I've been away from the hobby for a few months as there wasn't anything I was excited about but imagine we should be seeing some more line-ups soon with some top names - when are we expecting these to be announced?

I wouldn't expect any new pic besides Unrivaled 8 and Ringside Exclusive Britt Baker before Revolution

Jazwares/ Jeremy are really killing all the hype this line had. It was BOOMING at the start and is expected to die down after the initial hype, but they have done a terrible job with reveals, showings, line ups etc.
Sure everyone collectively agrees the kids in Instagram is annoying but he does more for this line with the leaks than the own freaking company. Without his leaks I’d have lost complete interest in this line already.
Brings back me memories of the empty promise jakks days.

We have Unrivaled 8/9 and Unmatched 2/3/4 so that should take us until around April in terms of the pattern Ringside shipping
Like others have said Revolution weekend should be the next reveal

I would have gotten Sting regardless, but wanted to see pics of Tay before ordering her.

All Jeremy does is post random questions on Twitter and saying random wrestlers look toyetic. You never hear him talk who’s in upcoming lines, what attires to expect, post prototypes or anything. Plus some of the lineups and waves just suck. Like I know you gotta have some repaints and all but S7 & S8 suck tbh. Jesus this line is absolutely ice cold rn and it doesn’t help we only get figures once every 3 months or so and alot of times they’re underwhelming. Like my biggest wants are updated Shida and Riho and I guarantee I won’t get it until 2024

They can only do so many reveals, showing and line ups. Even if they announced the next 5 right now with pictures, people would be upset a month from now that they don't have more.

A major part of the issue is that they did a huge bulk reveal of multiple wave lineups awhile back and then have hardly revealed anything since. You gotta space this stuff out so you keep people on the hook.

Not even that -- those were renders. I bet just showing the protos would get people excited.
Jazzwares is really dropping the ball on this line

I also don't get why people need to be constantly excited. Sure, it's nice to get excited about news but that wears off fast. So just get excited when figs are about to come out. I don't need to constantly be excited about Punk's figure to know I'm going to buy it. A proto wouldn't hold people over for months because they'll just demand more and complain that they aren't getting figures minutes after pre-ordering them.

You gotta space this stuff out so you keep people on the hook. How much space do they need to do to keep people happy? A line every few weeks for figures that won't be made for 9-12+ months? I mean, you've seen how dead this board has gotten. Compare that to how much people talk about AEW itself. You can act like it's entitlement, but I work in marketing, and I can tell you that the world has socialized people to expect constant engagement from companies, especially in niche hobbies. If you're not doing that, people get restless. When people get restless, they spend their money on other things.
And let's be real, this line lives and dies largely on people's love of AEW, not so much the line itself. There's a gap in quality and consistency between this and their largest competitor -- they just don't have the resources Mattel does. They can't compete in quantity, they don't have the level of scanning and sculpting that Mattel does, they've released a lot of horrorshow figures. What they have is a property that people are committed to, and a roster of wrestlers that people are excited about. You can't just announce 3-5 lineups at once and then leave people hanging for months, especially with manufacturing and distribution being such a mess for everyone right now. You breadcrumb the leaks. You leave hints. If you can't be shipping out new product as regularly as Mattel, you keep people invested with new info. Since one of the biggest draws of this line is the amount of debuts they can push out, they always have something new to talk about. There's no good reason to announce 10-15 First Time in the Line wrestlers at once like they've done. That Dark Order wave has 5 totally new figures, one of whom was probably the most-requested person in the line at that point - you could've gotten weeks of teases and reveals out of that one wave.
I do think they're doing a smart thing with accessory packs, Amazon exclusives, and Ringside exclusives. Make the most out of the limited resources you have with easy repaints and special packaging. (The Jericho with the wardrobe changes seems like a great format to get out refreshes of wrestlers with elaborate entrance gear, like Shida.) And that's my point - making the most out of your limited resources includes how much information you give people.

I'd mostly agree. It's not just the bulk reveals - Mattel does that and it's a format that most seem to enjoy. But they dropped 4-5 months worth of lineups, but some of those waves were literally just lineups - no renders or samples. And then when the samples do drop, it's consistently been well after leaks appear online and the "studio" shots haven't been great. They've done VERY well with traction on non-figure platforms - I've seen Jazwares AEW content regularly popping up on Reddit and some other sites that can draw in non-collectors. And they've made smart moves with the accessory packs, exclusive repaints, etc from a reuse standpoint. But I don't think the marketing on those items has been up to par. And I'm not crazy about the RSC exclusives being $40-60 items. There's a place for those, but I'd also like to see maybe more niche figures closer to the WWE RSC price point of $20-27. Maybe we're debating too much - the line seems to still be on fire at retail anywhere I've seen, and RSC prices are still strong on most figures. So the sales seem to be there, which means consumer demand is there. But there hasn't been much to discuss on this board. We can only all nod our heads in agreement that the FTR scans sucked so many times before there isn't much to talk about. The LJN figures seem to be selling at retail, but it hasn't seemed to generate much conversation. And we still don't know much about their plans for luminaries since the first one is a current attire. I'm hoping they can course correct some in 2022, even if only for the sake of conversation. And there should be plenty to discuss - first figures of Punk and Danielson, hopefully Owen and other luminaries, and some cool exclusives and playsets.

You're trying to hate on me -- but it's called marketing, my friend.
Look at every other toy company -- they do it. Look at all major movies -- they do it. A steady stream of excitement builds interest and increases sales.
Just dropping a movie trailer and then releasing it does not. The same applies to action figures.
