It's Rumble season, so I thought this would be a good one.
I'd say this match was one of the GOATs tbh, what a banger. The whole thing was just spotless.
Do you guys agree? Would you say it was good? Great? Overrated? Underrated? Epic? Bad? A modern classic?
It had Lesnar dominating for 30 mins, facing off with Nakamura, Rey,Kofi,Big E, Cesaro, Keith Lee, Strowman etc... I think he got 13 eliminations in a row, new record. Edges epic return, Drew winning, Drew taking out Lesnar & Reigns, Edge/AJ face off, Edge/Orton face off etc.

I'd put it up there.
Lesnar being WWE Champion and coming out at number one was a fresh take on the Rumble. He dominated for just the right amount of time without being repetitive. I would have liked to see those he eliminated get a little bit more offense on him instead of getting eliminated almost instantly. The pop for Drew eliminating him was insane and pretty much solidified him as a main eventer.
Edge coming back was ok. Never cared for him but a return after nine years was something I guess.
Just a shame that the two big matches to come out of this, Drew vs Brock and Orton vs Edge, were essentially taken away from us.

I remember watching thinking WWE are back after arguably the worst year in company history in 2019. Only for 2020 to rival it due to no fans.

Remove Edge and it drastically decreases imo. Just goes to show how big of a damn deal Edge returning was. I marked out

It was a good one, I don't think I could put it up there with the Rumbles of 1999-2002, though.

Just terrible. You know what's better than zooming in on a few fans marking out? Showing the wrestler making his entrance with all the crowd near the stage marking out

I was so pissed at first. Thought I paid to watch Brock just eliminate everyone. Then Keith Lee came out and I started to get it. I had zero interest in Drew as a top star before the match but when he finally eliminated Brock I exploded with everyone else. I also didn’t believe Edge would be coming back so I lost it when he actually did. By the end of it I was hyped Drew won and was ready to see him and Brock in Tampa.
The womens Rumble was pretty solid though wanting Shayna to win, I was left with a bad taste in my mouth when Charlotte won. Though it worked out because her and Rhea had a great match.
The rest of the card was solid too. Bryan vs Fiend was great. I got to see Bayley defend her title during her fantastic reign. Becky and Asuka always deliver. Roman vs Corbin was fine. Gable vs Sheamus was fun.
Probably in my top 5 Rumble events.

I remember watching that Rumble match itself at least half a dozen times in the weeks after it happened. I thought it was so fresh and cool. I actually loved Brock eliminating the first half of the rumble, because I honestly started to wonder, "who is gonna eliminate this guy?!"
Overall it is a really fun rumble match. I think it holds up greatly to go back and re-watch and enjoy.

The Brock stuff was repetitive and got boring real fast, but it benefited Drew at the end which was something.
Edge's return was cool and took me by surprise but it wasn't my favourite Rumble.

All of the Brock stuff culminating with drew eliminating him was a ton of fun. Great spots with Ricochet and Keith Lee, and a surprise with MVP. Very well put together rumble.

Brock dominating through half the rumble bored me to tears. I get it since they wanted to push Drew but yeah eliminating 13 guys (and some heavy hitters to boot - Strowman, Lee, Nakamura, etc...) was painful to sit through live. Cole sounded like a broken record trying to hype up every time a new guy entered - "Oh, now this is gonna be interesting!" "Oh this is gonna be good!" etc, etc, yawn...
Charlotte winning the womens rumble was painful. Didnt need it, led to yet another pointless self-egotistical title reign. Shayna should have won coming off a dominant close to 2 years as NXT womens champ.
Idk I look at an event like the rumble and its hard from a nostalgia standpoint to not factor in everything thats happened since. Sure in the moment Drew winning was huge, but then he went back to being a mid-carder to probably soon leaving again never getting his title run in front of fans. Edge returning was great, but then everything after was kind of weak imo (the feud with Orton was a snooze, and holding a big grudge against how dirty he did Judgment Day/Balor).

I thought it sucked.
It trips me out how I can remember so many specific details about Rumble matches from over 20 years ago, but yet I had to Google this to try and remember what happened.
