I think it could be fun to discuss who our most wanted wrestlers (who didn’t get figures) were when we were youngsters - and which figure we used as them, in the Hasbro / galoob era.
I remember really wanting a Mr Wonderful Paul Orndorff, when he showed up in WCW - so I use to use the galoob Lex Luger as him.
And the galoob Tom Zenk saw quite a bit of substitute action - Id use him as a few different people like Tito Santana, Texas Tornado (before I had his Hasbro), Larry Zbyzsko, Tully Blanchard and even Marcus Alexander Bagwell!
Jerry The King Lawler was someone who I really wanted a figure of; and iirc the British Bulldog pulled double duty as him.
When Vader started running rampage in WCW, Hawk became him; while the galoob Barry Windham was also Stunning Steve Austin. And the galoob Butch Reed ended up being Ron Simmons for me, as he had a much more playable figure.
And towards the end of my ‘playing’ days in early ‘94, I was so taken by Diesel’s strong showing in the rumble that I had to have him - and so decided to use Nasty Boy Sags for some reason 😂 which still has the marker pen goatie that I drew on it!
And there were also the ‘non wrestling figures’ who helped make up numbers - secret wars Doc Ock in a Gambit jacket as Jimmy Hart; GI Joe Zarana as Luna; Dick Tracy Lips Manlis as Paul Bearer.
So who were yours?

Many, many of the gaps that were not in the WWF Hasbro line (been listed forever and a day on here) but for some reason (possibly that Royal Rumble 91 match) but always Orient Express.
And Power & Glory and Barbarian & Haku and Dino Bravo etc…

So many. Haku, barbarian, Owen Hart in hart gear, diesel, managers, refs and even into new gen and attitude era until the WM 15 tagged BCA’s hit Australia.

The Orient Express were a major want of mine in 1991 as was Bret Hart. It felt like it took forever for Hasbro to make a Bret Hart!
I also really wanted The Beverly Brothers, they felt like they were on TV at least once a week in the early 90s.

Back as a kid, Diesel as a Hasbro probably would have been my #1 want. It is pretty amazing to be in a time when we are getting decent representations of all of the characters we had hoped for.

IRS was Vince McMahon and Bossman 1 was my ref
had the two cops figures from the Robocop TV series (Parks and Madigan) as ringside security/police to escort or arrest people if crapgot real, they looked better as they were tiny compared to the wrestlers themselves, just like cops used to look alongside the likes of Goldberg or the Giant
I never had the Andre Hasbro as a kid, so Giant Gonzalez was my Andre for ages, and I actually got the hat from a Star Toys Indiana Jones figure and stuck it on Akeem, and moulded some blu-tack sunglasses and he was Mr Hughes, probably Hogan's biggest nemesis who never fought for the title but would be drafted in as bodyguard/enforcer for HBK and constantly kick Hogan's ass whenever he fell to the outside

Just a shame we didn’t get a decent Diesel though, eh? Pretty much. I own a few but none of them are quite perfect. Here is an old photo (I have since added a couple of custom Hasbros and the Retro nWo Nash):

Diesel, USA Lex, Owen Hart from 1994, Jerry the King Lawler, a better Rick Rude and Ric Flair, the Brain Busters, Power & Glory, heel Jake the Snake, and long tights Macho King were all huge wants of mine during the Hasbro run. Some other guys like Tugboat, Dino Bravo, Ronnie Garvin, pre-Matador Chico Santana, Hercules, Zeus, Barbarian, and Haku would have been great as well. Not big wants, but I definitely wouldn't have said no to more figures as a kid, so the Beverly Brothers, Orient Express, the Rougeau Brothers, Bad News Brown, the Red Rooster, General Adnan, Col. Mustafa, Big Bully Busick, the Quebecers, and Bob Backlund.

Andre the Giant was the one I always wanted and never had. Close second was Demolition Crush. Kona Crush teamed with Ax and Smash regularly but I never had Demo Crush as a kid

I didn't have all of the Hasbro line during the initial run, and I didn't even know who was or wasn't available, but I remember really wanting a Galoob version of Doink, which was never gonna happen for all kinds of reasons! I didn't have a HBK for a long time, and I really wanted that Hasbro, I used the Galoob Brian Pilman in his place.

I didn’t swap in anyone or pretend duplicates were someone else. Just couldn’t do it. Ha.

Hasbro era:
First an foremost Diesel. He was the big missing character in my play. Tried so many different customs but non were satisfying (started with a MOTU Ninjor, went over to Boss Man No.1, Jerry Saggs, Sid Justice and Giant Gonzales). Finally I did a custom of Crush with Boss Man 2 legs, I still have to this date. Unfortunately I never got the Knock Off Diesel as it wasn’t available in Germany. But that would have been the best to play with and the headsculpt is very good.
Next would definitely be Mable, so I am looking forward to the G&G one. Kamala took his role in my play, but it was never really satisfying. At least Koko B Ware made a passable Mo.
The Quebecers and The Beverly Brothers were missing tag teams.
Anvil and Owen definitely needed an upgrade. Ironically WWF Hasbro is the only line that features all 4 Hart family members though. So I don’t want to complain at all.
I hated that The Undertaker had the permanent hat (I actually like that today); same for Bret Harts shades (however looking at Mattels attempt the shades might have been a good way to hide a poor sculpt).
Others note worthy: Johnny B Badd/ Marc Mero (I customized a Texas Tornado), Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Jerry Lawler, Goldust and Vader.
