Hello Wfigs. For all my music heads out there, especially in your latter 20s and older, do you think it would be possible to take a band that didn't make it big years ago (ex: Pay the Girl, Black Lab, etc.), but that played the late 90s/early 00s type pop rock, for example, and break that specific record to a new audience now? For those of us that know those hidden gems, and just how awesome and meaningful they were, would it resonate the same with today's youth, or whomever listen to contemporary radio stations these days? Could you actually make the old band finally big? With today's popular music being so, um, sonically bombarding, I think that heart and melody would reign supreme again. It truly is timeless....or I am just stuck in a mindset of when it was and still is to me.
It was just an interesting thought I had. Enjoy all.

A band that I would have to pick is a death metal band from the UK called Ten Masked Men. It's a death metal band that covers pop songs. As stated in the band's name, there are ten members in the band and they all wear some sort of ski mask. Ten Masked Men was never signed to a major record label, and they mostly play at underground metal clubs in the UK. They cover pop songs in Death Metal perfectly. They know how to turn an iconic pop song into a melodic death metal song. Ten Masked Men covers a wide range of artists such as Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Ricky Martin, Frank Sinatra, Cab Calloway, The Village People. A staple on all of their albums and EP's is a cover of a James Bond theme. They don't release new albums that often but they really should be taken seriously as a band. They should be signed to some sort of metal record label. What Ten Masked Men does is an art form. I live in the USA, and the only reason I know of this band is because a friend of mine showed me YouTube videos of their songs. I haven't seen my friend in years but I thank him for showing me those videos during my computer class at college.

Given it is death metal covering pop, maybe a station that covers various genres of current music?
