That's like the only thing I actually agree with Brian Last last about haha. That first quarter hour is completely meaningless.

If attendance wasn't as brutal as its been then I'd get down with the ratings not mattering much but there's obviously a direct correlation. A lot of people hate Brian Last, especially for this theory on removing the first quarter hour to get the true number but the ratings easily support his claim. There's ALWAYS a sizeable drop-off. They gotta fix the attendance numbers or just book smaller venues tbh

Smaller venues for now. There's no easy answer to improve the attendance or they'd have done it already. But shift to 5k arenas for the reg, even at 3k that'll look and sound better than in a 15k arena. I always go back to the Regina/Saskatoon shows cuz that's where I'm from lol but it's a good example. Regina is like a 6k arena for hockey but it was packed to the gills in the lower sections for wrestling at like 3k and being in that small of a building the acoustics for 3k people were way better and it was louder in person and on tv than the 3k Saskatoon show at Sask place that seats like 13k. (Saskatoon was Nick Wayne's debut, collision in Regina was Owen semi finals and FTR vs bullet club gold.) smaller arenas are the way to go. TNA has done very small arenas for years and it always feels bigger than it is.

There's no easy answer to improve the attendance or they'd have done it already. Consistently booking compelling tv that people actually wanna see would be a great start. Getting a talent over and immediately letting them fizzle out would be a good thing for them to improve as well.

Just look at Grand Slam. 20k to 5k in a couple years. That's a hellacious drop-off Many of the hardcore AEW fans quit watching and even more quit buying tix. I find it interesting that the blame(in the eyes of many AEW hardcores) is on the fans. For decades they blamed the company, or mainly one guy, but now they feel like Tony can do no wrong and it's someone else's fault. If the product isn't drawing viewers and selling tix then that's Tony and Co's fault.

I agree with both of these things needing improvement. I really enjoyed collision last night, but it's the first one in three weeks that I sat down to watch. Having hot talent fizzle has been a major problem since day one, it's been a constant cycle of groundhog Day in that regard. Identifying these issues is one thing, actually fixing them is likely a lot more difficult. Whether it's understanding how or convincing the right people what needs to be done, clearly there's a barrier or they'd have done it already is more what I was trying to say.

Grand slam looks dope.
Except for Jericho as usual.
But the rest I'm really excited for!

Hopefully they're handing out tickets like candy right now. 8k in Arthur Ashe isn't much at all I’ve heard reports of bogo deals the last couple days.
