ember Moon, Tye Dillinger, No Way Jose, and Shinsuke Nakamura.
I once paid for a meet and greet with Ted DiBiase. The guys in front of me tried to get him to sign like 20 things under the same $30 price so he was in a foul mood, but I still got a decent picture and a signed 8x10.
I went to an ECW taping way back in the day and they had Spike Dudley doing free photo ops during the intermission.
I met Dusty Rhodes once at NYCC cause he was there with whoever it was demoing WWE All Stars. I told him I wasn't planning on standing in line to try the demo and he cut a quick promo on me lol.
Cody Rhodes got tossed over the barrier at my local indy and landed in my lap.
One time I was flying to Florida, and it was right after 9/11 so my dad made us get to the airport mad early cause he thought security would be a bitch. It took like, 30 minutes, so we had a couple hours to kill. Me and my friend were walking the airport, and before long noticed that we we just getting passed in the opposite direction by mobs of WWE wrestlers flying in for a show in town that night. Didn't bother any, got a few nods as we pointed them out to each other like nerds, and Bubba Dudley caught our eyes and told us to stay the f*ck away from him lmfaoooo.
Met Orange Cassidy at an Evolve show right before he got signed by AEW. He was doing free photos.
MJF called my mom a wh*re because I was slightly inebriated at a local indy and told him that he worked for a t-shirt company (right before AEW actually started doing stuff).
I met Dijak, Josh Briggs, and Carmelo Hayes before they all got signed. Briggs is a sketch bucket. Dijak is kind of a d*ck. Hayes is cool AF but he said I was a basic lmfao.

Edge at a book signing. Curt Hawkins and a referee at the arena before a house show. Bella Twins for a random signing before a PPV at the arena. Saw Hurricane at Geno’s after Royal Rumble in 2018 in Philly. Balls Mahoney at a local show. Boogeyman in full costume pulled up to the hotel I was at for Mania on Saturday.
The coolest one is that my friend became friends with Nick Mondo over Facebook and after the 3rd Dynamite in 2019 in Philly we met up with him after the show at Geno’s for cheesesteaks. He worked for AEW at the time.
