Greg Gagne was on Busted Open today and briefly talked PowerTown. He said from development to market takes 9 months but they would like to get it to where they have merchandise every month. They can only do 3, hopefully 4, Ultra waves a year. Says they have some surprises that will shock everybody when we see what they have coming up. No mention of any announcements or the next preorders. 3 or 4 waves a year seems kinda crazy (in a good way) for a 3rd party figure maker. exciting to hear this is possible for them, it's one of my favorite lines.

Three series kind of sounds like a sweet spot. With all the other figures being produced and marketed, an additional series for this special of a line might dilute things a bit.
Also it sounds like TNA got some good(ish) news this week with a possible semi-permanent home for tapings. Hopefully that keeps people employed and the line continuing on instead of being sold off for scraps/having people lose their jobs/forcing PowerTown to end the line instead of crossing it.

I wonder if they sold enough to warrant a 2nd series? Based on the reception on here - I wouldn't think so. I wouldn't base it on the reception on here, at least until Powerhouse says different...Plus they said Series 2 was already planned for Pre-Order this year

So much negativity on here about TNA figures.
This line has opened up so many opportunities for wrestlers and for collectors we should Be supporting them and not being negative.
I for one ordered the TNA regardless price point. I think this line will be a success and we can see many TNA and other stars in the future

I have a feeling Randy Savage turns up in this line sooner rather than later...

I'll never understand why this line deviated from the legends of wrestling... to a brand that has as little appeal to collectors or the masses as TNA. They don't even have a roster that people would want figures of outside of maybe Joe Hendry and the upcoming Jordan. Outside of those two, who wants TNA figures in 2024? GCW and NJPW have more relevance at this point. Hawkins is the answer to that question. They have 200 legends signed and the whole gimmick was to help the old timers. Then they got a stupid tna wrench thrown in to clog up future product right behind the majors pack. You don’t think the line getting more of an audience will help? TNA is a very small niche but it’s still bigger than a “legends” line. Sure other things got pushed back (I guess?) but in the long run it should help PowerTown

Have they fixed international shipping yet?
When I looked, to ship 1 TNA figure to Australia, it was well over $100 just for shipping. Can't remember if Ultras wave 1 was like that because I ordered the full set. I can't commit to full waves every time, so disappointing if you can't order 1 figure are a somewhat reasonable shipping price.

Awfully quiet with Powertown. I thought we’d see some renders now for ultras 2. I still think they will relist the TNAs again first. Ugh.

Patiently waiting for the Ultras series 2 PO or for a Stan Hansen waffle maker, whatever comes first.

This unfortunately seems to be a regular thing for them, and while fans can be very impatient, it's starting to border on unacceptable. I know, work in silence but this seems like a lot...

This exactly. Especially considering that on that podcast that was out early February, he specifically said he had 6 to 7 months of announcements out. For the Remcos, they had a reveal a week for 6 weeks until all the figures were shown, they could do that with all their lines just to get news out there. We also saw renders of the Wahoo had and Kamala figure at that time, so I am sure they have the rest done too. I just don't get the lack of news.

I'm also not sure why they haven't promoted any cons either, especially the wrestling centric ones. That's like primo promotional time, for the TNA line definitely but even the Ultras which I bet a lot of people don't even know they exist. I kind of expected a bit more with the Majors involved.

I will fully admit I never listen to the Major Figs podcast (or any podcast for that matter) but just from observation, they always seem like they are mainly out for themselves - I mean how many companies need to make figures of Cardona and Myers? Coming soon to Vice TV - Who Killed Powertown....

Coming soon to Vice TV - Who Killed Powertown.... I mean they are independent contractors and it’s wise to strike while the iron is hot. Make money when and how it can be made. Also as figure collectors and aficionados who have a very specific/enthusiastic following, it makes sense to put out as much product to appeal to as many people as you can. That isn’t just money in their pockets for the figures but it’s money for every fan who comes and pays to get their figures autographed. It keeps people talking about them in every line. And at the end of the day, they are fans. Sure there is a degree of ego involved but tell me you never thought about how cool it would be to see yourself in different toy lines! I don’t agree with them on everything and that’s well documented. Time will tell with how the whole TNA deal shakes out. I’ve been an armchair quarterback about it in this thread because it felt like the wrong move from the outside looking in. I would be happy to be wrong and want to see PT thrive. But I really don’t begrudge Matt and Brian for being involved with as many lines as possible. The show may not be for everyone but I still think it’s worth listening to and encourage others to do so if they haven’t. They are entertaining and offer a good amount of knowledge and insight into the figure world and the wrestling world. They have made a good push towards creating content for YouTube that isn’t a 1-3 hour commitment so maybe give that a shot at some point and see if one of their videos is more your style. *I was in no way paid for this endorsement. Just making efforts towards being less of an a-hole*

Not taking the time to go back and look, but it sounds like they had kind of trashed Powertown at the start, then suddenly they had glowing things to say about them, right around the time that Powertown announced the 2 pack of those guys. Felt a bit like "we will trash your company unless you sign us and make figures of us" kind of thing.
