So I just recently got back into collecting due partly to the AEW lines and the other part is WWE's UE line. I love the mobility points on these sets but my question is why do AEW figures with clothing (rubber and plastic both - i.e. Bucks, Hager, Sammy) have plastic coverings in between the garments and the figure itself? Is this to prevent staining?

Prevent staining and paint chipping What’s ironic about that is how the plastic covering didn’t prevent staining on the Jake Hager figure from Unrivaled Series 6. Lol My Jake Hager has some pretty bad staining on the shoulder and some dings and scratches on various limbs. Not great, but I found it at retail and can’t really complain.

Actually exactly why I asked. I got the Bucks, Hager and Sammy G the other day and only Jake Hager had staining on the shoulder UNDER the plastic lol. Just took some acetone and a q tip to it but still was curious how they were there to prevent an issue that was still present

That’s the purpose in theory. Sometimes they miss the mark especially on Hager
