A lot of stores in my area are having Christmas in July sales & it got me thinking about the holiday season early, in particular the movies ….I mean THE one that you HAVE to watch every year during the official Christmas season …..Mine is Home Alone 2 - Lost in New York….I seen it in the theater when it was brand new & loved it…. I watch it 2 or 3 times every year ….the holiday just doesn’t seem complete without it…..what’s your favorite of all time if you have one?

I don't really have one I have to watch, but the holiday feels a little more complete if I get Planes, Trains, & Automobiles in around Thanksgiving, and then some variety of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, A Muppet Christmas Carol, and Miracle on 34th Street (1994) in before Christmas.

Fun story: I downloaded this from piretesbey (I spelled that wrong because it's likely censored here, but you understand...I also do not recommend it and will get to that reason momentarily) and popped it on and watched it with my mom one night. Two days later we get a letter in the mail--a citation basically for downloading the movie which was copywrited. So a lesson to anyone looking for Trading Places...don't use the internet to find it. Edit: great movie, though! I love early Eddie Murphy. His standup from (around?) that time period was just great too. |

I just love John Candy. Uncle Buck feels like a movie that could fit any season. In fact, I honor Uncle Buck for Xmas in July month's Official Movie. |

Jingle All the Way, Christmas Vacation, and Home Alone are my trinity. Die Hard and Gremlins probably rounds out my must watch top 5. Love Actually is one of my wife's favorite movies ever. So we watch that every year.
My kids love Christmas. My daughter watches that Mickey Twice Upon a Christmas movie on Disney+ like everyday right now. My son loves the Home Alone and Santa Clause movies. So we watch all of those throughout the year. Polar Express, too, and they both love a Nightmare Before Christmas.
There are no rules in our household with this stuff. I love Halloween and Christmas, and both could alternate months all year round as far as I'm concerned.

i remember family channel playing christmas in july movies and shows. I remember especially frostys 4th of july or whatever it was called. The one where he goes to the circus.
