cage is proud to present the results of the WWF Royal Rumble 1995:
Jeff Jarrett wins the WWF Intercontinental Championship from Razor Ramon.
*I decided to leave this opening contest as is because it seems generally well received and the only way to change it would be to build up towards the Royal Rumble, which I cannot do because we're starting post-Rumble.
The Undertaker (w/ Paul Bearer) defeats The Roadie (w/ Jeff Jarrett)
*I decided to change the match to leave the door open to continue Undertaker's feud with DiBiase past this event, but also because it seems the real match was not very well received. We should see signs of The Roadie having talent of his own and holding his own against The Undertaker is a way to showcase that. The setup for this match is that Roadie interferes in a series of Jarrett's matches with the Undertaker over the course of a few weeks. After Undertaker wins, Jarrett confronts him in the ring and while that's happening DiBiase attacks Bearer from behind to take Undertaker's urn. Jarrett gets the better of Undertaker, who was visibly shaken along with Bearer at the loss of the urn, and has him down in the ring as he raises the Intercontinental Championship.
Irwin R. Schyster (w/ Ted DiBiase) defeats Buck Quartermaine and Barry Horowitz in a Royal Rumble Qualifying Match
*I added this match to insert IRS into the Rumble and make it clear that DiBiase essentially paid for him to have easy opponents getting there, but Horowitz and Quartermaine do get decent offense in because I don't believe in jobbers who just get destroyed unless they're "local talent".
The Million Dollar Corporation (Bam Bam Bigelow/Tatanka)(w/ Ted DiBiase) win the vacant WWF Tag Team Championships against The 1-2-3 Kid & Bob "Spark Plugg" Holly in the tournament final.
*I like the finalists, but I'd swap the winners. Having a faction going into a PPV I think it makes sense to have them win some, lose some, particularly a heel faction. I see many people lambasting the tag team division around this time, so I say have an established team win the titles and leave looking dominant after surviving seven other teams. Holly helps Kid up and cements himself as the mentor type who leads rookies in tag team wrestling for the rest of his career. On the way up the ramp, the Kid notices Matt and Jeff Hardy laughing at him for losing at ringside, grabs their soda, and tosses it in Jeff's face.
Diesel wrestles Owen Hart to a draw with the WWF Championship on the line.
*During the build up to the Royal Rumble, I would have Owen Hart become the number one contender to cement his status as a main event player in his own right, as well as to continue his heat with his brother, and because I would have Bret competing in the Royal Rumble match itself. The reason I decided to keep the controversial draw finish was first and foremost so that I could keep the WWF Title match before the Rumble, otherwise it would have closed the show. Keep everything the same about the finish, except Ted DiBiase directs King Kong Bundy down to the ring to lay out Diesel, Owen Hart, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Jeff Jarrett, and The Roadie. King Kong Bundy stands tall in the ring and DiBiase gloats on the outside with the urn clearly visible in his hand.

3rd: Adam Bomb by Rick Martel (8:53)
Runner-Up: Rick Martel
Winner: Shawn Michaels
*The time interval is increased from one minute to two minutes and the focus is shifted to a tag team style Rumble where the individual members try to stand out because I noticed that people felt everyone involved was a "jobber" outside of a few people. Keep the Shawn Michaels false finish just have it be Martel instead. Some common complaints I saw were that the match was too fast so I increased the time limit. I felt Shawn Michaels winning from number one and in the way he did was part of Rumble history and I could not change that. Besides, in my opinion, Michaels was the obvious winner, although maybe I will feel differently when I book the lead up.
