Maybe, which will be switched to yes if they start including other people from that timeframe that never had a LJN (like Mr. Perfect).
I wouldn't even mind if they eventually went into New Gen and Attitude Era with packaging once they exhausted the LJN figures.
I get focusing on/prioritizing certain criteria, but don't make it a rule to box yourself in.
Probably my biggest complaint about Mattel is overcomplicating things.
"Let's finally go full force with an Attitude and WCW line but make a dumb rule that it has to be attire from Raw or Nitro."
"Let's add a new line to try to get Legends out again and dedicate it to only people in the Hall of Fame (when there wasn't a wide variety of people under Legends deals)."
"Let's replace that line with a line of people that only held championship titles and include current Superstars that could have easily went in the main elite line."

What the heck is this poll? None of the above. The regular Ultimates line is better IMO Ultimates is a great line for sure but best of all time? Not sure. The packaging alone doesn’t come close to how beautiful Coliseum Collection packaging is. Surely a line is more than just the figure itself? Not only does Coliseum have stunning carded packaging but also comes in a beautiful shipper box. In terms of customer experience of opening the figure up, I personally don’t think anything else Mattel has done comes close. But that’s just me. These polls are just for fun and people seem to be taking it rather too seriously if you ask me!

The packaging goes straight to the recycle bin bud so it plays no part in anything for me.

If we’re talking overall presentation then it’s hands down the original Legends line. Best packaging of any wrestling line IMO. In its short run it offered a bunch of top level talent including some that haven’t gotten a figure in quite some time up until that point. Figures were packed with accessories giving you your moneys worth and more. Also came with stands and name cards.

Once you consider the range of talent and the quality of the figures, Mattel Elites are probably objectively the best.
Jakks CS has a deeper roster that fills some glaring holes in Mattel's line, but the lousy articulation, overly bulky sculpts, and lack of scale hurt it. Also, you've got the elephant in the room that is the lack of HUGE names like Randy Savage and Sting, and also some essentials like Ricky Steamboat and Kerry Von Erich.
That said, if I had to pick only one wrestling figure line to collect, it would be Hasbros by a long shot, with WCW Galoob second, and Mattel Ultimate Edition third.

This is my favourite wrestling line at the moment... great figures - and easily the best packaging. But if we're talking best of all time, the line only consists of 5 figures (plus the 2 sets shown/due for release). So it has a loooooong way to go.
If it gets to, say 30+ figures, then we can start talking best of all time. Hopefully it will 🤞.

its cool and i had a bunch of ljn's when i was a kid but don't personally have any real connection to the line. so i would've rather seen them do a hasbro inspired line. basically just hasbro attires as ultimates with a similar style packaging. and if not hasbros, bca would be my next preferred line to modernize

Not yet. All depends on if they keep going. For me personally it is the retro line followed by the superstars but leaning more for the retros because I know that they will continue for a longer period of time because of their history but also because anyone can get them since people don't have to waste time and money driving to walmart every day to find them at walmart like the superstars. So for those 2 reasons I choose the retro line. The coliseum figures are great but the price point is a major turnoff. Just too expensive for the majority of collectors.

Luckily, that’s kind of what we’ve gotten with Jake, Rick Rude, and the upcoming Bret (just missing the hearts). I’d be all about getting some more like Boss Man and Bam Bam that can double as both.

Best packaging ever for sure. Best modern style wrestling figs IMO, but not a deep enough line yet. LJNs are my favorite toys ever, so between these and the Big Rubber Guys, it’s a great time to be collecting!

Hard question to answer for me.
Yes it could be. No it isn’t right now - that title belongs to Hasbro/retros (look at what Hasbro has spawned - imitation is the greatest form of flattery). But I also believe Defining moments deserves consideration - if/when Mattel can get Andre in there.

For me, Jakks CS line which had plenty of superstars that Mattel probably won't make and the packaging is the best I've seen in any wrestling line.

I pretty much only collect this line at this point. I love all of the figures released so far and it represents my favourite era of wrestling. Having said that I will be skipping the Hart foundation because the Bret sculpt sucks and it doesn’t feel like a representation of the Hart Foundation from that era.
