Yeah, I think I prefer the first Hansen. Hopefully inoki comes with a towel & I may be tempted to get this one.

I prefer the recently-released beige version of Hansen because it offered a different design than what HAO had released years ago. Alas, this version of Inoki won't include his towel by the looks of things. There is an 80's - 90's style Inoki with fight towels, but they are part of the mini HAO line. For those that think 16d figures are too small, I strongly recommend avoiding the Mini HAO line.

Finally tracked down an Abdullah to add to the collection. 16d has to be the most underrated wrestling figure line going right now.

Love your collection of the legends from the 16d line. Those are my favourites to collect as well.
Some good and bad news. Good news: The Stan Hansen (black ver.) and Antonio Inoki (80's) 16d figures were made available for pre-order for collectors outside of Japan. Bad news: The pre-order period on Goodsmile's website is now closed. In record time, no less.
Also, for those of you who pre-ordered the 16d Terry Funk figure, GoodSmile has sent out an email informing customers that Terry's release date has been pushed back to August 2024.
Maybe one day GoodSmile/16d will pay me for these unofficial announcements.

Kennichi Hao, the sculptor of the 16d and HAO Collection lines was so popular as a figure maker, that other companies hired him to sculpt figures of professional Wrestlers. Such was the case with toy company KING OF TOY, who produced figures of the Road Warriors and this foreign heel: Tiger Jeet Singh. Singh's facial sculpt is truly lifelike, and even includes a gap in Singh's mouth to place his sabre sword accessory! Removing Singh's cloth turban reveals a frightening visage of the legend. Singh's wrists and arms can be rotated, allowing collectors to pose Singh seconds away from performing his finishing technique: the dreaded Cobra Claw. Interestingly, Singh's likeness was licensed in the mid 2000's by defunct Japanese hardcore Wrestling promotion IWA JAPAN. There are in fact two variants of the KING OF TOY Tiger Jeet Singh figure available. The second (and rarer) version features Singh with a red turban and black trunks. When hunting down this rare figure, collectors should pay close attention to the condition of the hilt of Singh's sabre accessory. I have owned examples where the gold paint has discoloured/faded inside of the packaging.

Our good friend Dylan Sharek over at Wrestlingfiguredatabase.com has done a great job covering New Japan's Pyonsuke plush figures. Here's a few pre-orders on the way. Simply put, Pyonsuke are magnetic plush figures, which can attach to metal surfaces. The figures are most commonly advertised as being able to be placed on collector's shoulders; should they wish to take these figures with them to Wrestling matches. More or less, Japan's smaller version of Bleacher Creatures. Antonio Inoki. Inoki's fight towel cannot be removed. The product description also mentions that, when compared to other plush from the line, the Inoki plush's face is larger as to replicate Inoki's iconic chin. Hiroshi Tanahashi (second version).
Evil Doing his best Home Alone impression: SHO. El Desperado (third version). The next batch of figures are available for regular purchase. Sho.
No, it's not the Boogeyman rocking Rikishi's Sumo gear. It's Titan. SANADA (fourth variant).

Came across this cool custom that was put up for sale recently: This custom is a redesign of The Great Muta from Toukon Shop's Deluxe Superstars Figure Collection. The original deluxe figures were produced in the late 90's, with the first two being Great Muta (Dragon) & Power Warrior. The custom is meant to replicate the original entrance attire Great Muta wore when he first brought the Muta gimmick to Japan. Muta's robe contains gold kanji which reads 'Ninja' in Japanese. True to Muta's classic design, the Kanji written on Muta's facepaint reads 'Ninja' and 'Fire'. My only gripe with this custom is Muta's longer hairstyle and lack of a Ninja hood. By the time Muta started wearing his hair longer again in the mid-to-late 90's, this original attire had long since been replaced with more elaborate designs. While certainly not the best paint job around, this custom is a great indicator at what could have been released by Charapro back in the 90's. Customs of Masahiro Chono and Keiji Mutoh join Toukon Shop's Shinya Hashimoto to recreate an early 90's Three Musketeers lineup. Mutoh's body sculpt was lifted from the Toukon Shop Hiroshi Tanahashi (Tanahashi's first figure, too). The head was lifted from Mutoh's Toukon Shop Natural Born Master figure. The Chono figure is a repaint of the Toukon Shop NWO Japan belt two-pack that was bundled with Keiji Mutoh. Younger versions of Shiro Koshinaka and Keiji Mutoh as he appeared during his 'Space Lone Wolf' period.

tigerdrivercollect - Were there more things out there like kinnikuman colosseum or was that a unique playset? There exists several playsets in the Kinnikuman figureverse. The first set is called Godaijou Kessen. There's also the Uchu Chojin Tag Tournament set. The big difference with this version is that there are six individual rings, without the Japanese-styled castle motifs. The differences in these sets is meant to represent the various tournaments that were part of the Kinnikuman saga.
If you like box sets, Kinnikuman periodically releases anniversary collections for their keshi, too. Most of which are organized by volumes, and are considered quite pricey.
Like opening a box of chocolates, the PERFECT COLLECTION box set contains 205 individual Kinnikuman keshigomu. Each one is labelled on the packaging. The premium Vol. 1. set.
The premium set boasts 15 figures in classic salmon/flesh colour. I am a huge collector of these but i am missing the playset. One day!

I got the same email. You will get a tracking number, as Good Smile are quite reputable.
I've been dealing with them since Andre The Giant was issued back in 2017.

Did you by chance receive a tracking number yet for the Terry Funk figure? They stated August 7. I still haven’t received any tracking yet.

What does the perfect collection box set typically go for? That looks glorious. It's like a big box of cereal with nothing but prizes in it.

I haven't received a tracking number yet, despite the Funk figure shipping out. I haven't been billed either. This was the last email I got on July 31st: Thank you for shopping at the Good Smile Company Online Store. We would like to inform you that the shipping date has been confirmed for the following item/s you have pre-ordered.
--------------------------------- Order Number:CPwVohGdC88p) Product Name:16 directions 16d Soft Vinyl Collection 034: Terry Funk
Estimated Shipment Date:7th August 2024 ---------------------------------
[Please Be Aware of Payment Errors] Credit card and PayPal payments are paid before shipment, your payment may not go through at the discretion of the card issuer or chosen financial institution and a payment error may occur. If a payment error occurs, an automated email notifying you of the payment error before and after this announcement will be sent. Please check your inbox and all your other email folders including your spam for the mentioned email. If payment is not completed within 7 days from this announcement, the pre-order reservation will be automatically cancelled.
In the past, GoodSmile would notify me if there was a payment error. I'd log in, update my card - and the item would be shipped a day or so later. Nothing so far... As for the Kinnikuman Perfect Collection, I came across a Mandarake listing that sold a shrinkwrapped set for one thousand dollars! Apparently, the set was released in 1984; possibly making it the first comprehensive box set collection of figures released to that point. There is a second-hand set currently on eBay for $322 USD plus shipping, though the box is heavily damaged, and the original promo seal is missing.

Update: I received an email from GoodSmile in regards to the Terry Funk 16d figure. My order was finally processed, and the figure will be on it's way shortly. With Terry Funk being incredibly popular in Japan, I'm not surprised that the turnaround time was longer than expected. If not mistaken, this was the first figure released in Japan following Terry's passing. Photos of the upcoming Stan Hansen (black ver.) are also making their rounds. Kinda bummed I missed the pre-order period on that one. Oh, well. There's always eBay...

Glad you did, too, biggerbetterbadder (great WWF WrestleMania on NES-username reference, by the way).
Seeing as pre-orders started shipping out on August 7th (my birthday to boot), it just goes to show you how many people pre-ordered the figure to the point where our orders weren't acknowledged for another two weeks.
Still keeping my fingers crossed for The Road Warriors and Big Van Vader to be added to the 16d line.

Glad you did, too, biggerbetterbadder (great WWF WrestleMania on NES-username reference, by the way). It was the tagline used for some Wrestlemania III promotional material/products (maybe other things too?)

It’s my user name for eBay as well lol. Definitely want Vader and Road Warriors figures too. I’m hoping the most for Dory Funk Jr since we are getting Terry. Just heard today that Dory is wrestling again in Japan on a tribute show for Terry! 83 yrs old. Wild!!
