I got my appendix removed in an emergency surgery yesterday. I woke up to pee around 2am and after immediately had a sharp pain on my right side of my stomach, around my upper thigh and pelvis. Waited at the hospital for 4 hours before being seen, was there 7 total. Turned out I had appendicitis. Very inflamed, it wasn't busted but they said if I waited any longer it would.
How many of you had this happen and what was your experience like?

I'm not kidding with this.
My balls hurt so incredibly much. It was the worst pain I had ever felt (up to that point in my life). I had literally no other symptoms. I went to the ER since it hurt so bad. They did tests and found nothing. Then out of the blue the doctor was like your appendix is about to burst. So they rush me into surgery. I woke up and the ball pain was completely gone.
I still have no idea what the hell that was all about.

I had to have emergency surgery on my 29th birthday to remove my gallbladder. My parents took me out for dinner the night before, and I guess that was just the straw that broke the camel's back. I woke up at 2am and drove myself to the hospital because I wasn't letting my pregnant (at the time) wife anywhere near the downtown ER at that hour. Four hours in triage waiting for an ultrasound tech led to me getting whisked right away to surgery.

I had mine removed when I was 13 years old and was in the hospital for a few days. Very sore and I had to learn how to walk again, couldn't cough or laugh and after the hospital I wasn't allowed to do any physical activity for about 3 weeks.
My worst pain by fair is when the nurse came into the room and pulled out this circular thing where they cut me open that was where my appendix use to be and yanked it out of me.

Having it removed or having it perforate runs in my dad's side of the family, only the men, all at around age 50 have had it happen so it'll likely happen to me once I reach that age. Glad you're all good, hope for a speedy recovery!

Had mine taken out in 5th grade. Remember not being able to run, jump, etc for about a week. At 35 I'm sure I'd be bedridden for a month.

Nope, but give it time. I've had my wisdom teeth removed, gall bladder removed, left knee scoped, hernia repaired, a handful of colonoscopies, toenails removed twice, a few stitches, a few broken fingers & probably a couple of (or more) concussions.

I’ll probably die from my appendix bursting and me writing off the pain as a hangover symptom. lol

The worst I've is a colonoscopy, and that wasn't even bad once they give you the injection. Went in to the room for it then next thing I know I'm waking up in the ward. The worst part was the drink you need to take the night before to flush out your system, that crap was bad!

I feel sorry for you. It is a very strong pain after the operation and even on the first day I couldn’t get up on my own. I also have a scar but I read on Canadian pharmacy that it can be smeared with a special cream that will help to make the scar almost invisible. Now I'm fine and I'm sure that when my stomach hurts it's not the appendix. After this incident, I began to pay more attention to nutrition. I hope you are well!
