I'm probably wrong but I think Elite belt releases, for the most part, have been shiny/vac. The ultimate usos were dull for "cost"
Basic/BP will likely always be dull/unpainted

There hasn’t been a shiny penny/dime tag belt with an elite since before Covid. They’ve all been dull since at least the elite set with blue New Day
The ultimate Randy Orton had a shiny Raw tag belt, that’s been the only one that’s come with a shiny version in quite some time

I don’t think these dull belts look that bad compared to other ones. These belts have had periods where they get really beat up or dull irl and WWE take a long time to replace them. They’re also just not as shiny as gold belts

Speaking of the tag belts, it's time for WWE to create a new tag team belt design, especially if they aren't going to split them back up.
The tag belts are by far the oldest design and it seemed like most people were not fans of them from the start (going back to the penny/black strap).

No excuse for Dull belts included with Ultimates
Only excuse for Elites is if they have other accessories or insane attire deco

There seems to be some confusion. There’s shiny vac belts, there’s dull but still bright non-vac ones, and then there’s the battle pack unpainted ones that are cast in like grey plastic.
I remember back in the day they had some non-vac belts with elites like the U.S. title with Daniel Bryan, the I.C. Title with Ezekiel Jackson, a WWE title with CM Punk I think, and the bronze tag titles with Air Boom. I dunno if the World Heavyweight title ever got a version like this.
And then there was another U.S. title that I think was vac, but didn’t look as shiny as other belts. I think it came with either the first Cesaro or the second Dean Ambrose.

Thank you - what is VAC btw? "Vacuum metalizing is the process of physically plating a metal material onto a plastic part in a vacuum chamber. The technique was first used in the 1930s to make reflective films for lenses. Later, it was extended to various optical parts, such as street lamps and automobile headlights. It is also used as a functional film for aluminum coating plating of records, decorative coating of materials and surface modification. These applications include imitation gold plating of watch cases, metallic texturing of plastics, and metallic coating of mechanical tools."

And if it was a question of cost, why not give them VAC belts and not include the shirts? Especially as the new UE20 Roman doesn't have a shirt either... 🤷♂️

What could the cost between shiny and dull be?? Are we talking a dollar?? $2?? Dull Championship Title Belts should never have been created. At the very least, dull plates should have only been used for basic figures, at the very least.

The last few versions of the Raw tag belts I have gotten had two issues: The plates were dull and the red had too much of an orange tint to it. I think these came with the Ultimate Usos and with an elite figure I bought within the last few months - can't remember who though.

Yeah, this is something I think a lot of people are missing. People seem to think that there are only two versions of the belts. There aren't. There are three. There are the "Shiny" versions, which show up on many Elites, the "Dull" versions which show up with basics, and the current "Metallic" versions that appear in certain ultimate editions and elites. I can't remember which figure it was, I believe it was an UE figure, but there was actually a "Metallic" version of the Big Eagle belt (the Attitude Era one). I have it but I can't remember who it came with. Actually, it may have been that one Ringside Exclusive Undertaker as Kane figure. Point is that as much as we give them crap for putting "basic belts" in Elites and UEs, they actually aren't. They're putting the new Elite tag belts in Ultimate Editions. The basic belts are MUCH worse.

They’re also just not as shiny as gold belts I actually remember looking at the tag belts last year and thinking this same thing. That they had gotten so beat up and dull that the non-vac belts weren't that far off anymore.
