Unfortunately Walmart is their customer. Its as simple as these five words. Don't believe any other answer. Mattel already got their $$$. They don't care who gets what once they're paid.

Walmart is Mattel's biggest buyer now but they are not a toy store so they don't care whether you people get your toys or not. Toys make up a tiny percentage of what Walmart sells and Mattel products make up a percentage of that.

Unfortunately Walmart is their customer. Thatβs where Mattel made their money. Now whatever Walmart does or doesnβt do with the product is entirely up to them. And like I said in the ML thread I am done with Walmart online services. Since Decade of Domination Series 1 they have canceled at least 19 of 20 preorders, about 100 different store pickup orders (McFarlane Gold Label figures) , and finally this past week I ordered an in stock item which they took the money for last Thursday and then canceled my order yesterday. They suck. I went back and counted all the preorders ive made in my histor. 12 out of 32 were not cancelled and I actually got them. Not great odds.

Walmart definitely seems worse than it used to be with preorders. The last couple years have been unreal bad. Like a bunch of other people, I stopped trying. Superstars Hogan and Roddy Piper were available for forever (maybe still are?), and I didn't preorder because I 100% believe it's a waste of time. Maybe that's a mistake, but that's what it's come to π€·

Thats another thing, you guys think walmart has already paid these exclusives.
Well then why does ringside keep magically get them months later ?
Walmart may pay for an intial shipment. Then if it does not hit there sales goal they do not order more.
Its really that simple.

Mattel has issues here in Canada with Walmart. We never got any preorders at all for Eddie, Rey, RVD, or Brock Ultimates yet. Ruthless Aggression line is a lot slower to get here and MOTU stuff is a mess (though I saw an interview from Pixel Dan with someone from the company and they are actually going to try to right the wrong probably by having international customers order straight from Mattel Creations). I hope the Elite team goes that route too.

Not this will happen but I wish Walmart would just give up the exclusives. I just donβt get the model of paying for the license and then donβt stock them anywhere to receive a return on their investment.

Mattel does not have any other legitimate retail buyers other that target. Target is not buying as much product overall as walmart is. The only other options are discount stores and rsc. The discount stores and rsc are not paying the saying price for all the walmart and target "exclusives". So walmart is pretty oblivious to mattel, because toys are a declining market. Mattel needs to just wake up and realize its 2023 and not 1983 anymore. Mattel needs to partner with amazon, rsc, etc. They need to start selling more and more of there product online. They need to stop doing these bullcrap deals with walmart if the product never gets to the stores and then they sell the overstock to someone else for a loss.

Jackass PacificMattel is still trotting along losing money almost every quarter, year after year. I said 10 years untill bankruptcy, 20 years until they gey taken over. Mattel needs to adapt or it will die. They should also get there product into hobby lobby and best buy stores here in the states. I said that before to steve and he get me the very rep tape answer. Mattel is not doing anywhere near enough to stave off there demise. Kids with ipads and tik tok are not going to be buying toys when they have there kids if any.

As everyone says, not Mattel fault (though I wish they would direct the better lines to Target).
What's CRAZY is their is no accountability and good governance structure at Walmart. You think they could find someone decent to run things
