Why do I get the feeling George was originally supposed to come in a 2 pack with Macho, and Roddy with a Red/Yellow Hogan or even a Bob Orton?

But even from the start, what exactly is the Hogan/Funk connection? Same first name? Yes, they’ve had matches, including Saturday Night’s Main Event, but Hogan had more memorable feuds with many others. Of who’s likely available, better feud pairings would have been Andre, Piper, Sheik, Studd, Bossman, or DiBiase. Seems like they don’t mind being relatively random, just wanting to pair an anchor with someone who would be less likely to sell/be produced on their own.

I really dig it. I hope it continues as long as it can and Mattel can be able to make more names.
Demolition would absolutely rule

I don’t know if I would call it the best line ever with only 3 set releases so far, but I will say it has the wrestling figure of the year in the form of the best “Rowdy” Roddy Piper of all-time.

...where's: "no, Mattel Elites are the best"? "no, Mattel Legends are the best"? "no, Mattel Ultimate Edition (regular lines) are the best"? When you look at longevity, breadth of talent there’s no question it’s elites. Yes there’s issues with them but a lot of that is because we have been spoilt with them do good I mean that bezerker years back, who’d have thought so much care and attention to a midcarder. Classics were good but not elite good.

This seems like a hell of a loaded "poll"
The answer is just "No" by the way.

I do love this line but I think the inconsistency holds it back a little. I always prefer things to be accurate from an attire perspective, I don’t like fantasy gear at all - for me, this line could have existed and done very well in the same way but should have made adjustments to make the ring gear match a genuine attire.
Now people said ‘but this is staying true to the LJNs’ which I could accept and have so far kept it as a separate collection to my main collection but now they’ve started changing attire away from what LJN did and still not being ring accurate, I don’t really get it.

Without doubt andre is the figure to go with hogan. Mania 3, the SNME etc. for the time this is hitting hogan Andre is the pairing

If I had to rank all the wrestling figures lines I have purchased over the years it would go like this.
Mattel Legends Elites Jakks Classic Series/CSTT Coliseum Collection Ultimate Edition DM CSDA Toy Biz WCW Entrance Greats Basics/Battle Packs DA RA/RA 2-packs R3 Galoob WCW LJN Hasbro Jazwares Supreme Toy Biz TNA Jazwares Unrivaled:Unmatched Remco AWA TTL/TTL 2-Packs Finishing Moves/Final Count BCA
I think that is everything I have purchased over the years.

Feels like it will just be a re-release in a nice box? Hogan probably the same too. Two re-releases of very recent ultimate figures in one set and charging $70 is a tough sell.

Andre would hopefully be a 2 in 1, packaged as a series 1 LJN style in blue trunks with longer hair. But Hogan feels like it would pretty much be a rerelease of the Ultimate we already got. And that’s why I would rather pair Andre with Studd, personally.

Blue trunks Andre with a new torso so his gut hangs over the waistline a little bit. Like in Mania 1 & 2. 2 heads, one long hair, one short hair.
