Oh you're playing word-games. Flair's association (and/or his energy drink) with AEW was likely keeping him away from a WWE deal. Now that it's ended, the door is wide open for a WWE return. But he chose to stop associating with WWE. He could have been with them this whole time and not done anything with AEW had he wanted. WWE wasn't preventing it, Ric wanted nothing to do with them. I'm sure he'll eventually go back but I'm not sure what it'll take. Thank you for trying to crush my hope. My Ric Flair fandom is equivalent to theman's Red & Yellow Hulk Hogan fandom. WWE was never going to promote Ric Flair while he was shilling his Energy Drink on AEW..... BUT.... they have been making little subtle overtures..... remember the "Ric Flair truck" thing with Cody Rhodes? Ric Flair probably just wanted to add AEW to his extensive 50+ year resume of big name companies that he's worked with over the course of his glorious career..... plus it sounds like AEW was willing to promote his Energy Drink so it just made sense. Sounds like the thrill of AEW has ended, and maybe it's time to come back to the flagship. Let's do this.

WWE would be stupid to not give Flair another contract for merch and stuff

Seeing him there 2019-2020 would have been fun, him and Cody Rhodes in a promo faceoff is really all I want from him at this point. Arn and Tully were there too. If he ends up back in the WWE family, I want his WWF blue and black looks complete with robes.

The deal was for his energy drink. All reports have said AEW didn't pay Flair and that his drink company was paying his appearances. AEW/Tony Khan announced he signed a deal and they also had a deal with his energy drink. All of these new reports from dirtsheets (which don't know everything and often guess/speculate and note that plans can change to cover their butt) can be interpreted in different ways. The way I read it was that the money that AEW made from the sponsorship deal more than covered what they paid Flair for his appearances. The reports are literally speculation, "Whether he has officially been released from his contract isn’t known, although it was noted that the Wooooo Energy sponsorship of AEW, which was paying for Flair, has ended." “Ric Flair and AEW appear to be done. Ric Flair hasn’t appeared on All Elite Wrestling TV in ages, and isn’t factored into any creative plans for the time being, Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp has learned … In addition, we’re told that the partnership between AEW and Wooo! Energy has effectively finished. The sponsorship related to the deal pretty well paid for Flair’s appearances in AEW.” These quotes and articles sound like AI wrote them. Also, Flair asked to be released from his WWE contract and WWE agreed - they seemeed to part on friendly terms. Speculation was that he wanted to go to AEW. That was right before the DSOTR episode hit and both companies distanced themselves from him (Flair complained about WWE removing the Woo from the opening). Flair parties through his cash - he isn't going to hold a grudge and let anything stop him from making money.

Hes one of the biggest legends in the sport. He should have an ultimate edition for every color of trunks he wore and an ultimate in a plastic suit with all the accessories

As far as suited ultimates go, there's very few people I feel would ever warrant one. Flair is one of them.

Sunglasses. Brass knuckles . Extra heads.

It's been awhile since I watched Flair but I swear that was a thing for him.

If we really do get Flair back in the line, what a great time to release a very early 80s elite with robe and ten pounds of gold.
