I’m pretty sure it’s a slide bubble so the card doesn’t have to be attached with glue. He is literally attaching a trading card to the cardboard though (it has a little plastic sleeve). I’m not sure how that adheres exactly; some kind of sticker I imagine.

The back of the robe was disappointing in that there was nothing to it (good or hilariously bad). It looked fine. Just has his name on it.

I’ve always heard that Presidents are essentially public domain but the more I look into it, the more that seems to be one of those things that gets repeated with little case law to actually back it up. Sounds more complicated than I had originally imagined.

So Sal has gone off the deep end.

Full disclosure: I am not actually affiliated with the guys from 3POA. Just a listener/fan/friendly towards them.

There were jokes made in poor taste that Sal is trying to claim are death threats against him. It was clearly spelled out that the host did not wish that upon anyone.

Sal appears to be, in my opinion, not okay right now. If he is feigning outrage and wanting to try and cancel Jamie/Dan for some immature jokes made on Facebook that would be one thing. But I’m watching his IG video right now as he is SCREAMING at his computer screen and becoming absolutely unhinged. He is ranting, raving, and cursing like a madman about things that he clearly doesn’t understand, confusing himself in the process, and flat-out lying. It makes me feel bad for actual victims when things like this happen.

well, apparently he's received "death treats" according to his IG post, which is an odd way to describe it but once again, the scam artist is playing victim.

I was waiting to hear his neighbours pounding on the wall telling the madman to (once again) keep the noise down! it is clear he's unhinged, and sadly social media is just fuelling his issues further. let's just hope Sal can get the proper treatment he needs.

yes Sal, you could have resolved the problems that even he now admits are his figures by addressing this right at the start - "Hi guys, I've cut corners, and as such I've received sub-par quality figures, so I'm working with my factory to replace them with a better quality figure for you" would have been a way to communicate the issue with your buyers, and you could have then gone back to your factory and remade them to a better quality. or, you could have called out the problems you had with them during the design stage if you'd actually had one.

None of us can prove or disprove if he received death threats some time ago. He says he deleted them and/or blocked those people involved. Speaking from personal experience, I know the difference between an arbitrary death threat online and a real life threat to your life. Neither are okay but one is far more serious than the other. His behavior over this is closer to the latter and it is all over some dark and inappropriate humor at his expense.

These were not threats by any stretch and his attempt to connect the dots by saying even joking about it could lead to some crazy person actually doing it is just absurd. As I said before, he is not okay. That is not reasonable logic. It legit concerns me how worked up he got over this. It isn’t healthy and I’m not sure he recognizes that at this time.

I think there’s a greater chance of some deranged person being offended by the bloody variant over anyone from the Facebook group going after him. But in reality he has so little exposure and he’s part of such a small circle, I don’t think anyone would even notice.

The red face pic was in poor taste and it was an immature thing to do. Not going to defend that. I see the humor in it but I’m also not the target of that humor and can understand how or why someone could be upset over that. But in no way, shape, or form is that an actual threat nor is the response gif actually encouraging that someone do that. The amount of rage in his voice and his actions where he would go from 0-60 in a split second is what I found to be the most disturbing. I do understand that there are insane people out there who do awful things every day but to sit there and pretend and get worked up about it as if a small niche podcast is going to put you and your family at risk despite the fact many of its listeners are thousands of miles away…that’s just a factory full of red flags.

Without getting too political, I think you hit the nail on the head: he seems far more likely to upset someone unstable by making the figure depicting an attempted assassination. That seems like the toy maker could be supporting the effort or celebrating violence. For those reasons alone, I wouldn’t want to put my life or my family’s life at risk.

he's claiming that his version doesn't infringe of the Universal (copyrighted) design, so he's using public domain as his justification for releasing that figure without a specific licence

I was just joking, mate... after the whole PN News debacle in the other thread. Sal's Frankenstein is definitely lifted from the Jack Pierce make-up but he's no longer around and the overall likeness has slipped further into public domain, as you say.
