Cluster headaches being caused due to eye strain from the lighting in the pharmacy dispensary I work in and also using computers a lot throughout the day. I’ve actually been off sick for 2 weeks because it’s become unbearable and was only prescribed stronger painkillers on Monday. Also back pain from standing for too long whilst at work, can’t help but feel like my job is the cause of my troubles 😂 psilocybin is known to really help with cluster headaches. throwing that out there. as for me, I’m not a fan of winter so being Canadian this time of year is always a bit of a struggle. but there’s a lot of good happening, too, so I focus on that. I was prescribed sumatriptan which did help but the only problem is that it knocks me out lol. I have been back to work and requested an eye test however my migraines haven’t been too bad over the last few days. Thanks for the recommendation though! I can’t imagine what winter in Canada is like, it’s probably 10x worse than the UK however we always complain about the weather. At this point the weather is a conversation starter here “it’s quite cold innit?” 😂 |

I have a very annoying tinnitus and my online hearing test doesn't have very good results. Still hope that those results are not super accurate and doctors will tell me that I have some hope. Can't imagine wearing hearing aids in a such young age. |

Monday morning I got a call from my mom that my uncle had a stroke and was in bad shape. Yesterday his daughter called and told my mom the doctor gave her a option to put a feeding tube in his stomach or just to let him lay and starve since he doesn't know how to swallow from the stroke and has covid,so no one can visit.
A little back story,I know most people cares about their family but when I was younger(like 7 or 8-13 years old)I spent so much time with him. He's probably the main reason I even collect anything to this day,we went in stores,flea markets and anywhere you can think on weekends and after school looking for stuff to collect. I got older and just didn't go around him anymore and now probably haven't even seen him in 5+ years. I've lost my dad,granddad,grandmother,3 uncles and two aunts within the last 15 years,dont know how much more my mother and family can take

Got a pre conditional offer from the PD I put in for.
So as long as my medical screening and Human Resources screening goes well I’m hired.
It’s with the department I’ve always wanted. I’ll be Prisoner Transport Officer; so essentially hybrid between police officer and my prior role as correctional officer.
The pay is pretty low during the academy and my probationary year. But it jumps to $21-25 after a year. And pay negotiations open up in June; so I’m hoping higher wages are successfully negotiated.
It’s little lower then the actual police officer rate which goes to $32.50 after a year. But with the stress and spotlight on this specific department and how uninteresting I find most police work I am okay with that.
They want to send us to 1/2 police academy. Just minus police specific learning like say case law.
Which is fine but to undergo as much as them and not get my full Leo certification im not thrilled with. And not get 1/2 credit to bypass 1/2 the academy if I do go full police officer.
Because the training is the same outside of the police specific topics like DUI/Law/ etc.
At some point I think I’ll transition into regular police so I can pursue becoming K-9 Handler.
As Prison Transport doesn’t have to much. Promotion to Sgt. And maybe unit Lt. Is really all you can do.
Or use to go to Probation Parole or leverage elsewhere.
The interview board was the unit Lt. And Admin Sgt. Of the division and they tried hard ass approach in my interview but I held firm. And my experience in corrections and loss prevention clearly backed my mouth up.
They got cool with me toward the end. However it was hard to gage who they were as people because of that first front.
And that got in my head a little.
Not sure if this will be different experience with the department giving out the $10,000 hiring bonus and the longevity bonuses, But I’m fearful of falling into old patterns of corrections.
Of it being miserable work and hating the job,
Very on the wall about this. Not sure if imposter syndrome is arriving since I never thought I’d even have the chance to make to the department interview board.
This may be my last rodeo I long thought I’d be done with any law enforcement or security by the time I’m 25 ( I’m 22; been going since I was 19). So I think this may be my last ditch effort to see if this works and make it my final run.

My wife has cancer and I'm trying to mentally navigate how to go about this unexpected next chapter in life. No one else knows yet and I'm not looking forward to telling my young children.
I'm trying to be proactive and realistic about finances. I've always kept a small collection of wrestling figures and my collection is about 60 total. I put a lot on Ebay to see what I can get. Tough decisions all around await...
