What was the deal with jakks giving him frosted tips etc, I get jakks are jakks but where was the sense? I remember getting this when I was a kid in a box set for Christmas and even then I was confused ..

No idea, but this Benoit figure was one of the very first wrestling figures I ever owned so I have soft spot for it. The frosted tips is definitely funny to look back at in hindsight though, painting it that way actually requires more effort and paint to be used so I'm not sure what Jakks was doing here as it wasn't for cost cutting reasons for once

Definitely an odd choice, but i personally think the face itself is one of his best. So much so that i got two of this headscan for Elite customs, and had the customizer fix the hair. Here's how they look with the modified hair.  |

It was definitely a strange choice, but I kinda dig that figure so I quite liked it. I know it wasn't accurate, but it felt like something just a bit different so I liked the idea of it. How they got to doing it, I don't know but it depends what reference shots they were using so who knows why, we'll probably never know.

Here's how they look with the modified hair. Yeah, the likeness is spot-on, which is insane considering it was a scan all the way from as early as 2003. This one and the ones they used are on his Deluxe Aggression figures are probably my two favorite ones for Benoit, with the former being more representative of his 2000-2003 pre-match look and the later of him mid-match from around 2004-2007. |
