Cline: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Kansas City native Melissa Ethridge to sing the national anthem. And supporting her is the Kansas City injured veterans band. We can think of no better way to start Smackdown than with these hometown heroes. Please stand...
(As the band tunes up, another sound is heard. Sirens blare and the arena is filled with flashing lights. “Holla if ya hear meeeee....” And the nWo music fills the arena as everything goes to black and white. Steiner storms out. As security tries to stop him, he drops man after man. Coming to the band, one tries to put a hand on him only to get suplexed onto the ramp. He kicks out another man's fake leg and tosses a third into the steel stairs. Grabbing a mic, he climbs into the ring.)
JR: What a shameful display. These are war heroes. Men who lost limbs, fighting for their country. And he is assaulting these injured men.
Steiner: Shawn Michaels. Get the hell out here. I will destroy everything until you get your cowardly ass out here. (looking at Etheridge) Everything...
JR: Oh, don't do this.
Tenay: Injured or not, the men are military. This is an old woman, not a trained fighter. I can't believe even Steiner would sink so low...
(As Steiner backs her into the corner, the Rock's music hits. Steiner turns in fury as Rock races down.)
JR: Thank God, someone has come to stop this madness.
(As Rock dives into the ring, Etheridge flees. The two men start brawling. The fight quickly spills out of the ring and dozens of security come running out to separate them. Steiner is dragged out of the arena, screaming profanities at everyone.)
Tenay: And we haven't even started, ladies and gentlemen.
(We cut to a recap of Main Event. We see Kennedy get pinned, costing the New Bloods their hopes of getting Orton back. Rhyno gets the quick gore on Hart, killing their tactic of a lumberjack match. And we see Hall grab the ropes when Joe is choking him, getting a DQ to retain his title. We move into the Smackdown intro, “Rise Up” playing. After the video plays, we cut back to the ring, where Kennedy and Morgan are already waiting for Hurricane.)
Ken Kennedy w/ Matt Morgan v Hurricane
JR: It is too late for Randy Orton. But the New Bloods have vowed revenge on the man who cost their leader his job. And with Matt Morgan as special enforcer, it looks bad for Hurricane.
(Hurricane's music hits and he comes out to the ring. As he plays to the crowd, Kennedy grabs him from behind and hits a quick sneak Mic check. Despite the attack, Hurricane kicks out at two. Kennedy goes for a Swanton, but Hurricane gets the knees up. Before Kennedy can recover, Hurricane is dominating him with fast paced offense.)
Tenay: Hurricane is outclassed. He is merely drawing out the inevitable.
JR: We are watching different matches. Hurricane is overcoming odds after a sneak attack. He is every bit the superhero he claims.
(He gets distracted by Morgan, allowing Kennedy to pull him into the turnbuckle. He wears Hurricane down. The two men go back and forth, with Kennedy using a cheap eye poke to stop momentum. As he tries to drag Hurricane up, he motions to Morgan. As he stands, Morgan hits the Carbon Footprint, dropping Kennedy.)
Tenay: That was not a mistake this time. Hurricane was nowhere near that kick.
(Morgan grabs Hurricane and tosses him on top of Kennedy. He demands the ref count the three. Staring down at Kennedy, he lifts Hurricane's hand.)
JR: I don't know what happened here. But I doubt we have seen the last of this.
(Cutting backstage, we see Scott Steiner in a cop car. Commissioner Foley comes up.)
Steiner: So you finally got your fat ass back here to get these pieces of trash to let me go?
Foley: Oh, no. I have had it up to here with you. It's bad enough you attacked my champion. It's bad enough you brutalized Chyna. But you are not going to attack innocent people. These officers are going to give you some time in county to reconsider the errors of your ways. (to the cops) Get him out of here.
(As the car takes off, we can hear Steiner screaming threats at Foley.)
Intercontinental Championship
Rhyno (c) v Billy Kidman
(Rhyno's strength takes on Kidman's speed and high flying. The two men are equally matched, despite their very different skill sets. After a crazy back and forth, Kidman drops Rhyno and goes for the Shooting Star press, but he moves at the last second. Bounding off the ropes, Rhyno goes the kneeling Kidman and gets the pin, retaining the belt.)
JR: It is fantastic to see two men compete with pride, dignity, class, and sportsmanship. And Rhyno is raising Kidman's hand.
Tenay: But someone else has a different idea.
(Bret Hart comes out.)
Hart: You got lucky at Main Event. It was a one in a million shot. You could never do it again, if your life depended on it. I want that belt, and you had better believe I will get it.
(The two men stare each other down as we go to
COMMERCIAL
(We come back to Eugene in the arena, high fiving everyone and playing around with fans. He grabs a mic and slides into the ring,)
Eugene: I love joining all my friends in Kansas City. There is nothing better than spending time with friends...except for maybe making new ones. I...
(William Regal's music hits and he comes out.)
Regal: You know, my boy, perhaps I have been too hard on you. You just want to have fun. You want to make friends. I tell you what. If you can do 100 pushups in a row, I think I will be your friend.
(Eugene gets excited and drops down, quickly racking up the tally. At about 70, Regal kicks him square in the ribs and starts laying into him. He quickly locks on the Regal stretch.)
Regal: I don't care how many push ups you can do, you stupid little worm. That you fell for such an obvious scam shows that you have no business in the FWA, you miserable little toe rag. (releasing him) I will make your worthless little life miserable until you quit, Eugene. You can count on that.
(We see the Pride backstage, Lashley off to one side. Alpha Male storms up to him.)
Alpha Male: What the hell was that at Main Event?
Lashley: YOU have a problem with R-Truth. I do not.
Alpha Male: WRONG! The PRIDE has a problem with R-Truth. That means you have a problem with R-Truth. Don't forget, Bob, you are my bitch. You have a problem with whoever I tell you to have a problem with.
(They stare at each other for a tense moment before Alpha Male cuts through the curtain to the ring.)
United States Championship
MVP (c) v R-Truth
(The Flock surround the ring as Truth comes out. He rushes into the ring, interrupting his dance, before they know what happened and starts laying into MVP. The champ tries to get out of the ring, but Truth pulls him back in and tosses him around the ring. After several straight minutes of beating, MVP manages to get away, looking to Lashley for help. As Truth launches himself over the ropes, MVP pulls Lashley into the way, taking the hit for him.)
JR: What a cowardly move.
Tenay: Cowardly or not, it was good strategy. And it has to please Alpha Male to see that his acquisition is being put back in his place.
(The switch doesn't faze Truth who immediately goes after MVP again. He batters him back into the ring and quickly hits the axe kick. Before he can get the pin, Lashley slides in and hits a massive spear, actually knocking Truth out of his boots.)
JR: Damn, I thought we had a new United States Champion.
Tenay: People may not like how he does it, but a W is a W. MVP keeps his title another day.
(Lashley starts screaming at R-Truth that he gave him a pass. Lifting him, Lashley hits a Dominator style bomb. He stands over Truth's prone body as the fans boo, taunting the fallen competitor.)

(We come back to Los Guerreros theme. They ride out in a beautiful low rider truck, both already holding mics.)
Chavo: Ondale Kansas City. We know that the FWA universe did not get its dose of Latino Heat at Main Event. And we are here tonight to give you your fix.
Eddie: Right now, Commissioner Foley is busy with la policia and cannot fulfill his duties to run the show. So...(he smirks at Chavo) We decided to do it. Tonight, for the first time ever, you get to see Los Guerreros be Los Commissioners.
Tenay: What the hell? They can't do this!
JR: I think they are doing it, Mike Tenay.
Chavo: So, we thought, what is an amazing match that we can book that you have never seen before. And it came to us. The Icon, Sting versus a Road Warrior.
Eddie: And the only one he has never gotten in the ring with is Heidenreich. So tonight, we fix that. Let's get the chaos started!
Tenay: What a blockbuster match. Viva los commissioners.
JR: I thought you were against them taking over.
Tenay: I mean, I was. But what an amazing match.
Sting v Road Warrior Heidenreich
(Sting and Heidenreich both make their way to the ring, giving Los Guerreros odd looks as they do. As the bell rings, our guest commissioners take spots at the announcer's table. The two warriors lock up, but neither is able to overpower the other. They trade chops, and then clotheslines, and shoulder blocks. Each shrugs the other off, and Sting does his trademark yell. Grabbing Heidenreich in a side headlock, he rains blows down and whips him into the ropes, only to get tackled.)
JR: Sting is not a small man, but Heidenreich just bowled him over.
Eddie: Heidenreich is a beast. I had to face him in the Royale Rumble before Wrestlemania 3. It took 8 of us to get him out of the ring, and he took 3 of us with him.
Chavo: Heidenreich may not be as smart as Sting, or as good of a tactician. But, when you're that big, you really don't need much else. We don't see people toss around Sting very often. But we're seeing it now.
(Clubbing Sting down, Heidenreich tries to keep him off his feet. He tosses him around, but Sting starts fighting back, chopping from his knees, then getting to his feet. Shrugging off a blow, he pounds on his chest and drops RWH. While he is stunned, Sting lifts the bigger man in a belly to belly. Using all his strength, Sting hip tosses RWH across the ring.)
Tenay: And that is nothing short of impressive. He returned the favor. It may have taken everything out of him, but Sting showed he can go toe to toe with a much bigger foe.
Eddie: But can he keep it up?
(RWH stumbles back into the corner. Sting hits a Stinger Splash, but Heidenreich doesn't fall. He holds on. Sting hits another, but still doesn't drop him. On the third try, RWH steps forward and catches Sting in a surprise spinning Road Warrior Side slam. He only gets a two count.)
Chavo: Holy crap, we have never seen Sting negated like that. Has anyone ever reversed the Stinger Splash like that?
Tenay: Not in a very very long time.
(RWH lifts up on his shoulders, but Sting uses his last strength to slide down behind. He catches Heidenreich in the Scorpion Death Drop and gets a quick 3.)
JR: And just like that, Sting overcomes the odds and defeats yet another challenger. There is a reason he is the Icon, and has dominated this sport for decades.
Eddie: We saw magic tonight. And do not forget who brought this to you. Viva la...
(As Sting and Heidenreich shake hands, Foley's music hits and he comes storming out.)
Foley: What the hell do you two think that you are doing out here?
Chavo: That's easy, homes. We stole the show. Literally.
Eddie: And that's our cue to go. Hit our music.
(As Foley stammers, the two men saunter to their car and drive to the back, celebrating the whole way.)
(We cut backstage to the highlight reel. Leticia and Jericho interview the Gymini, who reiterate that they did not take out the Road Warriors. Jake tells Leticia that officials in that arena found a camera that actually could have observed the attack and are combing through the hours of footage to find it.)
Rey Mysterio and RVD v Psychosis and Christopher Daniels
(RVD starts off with Daniels. Daniels taunts him with a test of strength. At first it looks like RVD will do it, but he hits a nasty kick to the face instead. He staggers Daniels with punches and kicks back to his corner where Psychosis tags himself in. Not letting up, RVD grabs the new man and launches him over the ropes before delivering a dropkick to his face.)
JR: We are seeing a different RVD tonight. More focused and intense.
Tenay: He's probably still sore from the unwanted attention to his baby makers last night.
(He gives Rey the tag. Flying over the top, he takes out Psychosis then runs over to drop Daniels off the apron. As he comes back, Psychosis pulls him into the ropes and then hammers away. Using quick tags, the two men dominate Rey, preventing him from getting to his corner. After Psychosis hits a top rope leg drop on a rising Rey, Daniels comes in with an Angel's Wings. As the two rush RVD, Edge's music hits. Both men turn to the stage, giving RVD the opportunity to drop kick both into the ropes. A groggy Rey bounds off and hits a double 619. RVD hits a frog splash, and lets Rey get the pin on his enemy.)
JR: And here comes the man himself. Not letting them celebrate....even if he is the reason they won.
Tenay: He is pointing to RVD, and to the No Way Out sign. I think we know exactly why he has been doing this, JR. He wants his shot at RVD's Wrestlemania spot.

X Division Surprise Challenge
Sabin: After my successful defense against two of the greatest champions of all time...
JR: Oh, not this crap again.
Tenay: Let the man speak, JR. I can't wait to see what we have in store tonight.
Sabin: I have decided that there is only one man who can help me top that. Tonight, I put my title on the line against my good friend, Alex Shelley.
JR: Oh, boy, more BS theater.
Tenay: Are you denying that Alex Shelley is a real competitor?
JR: Not at all....but I know he won't put it all on the line against Sabin.
(Shelley comes out and the two men bow to each other. As the bell rings, they start to trade holds and counter reversals. But, after a few moves, Shelley screams and falls to the ground holding his leg. Sabin quickly checks on him, then rolls him up for the three.)
Tenay: Oh, man. I hope Alex Shelley isn't hurt! That looked nasty.
JR: You have got to be kidding me. You're buying this?
(Sabin helps Shelley to his feet, as he feigns disappointment. Before the charade can go any further, Shark Boy's music hits.)
Shark Boy: For all your talk about bringing honor and respect back to the X Division, all you have done is make it a joke. I worked too damned hard to make the title that you are disrespecting into worthless tin. No more. I talked to Foley, and you will earn your stripes at No Way Out, or I will face someone else at Wrestlemania.
Sabin: I don't have to face you yet. It's not time.
Shark Boy: No, I had someone better in mind. You screwed him out of his shot at Bound For Glory. But now, you will face him, one on one at No Way Out. Your opponent is Amazing Red. And your special guest referee, is ME.
Tenay: No, you can't do this to the champ!
JR: It's about time. Sabin is going to get exactly what he deserves. It doesn't get bigger than this.
(We cut backstage, where Ted Dibiase is smiling with Leticia Cline.)
MDM: Last night, we had a true war to determine who would be my chosen champion, and who would go away. I personally watched this classic unfold to see where my empire was headed. And now, Ladies and gentlemen, I wish to present to you, for the first OFFICIAL time, my new protege, the Million Dollar Maven.
(Maven comes on screen in a brand new four piece suit, with top hat and gold trim on the lapels.)
MDM: As you can see, I have given him the finest new threads. And, to your right, you can see that I got him a brand new limo, so we can travel in style. My protege must look like a million dollars at all times, so, I also had a brand new belt made just for him.
(He hands Maven a giant gold and silver M, made out of hundreds of tiny dollar signs, and with a giant green dollar sign intermeshed with the M. Across the middle, it has Maven written in Rubies.)
MDM: Let no one forget who the future of this business is. Everytime we see this belt, we know a champion of champions is among us. And, ladies and gentlemen, this is just the beginning. There is so much yet to come.
(We have a video recap of Goldberg taking out Undertaker at Main Event.)
Goldberg v Kane
(Before the two competitors come out, Umaga is lead out by a dozen armed security guards and put into a cage sitting at ringside.)
JR: If you are wondering why we are doing this, it is because this match is our main event of the evening, and Umaga's bad habit of attacking Kane is not going to ruin it. We are keeping him under lock and key to allow the match to proceed.
(Kane comes out first and Goldberg runs out behind him, attacking him on the stage. The two men begin brawling around the arena. As they approach the cage, Umaga goes wild trying to get out. Both men get tossed into the various obstacles around the ring-the steps, the table, etc. Goldberg goes for a spear, but Kane moves, letting him meet the ring post.)
JR: These two men are already tearing our arena apart, and the match hasn't even started yet.
Tenay: But that misstep by Goldberg may have ended it early.
(The two men finally make their way to the ring. They brawl, each getting the upper hand. Each counter gets more vicious. Every time Kane gets the upper hand, Umaga goes insane, especially when he busts Goldberg open. Goldberg tries for a spear, but catches a big boot for his troubles. As Kane lifts him for a Tombstone, Umaga ends up snapping the lock on the door. Distracted, Kane lets Goldberg slip free. He hits the spear and the third try and hits a vicious jackhammer. Holding the ropes, Goldberg gets the pin.)
JR: It wasn't pretty. But we didn't expect ballet.
Tenay: One can only imagine how vicious it could've gotten had Kane not been distracted.
(Security grabs Umaga and keeps him from the ring and Kane slams his fists against the mat in frustration.)

(Scott Hall comes out to celebrate his win.)
Hall: Vegas put the odds on Samoa Joe for Main Event. All the armchair warriors on Twitter said that Joe was a lock to win. The boys in the back were rooting for him. Everyone KNEW that Samoa Joe was about to be WWF Champion. But, once again, the Bad Guy crushed Samoa Joe's hopes. He ended the dreams of millions of little boys and girls that it was Joe's time. I silenced the critics and proved I am the one real champion in this company. Now...
(Joe's music hits.)
Joe: Scott Hall. You cowardly little snake. You and I are not done. I want....
Hall: (singing) Joe went out to the ball game. He got a shot at the belt. Now he demands another chance. But I am tired of seeing his face. Had one, two, three strikes-he's out, from the title game.
Joe: Oh, you have jokes. Let's see how funny it is when I break you into three pieces.
Hall: I'll put it in little words. So you can understand. You get no more shots. I am done with you. It's time to move on to better things...I'd say bigger, but you're about as fat as they get. Now, move along, Fat Joe. The champ has more important things to do....
(HBK's music hits.)
HBK: Did I hear you say that YOU are the only real champ? Perhaps you missed it, but I have a title too. And, well, I seem to remember being the only one standing at Main Event. So, you know....
Hall: Let's fix that right now.
(He proceeds to hammer away at Michaels. As HBK is staggered, he clotheslines him over the ropes. He falls to the floor and Hall drops after him, hitting a double axe handle on his neck. The two men start brawling through the arena. Joe is left behind. Furious, he turns to leave and gets speared from behind. As he writhes in pain, Goldberg stands over him.)
Goldberg: Just in case that wasn't clear, Samoa Joe, YOU'RE NEXT.
(Fade to black.)
(As the band tunes up, another sound is heard. Sirens blare and the arena is filled with flashing lights. “Holla if ya hear meeeee....” And the nWo music fills the arena as everything goes to black and white. Steiner storms out.
