I'm grumpy, I'm old & I have opinions.
Spiderman 2 was ruined by the awful casting & acting of Alfred Molina as Dr. Octopus. Worst dialogue? The effing stupid rubber band joke.
This sounds like a joke a priest says & the congregation is forced to do the "polite laugh".
The Force Awakens/The Rise of Skywalker/ The Last Jedi was ruined by Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron. Stupid name. No one likes a continuous smart ass.
I'll try to think of more, but I have to go yell at a cloud.
The Conquerors. John Wayne as Genghis Khan. Yep. The iconic cowboy & All-American Marine played the Mongolian Genghis Khan. I still don't know if he dod it as a joke.

Considering the Godfather trilogy is filled with award nominated and winning performances and some of the best actors of that generation, Sofia Coppola sticks out less like a sore thumb than one with gangrene that needs immediate and urgent amputation.

Jared Leto as Joker in any of the films. Leto is a solid actor but he just wasnt going to get it done and then the look that he was settled with on top of the script was the nail in the coffin. Ill always put him last in the list of live action Jokers

Was about to post this, but you beat me to it. In fairness, Wynona Ryder was originally casted, but she got really sick like the day before filming and had to pull out. She would have made a world of difference imo. And had they not low-balled Robert Duvall, he would have reprised Tom Hagen. If Ryder and Duvall had been part of it, that movie may have been right on par with the first two. I love you.

I wouldn’t say the movie was ruined by it but Danny DeVito fit the profile better & should’ve played Boss Hogg in the Dukes of Hazzard movie rather than Burt Reynolds, who instead should’ve played Rosco

Molina as Doc Ock was ok with me but Raimi playing one of Marvels finest villains for sympathy wrecked that movie for me completely.

I'm grumpy, I'm old & I have opinions may be one of the best starts to a thread I've ever seen.
I actually just rewatched Spiderman 2 the other night and I think it's the best one out of all 3. I don't think Molina as Dr. Octopus ruins the movie but I can see why you wouldn't like him. He's not very charismatic and he doesn't have a wide range of emotion but in his defense, I feel like the character itself isn't that interesting. I never read the comic books but any adaptation of Doc Ock I've seen in Spiderman cartoons was usually forgettable. That's probably why he was usually shoved in with the Sinister Six.
I think Thomas Haden Church as Sandman in the third movie was worse casting. How are you playing a character that can shape shift into sand and still be so uninteresting?

Here's my personal opinion on whom I think was miscast, some might upset people, again this is just who I felt was miscast
Kristin Stewart-Snow White & the Huntsman Jennifer Lawrence-Mystique Zazie Beats-Domino Scarlett Johansson-Black Widow (she's neither a redhead, or European & can't do any accents other than her own IMO, don't really enjoy her performances either) Chris Evans-Steve Rogers (I feel the late Paul Walker would've been a better fit) Hugh Jackman-Logan (Too tall, too lean, too pretty, not hairy enough, didn't help he had bad writing for most of those movies IMO. Technically he never played Wolverine as he never wore the costume & no the black suits don't count) Gal Gadot-Wonder Woman (Too skinny & clearly can't act either, that's why a lot of the cast that work with her are talented enough to cover her lack of ability) John Boyega-Finn (Just don't like him in general, I also felt his character was just unlikable) Ben Affleck-Batman (Looked very bloated) Jared Leto-Joker (Bad redesign, bad writing & bad performance, all big no nos) Will Smith-Deadshot (It's just Will Smith being himself, egos can cause problems for films at times) Tom Hardy-Max Rokitansky (He can't seem to keep the accent properly & I feel is too buff to be a survivor in a wasteland) Zoe kravitz-Catwoman (I'm guessing it's a homage to the 60s show, with the multiple Catwoman cast, yes I know the film's not out yet, but I've never liked her in anything I've seen)

I actually liked Molina as Doc Ock, and I even liked the take on it because even as a giant comic nerd, I'm not necessarily a purist, but I can understand why people didn't like it.
On the Raimi Spider-Flicks, I didn't really like Topher Grace as Eddie Brock. Part of that is a purist mentality, I guess (so f*ck my leading statement LOL), but I've never pictured Eddie as such a weasel.
I thought Famke Janssen made for a really dry Jean Grey. I guess it's kind of a dry character to begin with, but I thought she was one of the least interesting parts of the earlier X-Films.
Kind of an odd one, but I thought the weakest part of The Social Network was Justin Timberlake as Sean Parker. I have a hard time seeing Justin Timberlake in anything without first seeing Justin Timberlake, but it detracted even heavier here having come up in the Napster age and being really familiar with Parker and how little he shares in common with Timberlake's portrayal. Didn't ruin the movie - it's one of my favorites in recent memory (I only caught it last year) - but definitely a low point of an otherwise great movie.

Yea I had a hard time getting into Eric Forman supposed to be a major villain in Spidey 3.
Jared Leto as Joker was a good mention. I cant remember not getting into the Joker character in any format (movie or otherwise) but his just didnt do it for me. Trying way to hard to be “edgy” imo.
My personal addition is Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. Seemed like a horrible casting choice from the start and the two movies he was in just confirmed everyone’s suspicions.

I will not tolerate Alfred Molina slander of any sort. lol Don't make me get my oatmeal spoon. That's a paddlin'. Rebecca Gayheart in Urban Legend. So to be crazy, you just have to frizz out your hair & put on heavy eye makeup? Hmm. Anyone who guest starred on Night Court. Good lord, the acting on that show (not including the main characters) was atrocious! There were only 2 reasons to watch that show: Markie Post.

Thomas Jane as the Punisher. Anything Madonna was cast in. Tyler Perry in Gone Girl Shia LeBouf in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Jake Lloyd in the Phantom Menace. Overall The Phantom Menace was terrible. Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka. His version came off as a Michael Jackson type person. Emma Watson as Belle from the live action Beauty and the Beast. She couldn't sing without Autotune. Richard Pryor in Superman III Michael Caine in Jaws 4
