I don't understand everyone complaining about not including a Winged Eagle..... Am I the only one who has about 30 Winged Eagles in a bin from all the figures that came with one over the last 12 years? I'm a bit surprised by all the criticisms on this - when I scoffed at the Ali exclusive last year I felt like I got bashed! I actually LIKE this one, just not sure I have the funds at the moment - - - and HBK isn't one of my key favorites. But the figure and the packaging look fantastic.  There's always some portion of the population that is outraged here over any decision. But for me this is a big addition, even though I already own multiple figures in this attire. It's an iconic moment from my childhood, really well executed figure that vastly improves on previous versions, and hopefully will be easier to get than "mass retail" figs line the MNW UEs. I get the belt complaint if you're a sealed collector, but most of us have plenty of winged eagles. This is the first SDCC release that I'm planning to buy since the Slim Jim Macho. And while I'd honestly prefer some deep cut wrestlecrap like when they did Yankem and The Shark, I'm perfectly content with this one. It's not for everybody, and that's fine. But I hope folks keep in mind Sgt Slaughter wasn't for everyone either, and Ali and Zeus were a giant bait and switch with SDCC releases followed up soon after with Elites that ended up available for well under MSRP. |

Then why did they include a post match head and make one of the glamour shots this?  Good question, but the focus is on how it's packaged, and it's entrance-focused. Shouldn’t he come with the waist harness then? Btw, I’m looking at the Jakks version and I have to say I prefer the line work of the rhinestone like material inside of the hearts. I kind of wish it wasn’t left blank. |

Some of us may have an extra belt but others may not. Plus it’s not like this set is really making you feel like you’re getting your money’s worth. It’s in a normal UE box, plus a plain shipper box, and all the parts and accessories you’d expect with an UE. Yeah it has the zip line but it’s pretty much useless to 99% of the loose collectors. Well I'm going to counter that with all the complaints I've seen on here whenever Mattel uses a DIFFERENT sized box for Ultimates. That people's collections/shelves look messed up when they use a different size box. Yeah I’m just saying they didn’t exactly break the budget with this figure, especially considering they’re charging $45, to justify excluding the winged eagle. |

If you're a MIB collector, having the title doesn't make sense. If you want to display it loose, the winged eagle is probably the most commonly made title. It would have been a nice inclusion, but not a big deal from my perspective. |

I'm thinking maybe last years's Ali set was a huge disappointment for them so this year they decided to play it safe. Nothing wrong with that actually.

It would have been a nice inclusion, but not a big deal from my perspective. Having bare arms and sweaty pushed back hair doesn’t make sense either for MOC collectors so why include that? |

The figure's a winner, folks.... just because it's not for you doesn't mean it's not a winner. Not sure I'll be buying this due to personal reasons, but I still think it's a fantastic effort by Mattel (even though it might not be "for me").  |

As Steve Ozer said on the podcast "it's an Ultimate Edition that's cool and I think people will like it" he didn't seem overly enthused about it though and after the first looks at it settles down, that's how it feels. Especially someone who already diluted the excitement of it by dropping obvious hints but not outright telling everyone because of his Mattel privileges being revoked. You still mad bro? |
