To back you up I’ve had two business dealings with this guy too. I purchased a test shot of the OWN Warrior from him (one of the four limited release Warriors). Cost a couple hundred and went fine. Then he wanted to do business on a granite warrior but he wanted $1200 for it. Which I said was too much for a figure and he indicated I was too cheap/poor to afford it and called me a dick for wasting his time. You certainly are. He’s right. If you want to play with the big boys better be prepared. One kidney is totally enough. I already sold one of my livers for the OWN Warrior.

I considered it but the exchange was years ago. I'll pass on supporting his toy line. To back you up I’ve had two business dealings with this guy too. Especially after he had already made a deal with you.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they just let max moon trademark lapse Im not sure of the full legality but what I believe is you can’t just trademark for the sake of trademarking, you have to shown intent or reason to have the trademark E.g. the undertaker trademark for the purposes of wrestling / sports entertainment WWE will keep ontop of because of the figures, trading cards, merch etc avenues and revenue streams Someone like say max moon. If they wanted to renew the trademark they’d have to be able to evidence why and I can’t remember any max moon merch in forever Similarly Adam bomb, I believe they let that lapse and Bryan Clarke owns the trademark now? Could be wrong but for some reason I think that. If it’s that simple then do you think all the grapplers and gimmicks guys names are still currently trademarked by the wwe? What would be his reason for not referring to them by their wwe names if there’s no legal reason why he can’t?

He's not using the same names. Comet Kid, or whatever he's called, is presumably his way around any trademarks. Same deal with using the real names of the talent as opposed to their WWF ring names. I think a big part of it has to do with him being based in China/using their law system. When it comes to international copyright law or shipping these goods to other countries, I am mostly useless. That isn’t what I got my doctorate in so I cannot speak to it. That said, he appears to be using some of their WWF names (at least as of this time). Mantaur = Mike “Mantaur Halac Max Moon/Comet Kid/Komet Kid = Komet Kid For further educational purposes: As far as I know, all other names and looks are going to be the same as what they had in the WWF. Fair play, I didn't know Max Moon was ever known as the Comet Kid.

What would be his reason for not referring to them by their wwe names if there’s no legal reason why he can’t? I said I’m not sure of the full legalities but trademark / IP law is far more complicated than people think. I follow a few on socials and YouTube etc because it’s interesting and Lawyers specialise in it and spend years studying it. As I say from what I understand you can’t hold a trademark / IP / rights with no intent to use it just to prevent others, you have to be able to display a financial interest / intention to use. Then there’s the whole Cody thing where he could use rhodes in some media but not others etc during that spell on the indies. It’s a minefield I don’t pretend to fully understand but I’m giving my opinion from what I understand. Where it might be easy for wwe could be the network / peacock because of the amount of footage on there I suppose it could give the argument that they are retaining ips because of the likeness rights and IP and they monetise those? There’s always loopholes, small print, exceptions etc - didn’t Disney granted a special extension to prevent some of their licenses falling into public domain etc? I think Mickey Mouse is due to enter public domain next year, no doubt they will try to prevent that happening Asked a long time ago about wwe properties I believe ZST said it’s a minefield and one he doesn’t want to entertain. The other companies likely just copied this stance. Even if legally they could use an IP would you want to go through the time, risk and money involved or just play safe and change the name slightly? That’s sensible imo.

Its being made. But it won't come with the mask. Shame because the mask was what really put it over the top for me. I'll still buy the blue one probably to go with my retro njpw shelf

Fair play, I didn't know Max Moon was ever known as the Comet Kid. Well, you are kind of correct. Max Moon (Paul Diamond) was never televised as Komet Kid. According to Konnan himself Konnan was the only Komet Kid. "People think that Max Moon was me, but I was never Max Moon, That was after I left" said Konnan in an interview. I can't find that interview, but I remember it was on his podcast with disco. This is confirmed by an interview with diamond on Hannibal's podcast. Paul was billed as Komet Kid only a couple of times in dark matches and house shows prior to the name change of Max Moon. It's interesting that KWK decided to name the figure Comet Kid, since Komet Kid was 99% Konnan and Max Moon was 100% Diamond. Technically if you count the 2 or 3 dark matches Paul Diamond did use the Komet Kid name, but if you are ever watching old matches know that Konnan=Komet Kid, Max Moon=Paul Diamond. An interesting side note is that Konnan actually debuted the character as El Relampago, before changing his name to Komet Kid. Konnan had more appearances as El Relampago (just a few) than as Max Moon (zero).

I hope he's still searching for the next of kin for Haystacks Calhoun. I've wanted a figure of him since my Dad used to talk about him.

I'm not sure why there is any negativity to this line. He has lesser known talent I'd really like to see made into figures. Mantaur and Orient Express just to name a few. I want all of these companies to do well. Even the few people on here that have complaints are on communication. They all got their products that they purchased in quality condition.

Is this guy at all a part of or involved with the Asylum All-Stars line? I see a lot of KWK stuff posted on the Asylum Wrestling Store Instagram page.

I think they are just the US distributor? I think so, but aren't we also able to order direct from his site? I think I'm going to pre order the Yoshi today. He has the green 1/100 up for pre order on his site. I was going to get the black B variant, maybe both.

I’m in the UK so it’s only his site I can order from, from his posts on social media I think the 1/100 is only available from his site? the rest on asylum for the US.

You can also order from the Asylum. They do international shipping. That’s what I did as KWK came along very shady with line and really has to prove himself before I do business with him directly.
