After WrestleMania 17 - Owen is frustrated and angry that he couldn't get the job done against Undertaker, that on the next night after RAW. Owen attacks Undertaker with a led pipe again but not in the head but in the leg. Owen gloats on how he got back at The Undertaker for The Undertaker injuring him at Armageddon and that Undertaker may have defeated him at WrestleMania, but Owen has injured The Undertaker. Undertaker returns days before Backlash to challenge Owen to another match, but this time in a Steel Cage Match where there would be no where to run or hide.
Backlash 2001 - Owen and Undertaker pull out the stops in their intense rivalry inside the cage. Owen does get in Undertaker's skin inside the cage not only going for the legs but handcuffing The Phenom to the cage as it doesn't work. Taker breaks free of the handcuffs and just goes ape crazy on Owen. Taker continues to punish Owen to the point and rams him to the cage and Taker bodyslams Owen to the cage so much that one of the cage walls give way and Owen falls through the door. But his feet still do not touch the ground. Taker then gets out of the cage and tries to pick Owen up for the Last Ride and as he does so. Owen hits a low blow and is able to get out of the broken cage with his feet touching the arena floor. Owen scores the biggest win of his life similar to what he did at WrestleMania 10 over his brother Bret Hart, but this is a new big win of his career for The Rocket.
After Backlash - After the victory, Owen would face Undertaker off again in a #1 Contenders Match at Judgment Day with Owen winning the match thanks with help from Triple H. Triple H & Undertaker will have their 2001 feud and their first PPV Match ever at Judgment Day in a Chain Match while Owen becomes the #1 Contender for the World Wrestling Federation Championship, and that Championship is held by Stone Cold Steve Austin who is still a face. Austin still doesn't turn heel after WrestleMania 17. Owen and Austin's history is reminded way back of 1997 when Owen tried to put Austin out of action with a Botched Tombstone Piledriver at Summerslam 1997. Just 6 days before Judgment Day after Austin successfully defends the WWF Championship against The Big Show. Owen Hart runs in and attacks Austin and then attempts to use the Tombstone Piledriver on Austin but Owen lets go of Austin and instead, he hits the Stunner on Austin and not only that steals the WWF Championship. On the go-home show of SMACKDOWN. Stone Cold Steve Austin gets his redemption and attempts to kidnap Owen in his pickup truck and tries to reclaim the WWF Championship. But Owen escapes with his life and still takes the WWF Title.
Judgment Day 2001 - Owen & Austin fight similar to their 1997 Summerslam encounter. Owen attempts to injure the neck of Austin but Austin does everything he can to avoid being injured by Owen. However in the middle of the match with the referee down. Owen and Austin fight to the outside with Austin shoving Owen into the announce table and just as Austin tries to get back at Owen. Owen out of nowhere clobbers Austin with the Ring Bell busting Austin wide open. Austin loses a lot of blood, but still determined to fight through. Owen uses the sharpshooter on Austin and it's similar to what Bret did at WrestleMania 13, but this time it's Owen trying to make Austin pass out. Austin somehow fights back and nails Owen with a steel chair shot busting him open as well. It's a bloodbath between Austin and Owen. The referee however sees Austin with the chair and disqualifies Austin for it. Austin is stunned that he pummels the hell out of Owen so much and attempts a sharpshooter of his own but Owen is able to retreat. Austin goes to the outside to try to get at Owen but Owen uses the same led pipe similar to what he did to The Undertaker hits Austin in the head with it. Oficials and referees have to separate the two. But Owen does not stop and grabs the steel steps and this time he nails Austin with the Tombstone Piledriver, but it is not severe like the 1997 Summerslam.
After Judgment Day - Owen gloats about how he finally ended the career of Stone Cold Steve Austin, but WWF Commissioner William Regal said that Austin suffered minor damage to his neck, and that Austin and Owen would have one more match at the 2001 King of The Ring, but this time in a Last Man Standing Match for the WWF Title. Owen accepts. On May 28, 2001. Owen takes on Steve Blackman, a man who Owen had history with in 1998. Just as Blackman is about to beat the #1 Contender. WCW's Lance Storm appears out of nowhere and attacks Steve Blackman with the superkick and Owen is in shock about this. Owen wins the match not without controversy. WWF Superstars & Referees and even commissioner William Regal & Stone Cold Steve Austin start to question Owen about his motives in WCW and Owen Hart denying that he's a part of WCW with Shane McMahon. Some of the WWF Superstars still question Owen that his brother Bret had history with WCW. But more and more everytime when Owen's in matches. Another WCW Superstar comes down to distract Owen's opponent allowing Owen to win the match, on the go-home RAW show before King of The Ring. Austin is about to interrogate Owen about where his motives lie in WCW. Owen begins to walk out, but out comes Mark Jindrak, Sean O. Haire, Chuck Palumbo, Kanyon, Lance Storm, Hugh Morrus, The Cat, Vito and Norman Smiley all surround the ring to attack Austin. It's a 9 on 1 beatdown as Team WCW kicks the hell out of Austin. Owen grabs a Steel Chair and begins to chase off the rest of the WCW Superstars. The WCW Superstars retreat from the crowd. Owen then takes a seat in the chair and grabs a microphone telling Austin that he's not a part of WCW but Austin will be the one embarassed when Owen takes the WWF Championship away from Austin.
King of The Ring 2001 - Austin and Owen have one of the most brutal Last Man Standing Matches in WWF History, there is no WCW Intereference. Owen and Austin let it all hang out with Owen using a Tombstone Piledriver on the Steel Steps similar to Judgment Day but somehow Austin manages to get to his feet at the count of 9. Austin is able to retain the WWF Title after hitting Owen with a Stone Cold Stunner and knocking him out with the WWF Championship Belt. Austin retains the title, but after the match. the nWo (Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and Hollywood Hogan) make their return to attack Stone Cold Steve Austin. Owen somehow gets to his feet and tries to help Austin fight off the nWo. But Booker T, WCW Champion, Diamond Dallas Page and Scott Steiner all come down. It's a 6 on 2 attack, many of the WWF Superstars try to help but the WCW Superstars overwhelm them similar to the SMACKDOWN Undersiege on RAW in 2017. The WWF Superstars are laid out by the entire WCW Roster.
After King of The Ring - Shane McMahon fired the first shot by bringing in the Invasion after the biggest Last Man Standing Match between Owen and Austin. Owen is not seen after King of The Ring and there are rumours stating that Owen Hart may have walked out of the company. The Invasion still happens. The main event will be a 6v6 as Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, The Undertaker, Kane, Chris Jericho and Vince McMahon will take on Shane McMahon, Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Booker T and The Big Show. The Big Show joins WCW on July 9, 2001 by betraying Stone Cold Steve Austin in a Tag Team Match.
Invasion 2001 - Just before the main event, WWF & WCW are in a back and forth as they are tied, but just before the main event begins. Vince McMahon is found attacked. So Austin, Taker, Kane, Jericho and Angle, all 5 of them go alone, so it's a 6 on 5. Team WWF are holding their own against Team WCW. All hell begins to break loose, the referee is knocked out. Then suddenly familiar music is played and it's Bret Hart's music. Bret Hart makes his first WWF Appearance for the first time in 4 years and not only that he brings in Owen, and everyone thinks that Owen Hart will take Vince McMahon. It's now going to be 6 on 6. Angle and Booker are the two men left in the ring while everybody is knocked out outside. Taker and DDP fight through the crowd. Kane, Hall, Nash, Jericho, Austin and Hogan are all laid out. Owen enters the ring to be tagged in. And just when Owen starts to attack Booker. He turns around and beats up Kurt Angle, Bret Hart begins to laugh. It turns out Owen Hart was involved with WCW all the time. Owen forces Kurt's hand to be tagged in but Owen decides one more thing to do to Kurt. Owen grabs Kurt feeding him to Booker T and Booker T hits the bookend on Kurt giving Team WCW the win. Austin gets to his feet and stuns Booker and goes to tackle Owen but the winning team go right for Austin. Hogan grabs the WWF Title Belt and hits Austin in the skull with it while Owen is still beating down Kurt. Jericho & Kane try to help but they're also outnumbered. Bret Hart enters the ring and hugs Shane McMahon. Owen also hugs Shane McMahon as well, then suddenly Eric Bischoff appears on stage and also enters the ring with Team WCW. The nWo spraypaint over Austin, Angle, Jericho and Kane's body.
After Invasion - The next night on RAW. Owen explains his action and says that Shane McMahon made him a deal after WrestleMania 17 after he lost to The Undertaker that would promise him a spot on the WCW Roster. Owen says that he was tired of all the people accusing him and that he was using the WWF so that WCW would put him in a good word for him. Owen says that the WWF had always screwed him over back in 1997 because of the Montreal Screwjob with Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels and that they had nothing for him because he was using The Rock, Shawn Michaels, Kurt Angle, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Triple H and The Undertaker as his top guys. But where's Owen Hart. Being used in raunchy storylines and then trying to act like The Blue Blazer made him sick to his stomach. Owen then shoots on Vince McMahon saying that Vince made him miserable and that's why Vince uses his WWF guys to make a mockery out of Owen. Owen says that when he won the WWF Title at the 1999 Survivor Series. He wasn't getting respect when he was WWF Champion, so that's why he dropped the title to Triple H in 2000. Because they wouldn't make Owen WWF Champion material just like his brother. So he needed a break and like he always says "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH AND IT'S TIME FOR A DAMN CHANGE"! so that's why he left WWF to go to WCW. Owen then begins to go after Kurt Angle as well saying that he disgraced the American Fans after he lost at Invasion and that he made him disgrace the American Fans for that. Kurt comes in and begins to attack Owen but he retreats. Owen and Kurt have encounters with one another. Owen and Kurt's tension gets so bad that a match is booked at Summerslam between the two. Owen has the sharpshooter and Kurt has the anklelock. Owen and Kurt agree to face each other with Kurt utilzing a stipulation, a 30-Minute Ultimate Submission Match. Owen accepts. On the go-home show edition of SMACKDOWN. Owen Hart does an Owen Hart Invitional Submission Match. He squashes 3 local jobbers by making all of them tap out. Kurt Angle comes down to try to get his hands on Owen but he is distracted by Bret Hart and that allows Owen to attack Kurt and deliver the sharpshooter on Kurt before referees and officials stop Owen from injuring Kurt.
2001 Summerslam - Owen and Kurt put on the best Summerslam Matchup ever, it is tied at 3-3 between Owen and Angle, both men are exhausted. But Owen eventually gets the win by breaking the tie hitting the sharpshooter with 5 seconds left to spare giving Owen his first victory over Kurt Angle.
After Summerslam - Owen boasts and brags about his victory over Angle saying that he's knocked off The Undertaker and now Kurt Angle. The entire WCW Roster hold a celebration for Owen Hart until Kurt Angle comes out in a milk truck and sprays the entire WCW Roster and Owen Hart. Even in defeat. Angle still plays mind games with Owen. The next week though Owen attacks Kurt and steals Kurt's gold medals. Owen then tosses Kurt's medals off the river. Kurt tries to get redemption by throwing Owen off the bridge but instead Kurt tosses Owen into a kiddy pool. Owen is humilated and embarassed. The storylines are hashed out cause of the September 11, 2001 incident. But Owen and Kurt's rivalry returns with Kurt challenging Owen to another match at Unforgiven. Owen accepts the match. On the go-home edition of SMACKDOWN After Kurt defeats Lance Storm. Owen Hart comes out and attacks Kurt and delivers a piledriver, on the same show. Owen battles Tajiri for the WCW United States Championship and wins the title, but Owen's celebration is cut short as Kurt Angle appears with neckbrace in hand and says that now that Owen won the United States Title. He wants to take the United States Title and win it for the good old USA.
Unforgiven 2001 - Owen & Kurt face off for the United States Championship in one of the biggest United States Title matches ever. The match goes 20-25 minutes. Owen attempts to win the match by hitting a piledriver but Angle reverses it by hitting the Angle Slam and following it up with the anklelock to win the match and winning the United States Championship going over Owen cause of the 9/11 issue. The plan in this rebooking is to have Angle win the United States Title in a feel good ending.
After Unforgiven - Owen & Angle's feud will still continue but Rob Van Dam will be put into the mix, he's not in WCW. The ECW Alliance doesn't happen either. The Dudleys. Rhyno. Tazz. Raven and the rest of the ECW Roster are still loyal WWF Fans. RVD scores 2 wins over Owen & Angle that Commissioner Foley books a Triple Threat Match between Owen Hart, Rob Van Dam and Kurt Angle at No Mercy for the WWF United States Championship.
No Mercy 2001 - Owen, Kurt and RVD put on one of the all time Triple Threat Matches for the United States Championship, but once again. Owen recaptures the United States Championship of course with help from his brother Bret.
After No Mercy - Owen will be involved in the 7v7 Winner Take All Survivor Series Elimination Match. Team WCW will be Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Goldberg, Ric Flair, Booker T and Owen Hart taking on the tag team of Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, The Undertaker, Kane, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho and the 2001 King of The Ring Winner Edge. Owen's brother Bret will get his 4-year redemption on Vince McMahon for the Montreal Screwjob.
Survivor Series 2001 - Team WCW wins with guess who? Owen is the sole survivor he defeats Stone Cold Steve Austin with help from Hulk Hogan who's already been eliminated. Plus in the middle of the match, Chris Jericho turns on the WWF to join the WCW Brand. Bret gets his redemption on Vince but gets himself disqualified giving Vince the win. But Team WCW has now taken control of the WWF!.
After Survivor Series - WCW has now taken control of the WWF meaning that Nitro and Thunder are back. Eric Bischoff announces that the WWF Superstars can stay even though it's different, But Bischoff does fire Vince McMahon. Bischoff then announces that at Starrcade since Owen Hart was the sole survivor, he would take on The Rock for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship while Hulk Hogan will take on Stone Cold Steve Austin for the WWF Title at Starrcade. Hogan's already beat Austin at Summerslam for the title in this rebooking but Austin took the belt back at No Mercy. Owen is excited that he won the Survivor Series Winner Take All Elimination Match proclaiming himself the real true sole survivor and that he would defeat The Rock to win the WCW Title at Starrcade. The Rock makes jokes and insults of Owen and the Hart Family, typical Rock jokes. Owen takes offense of it by attacking The Rock.
Starrcade 2001 - Owen and The Rock are the next to last in the main event. This is a good solid 20-25 minute match between the two, but just like 1997. Owen cheats to win by defeating The Rock to win his first WCW Championship making Owen a double champion. Owen already has the United States Championship & The WCW Championship meaning that Owen has joined the likes of former WWF Superstars to win the WCW Championship.
After Starrcade - 2002 begins and Owen is on a Natural High ever since joining the Alliance, becoming the sole survivor in the 2001 Survivor Series Match, defeating The Undertaker at Backlash. And now winning the WCW Title over The Rock at Starrcade. Owen is so confident that he wants to defend the WCW Title in the Royal Rumble Match and that he can win and go on to WrestleMania to unify the titles with Hulk Hogan.
2002 Royal Rumble - Owen enters at the First World War Royal Rumble at #1 with 59 participants and lasts all the way. However Owen is unsuccessful as Triple H returns to win the 2002 Royal Rumble by last eliminating Owen and winning the WCW Championship.
After the 2002 Royal Rumble - Owen is upset and demands a rematch with Triple H at Souled Out for the WCW Championship. He attacks Edge in his anger setting up a potential feud between Owen and Edge at WrestleMania. Owen then targets Triple H's knees on the go home show of No Way Out on RAW by ruining Triple H's marriage of Stephanie after Stephanie lied about being pregnant and joining WCW. Stephanie will be in Owen's corner to try to take the WCW Title from Triple H.
2002 Souled Out - Stephanie is in Owen's corner. Owen tries his best to take back the WCW Championship, but he ultimately fails to win it again as Triple H defeats him with help from Edge.
After 2002 Souled Out - So Edge wants to challenge for Owen's United States Championship. Owen wants to get his revenge on Edge for costing him the WCW World Heavyweight Championship that a match is made between the two canadians at WrestleMania 18. Before WrestleMania, Owen is on the "Off The Record" with Michael Landsburg. Owen talks about where he had a dream of the 1999 Over The Edge. "I dreamed that I was back on May 23, 1999. Kansas City". I was dressed as my old character that I dispised so much, the Blue Blazer and that I was untop of the rafters about to do a superhero like entrance, but suddenly the cable went down and I fell 75 feet through the ceiling and I can hear in my dream saying "Owen Fell, Owen Fell". Then in the next dream I hear that Jim Ross says "Owen Hart has tragically died from that accident in Kansas City and I woke up screaming". I remember looking back at 1999 Over The Edge saying what if that Cable broke and this was my last time ever in the WWF. But I'm glad that I survived the superhero stunt and wanted to get the Blue Blazer storyline done because I told Vince before the show that after I do the Blue Blazer, I wanna go back to be Owen. After I won the Intercontinental Title, I now remember Vince saying "Finally we have a spot for you, that made me respect Vince more".
WrestleMania 18 - It's WrestleMania 18 and Owen has come off an incredible 2001 and a great start to 2002 as the WCW World Heavyweight Champion, that he faces his fellow canadian Edge. The two put on a great 15-20 minute match with the fans cheering for both men. Owen tries to make Edge submit by using the sharpshooter but Edge hangs on to the ropes. Owen then hits a tombstone on Edge but Edge kicks out. Edge is able to fight back and puts Owen away with a spear to get the win and ending Owen's 5-month reign as the WCW United States Champion.
After WrestleMania 18 - After WrestleMania, the WWF will get the control back. Vince McMahon does not fire Eric Bischoff and the rest of his WCW Stars because Eric Bischoff never fired his WWF Stars, only Vince McMahon but Vince announces a brand split for both RAW & SMACKDOWN and makes Eric Bischoff General Manager of RAW and Stephanie McMahon the general manager for SMACKDOWN.
That ends the Invasion Era, let's see how well Owen Hart will do in the Ruthless Aggression Era, will he join RAW or SMACKDOWN?. Will he be involved in new speciality matches?. And will he have another title reign?.
