Martin O’Ryan and the man simply known as Jonathan walk through the backstage area out to an empty building with a ring set up in the middle and black guardrails surrounding it.
O’Ryan: A bit…different from what I imagined. Bit smaller, little more…grungy.
Jonathan: Even the tallest trees were once measly acorns Mr. O’Ryan.
O’Ryan: It’s just that, you know…I’ve heard some rumors about the misses in charge and it-
Jonathan: Completely unfounded, and if you wish to remain employed I suggest you not bring them up again. They’ve cause great emotional distress to Ms. Monroe and her family. Now follow me, and I’ll introduce you to your broadcast partner.
O’Ryan nods and follows Jonathan to a crows nest in the back of the small building. In contrast to O’Ryans nice jacket and tucked in golf shirt and khakis, his partner is dressed in ripped jeans, and a black Motley Crue t-shirt.
Jonathan: Martin O’Ryan, meet your color man.
Spencer: Spencer Barker, longtime wrestling fan and professional stand up. Me and my dad used to get so riled up watching your old man wrestle, then course all those matches you’ve had and-
O’Ryan: I get it…don’t be a mark, we have a job to do.
Spencer: Right…right, sorry.
Jonathan rolls his eyes and leaves the broadcasters alone to get familiar with each other. He heads backstage and is greeted by the massive sight of Kaiju.
Jonathan: Not that I’m complaining, but it’s a little early isn’t it?
Kaiju: It comes from my MMA coach, he used make us show up to matches early and just stand in the ring, picture the atmosphere in our heads. Its a habit but it calms me down.
He smiles and pats Jonathan on the shoulder before heading towards the ring. Jonathan brushes off his suit and looks into the camera.
Jonathan: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Project: Wrestling.
The screen cuts to black and then comes in on the ring now surrounded by fans with cages behind the guardrail. A cheering audience awaits the action.
O’Ryan: Project: Wrestling has begun! Welcome to the debut episode. I’m Martin O’Ryan joined by Spencer Barker. Tonight, we got a hell of a show planned.
Spencer: In the main event, British amateur wrestling champion Tommy Preston will take on the third generation high flyer Tigre Jr., while Japanese junior heavyweight Rei Igarashi meets Frank Clover.
O’Ryan: But to kick us off…
The main title theme from Godzilla vs. Destroyah begins to play and the perk up as the six foot six, three hundred and twenty pound Kaiju makes his way to ringside. His red and brown MMA shorts are decorated with sponsor logos and he’s sporting small black boots. In the ring is his opponent a balding and kind of scrawny wrestler known as Lightspeed Larry.
O’Ryan: Good grief, look at the size difference between these two.
Spencer: Remember being a kid, and some adults seemed like giants to you. Lightspeed Larry is re-living that in his twenties. Horrible genetics by the way.
O’Ryan: To his family and friends he is Rodney, to his opponents he is Kaiju. Trained in MMA, Sambo, and obviously wrestling. The man knows more ways to beat an opponent then Deep Blue.
The opponents shake and back off into their respective corners. The ref calls for the bell and the two begin to maneuver around each other. Kaiju makes the first move and takes Larry to the mat with a scoop and a slam. He applies a Kimura Lock and Larry immediately taps out. The crowd and commentary are stunned into silence.
O’Ryan: Well…damn.
Spencer: Wrestlers don’t get paid by the minute Marty.
The camera zooms in on Larry trying to get feeling back in his arm in the corner. As Kaiju exits the ring it cuts back to Jonathan and Luna Monroe watching the show in her office.
Monroe: Well that was quick…
Jonathan: We did tell them to make a strong impression.
It cuts back to Kaiju leaving the ring and acknowledging fans. Martin O’Ryan begins to speak and throws the show to a video package about Tigre Jr.. It opens on Tigre in his mask and casual street clothes walking through an arena.
Tigre Jr.: This…is where it all began. I was four years old, sitting in the “VIP” seats with mi madre. The first match was between a figure clad in a dark purple and black jumpsuit named Gargola and a mask less wrestler from Sweden named Jorgen Karlsonn. The bell ring, and those two took off. I could barely keep track of the action then it happened. Gargola sent Karlsonn to the outside then he ran across the ring, bounced off the ropes and landed a gorgeous handspring Moonsault. From that moment on, my future was decided. Tonight, I bring everything I’ve learned to Project: Wrestling. Mírame brillar.

When the show comes back, Frank Clover and Rei Igarashi already in the ring.
O’Ryan: Welcome back ladies and gentlemen, we’re ready to kick off our next match. Rei Igarashi in the orange and purple baggy pants and matching boots, and Frank Clover in the jeans.
The bell rings and the two meet in the middle of the ring. Frank extends his hand and Rei takes it only to twist it and attempt to lock Frank in a Cobra Clutch. Frank wrestles out of it and throws Rei over his shoulder and to the mat. Rei is right back on his feet only to charge recklessly into a Judo throw. He swears as he slams the mat and rolls out of the ring.
He takes a few seconds before rolling back in. Him and Frank circle each other again. Rei takes into the ropes and ducks under a Clothesline then ducks under a second.
He hooks Frank’s arm on the third run through and rolls him into a two count. Both men are right back to their feet and Frank is immediately knocked around by a flurry of elbow strikes. Rei tries to cap it off with a Rolling Elbow but Frank falls to the mat and rolls out of the ring. Rei doesn’t give him a moment to breath as he quickly rushes across the ring and lands a Fosbury Flop onto Frank to the delight of the audience.
Spencer: I thought at first Reis speed and reckless style would be his downfall but the junior heavyweights on a roll now!
Rei picks Frank up and rolls him into the ring. He climbs onto the apron and plays to the crowd. Frank stands up and staggers around. Rei hops on the top rope and jumps forward only to be caught in a Fujiwara Armbar from Frank Clover.
O’Ryan: Atta boy Frankie!
Rei begs int o scooch his way towards the ropes. The closer he gets the further back Frank pulls his arm. With the rope within Reis grasp, Frank releases the hold and rolls over, grabbing Reis waist. He stands up and brings Rei up and over with a Deadlift Bridging German Suplex.
Ref: 1…2…
Rei kicks out at the last second but Frank holds onto his waist and brings him to his feet again. Rei fights off a second and third Suplex attempt. Frank shrugs it off and lifts Rei off of his feet and dumps him into the corner. Rei hits the turnbuckle and staggers backwards into a Bridging Dragon Suplex that again only earns Frank a two count.
O’Ryan: I’m really starting to question this refs credentials.
Spencer: You sound kind of bi-
O’Ryan: Shut up!
Frank goes back to his submission playbook and tries to get Rei into some kind of hold. Rei fights out of it and crawls through Frank’s legs. He gets to his feet, and when Frank turns around he’s greeted by a boot to his jaw. Rei follows up with a back fist then an elbow strike. He yells out and hits the ropes. Frank follows him but Rei telegraphs it and springs off the second rope and connects with a European Uppercut.
Rei yells out again when he stands up. He pulls Frank to his feet but Frank counters with a Fujiwara Armbar that succeeds in making Rei tap.

Before the main event begins, a highlight reel of upcoming talent plays and ends with a ‘Coming Soon’ message. As the camera cuts back to live action, both Tommy Preston and Tigre Jr. are in the ring.
Spencer: Tigre Jr. a third generation high flyer originally from Mexico City. He’s been a pro for five years and has made his name in Mexico, Japan and in smaller promotions across the globe. Tommy Preston, the son of a real estate tycoon, and a national amateur champion in his native England. Highly technical, crafty as hell, and not afraid to throw down if it comes to it.
O’Ryan: And at ringside?
Spencer: She is simple known as The Duchess. A childhood friend of Mr. Prestons, a fellow member of British high class society, and the woman that got him his first break in pro wrestling. And my God she’s got a stare that could burn a hole through you, as Tigre Jr. is currently learning.
The two wrestlers cautiously approach the other before locking up. Tommy takes Tigre to the mat and attempts to lock in some sort of leg hold but Tigre pulls out of it and rolls to his feet. The two hesitantly circle the other waiting for some kind of move or opening.
Tommy takes initiative and darts for Tigers legs again but Tigre shuffles away and Tommy returns to his feet. The smirk he started the match with was slowly fading from his face.
They go in for a lock up but Tigre switches things up and goes behind Tommy and rolls him up for a one count. Both are back on their feet in no time and Tommy runs right into a Dropkick from Tigre. He rolls out of the ring, holding his jaw. He looks over to Duchess who gives him a nod. Tigre goes for a dive but stops himself as Tommy slides back into the ring.
He hops off the top rope and is immediately tackled by Tommy. Tommy tries to throw some punches from the mount but Tigre blocks. Tommy goes for plan b and tries to lock Tigre in a Kimura but Tigre grabs the ropes. Tommy doesn’t wait for the ref and stands up briefly dropping his knee into the solar plexus of Tigre.
Spencer: Goddamn I think I heard the wind fly out of him like popping a balloon…
Tigre rolls out of the ring as Tommy kneels patiently. After being checked on, Tigre returns to the ring, nursing his abdomen. Tommy stands up but gives Tigre space. Tigre approaches Tommy who starts to throw light slaps as he backs away from the advancing Luchador. Tommy backs up until he hits the ropes at which he throws a surprise strike with his other hand into Tigre’s throat.
The crowd boo but Tommy presses rolling up his opponent with a Small Package for a two count.instead of letting Tigre get to his feet, he grabs him by the mask and begins to drag him around the ring. The ref intervenes and when he prays Tommy off, the incensed Tigre cracks him across the face with a slap that puts Tommy on spaghetti legs
Tommy starts throwing wild punches. Tigre catches one of them, and goes behind Tommy. He Hammerlocks his arm before hitting a BackStabber. Tommy rolls towards the ropes while selling his arm. He rolls out of the ring and is almost instantly hit by a Sasuke Special from Tigre to a massive pop from the crowd. He soaks in the reaction as The Duchess retrieves Tommy.
Spencer: Tigre Jr. beginning to fire up and the crowd is loving it. He’s like some kind of tiger phoenix.
Marty: I’m more concerned with what the Duchess has up her sleeve…
Tigre turns back to his opponent to find him sitting on the mat, holding his arm while the ref is checking up on him. He starts to climb into the ring which is Tommy’s cue to start screaming in pain as the ref touches his arm. Tigre stops on the apron. Duchess comes up behind him and throws a Larait into the back of his knee. As Tigre thumps onto the porn, Tommy springs up and charges forward, knocking Tigre off the apron and to the floor with a knee strike.
Tommy quickly exits the ring, ignoring the booing and pulls Tigre up to his feet. He forces him back against the barricade and begins to lay into him repeated body strikes. He grabs him by the arm and whips him into the turnbuckle post. He doesn’t let the Luchador fall to the floor but instead grabs him and brings him back into the ring. He attempts a pin but only gets a two count.
Giving his opponent no to breath, Tommy immediately pulls him to his feet only to suffer a Jawbreaker for his trouble. Tommy staggers as Tigre recovers. Tigre stands up and tries for a boot but Tommy blocks and Tigre spins it right into a back elbow strike. Tommy staggers against the ropes and Tigre immediately grabs him and sends him to the mat with a Snap Jackhammer that only gets a two count.
Tigre repositions Tommy and grabs onto the top rope. He hyped up the crowd before springing off of it and landing a Phoenix Splash. He doesn’t go for the pin however and instead repositions Tommy again.
This time he climbs to the top rope but Tommy gets up before he can jump off. Tommy, however is still weak kneed, which allows Tigre to change course, jump back, and nail a Poisonrana.
The crowd cheers while both men take a moment of rest on the mat. Tigre is up first. He pulls Tommy into a kneeling position. He tries to lock in an Octopus Stretch but a brief jolt of adrenaline allows Tommy to change the move into a roll up for the three count…
