Mattel WWE marketing manager Steve Ozer provided the following update on this weekend’s pre-orders. Of note, efforts are being made to get the remaining inventory of WWE Ultimate Edition Hulk Hogan and Jeff Hardy figures up for pre-order on Amazon.com.

you guys understand pre-orders mean theres NO INVENTORY in the warehouse, they are just taking orders up front....but they also cant have an unlimited amount of inventory, because scalpers who jump on pre-orders would just get more than they could even make. they have to cut it at a certain number.
once these get made and shipped there will be THOUSANDS of them. pre orders will be shipped and the rest of the inventory will be loaded into the system. early Fall you'll be able to go on and order both of these figures whenever you want for a time.
the problem with this situation is PATIENCE. and nobody has it.

Not gonna lie, I bought a big john studd and ebay and I'm already regretting it. I didn't pay much more than retail but I wish I'd just been patient...everything besides the sdcc has to be mass produced. The Hollywood Hogan UE is STILL on ringside. They have to know the demand another UE Hogan figure will command.

I agree that no one has patience but that is only part of the problem. If the Hogans, Slaughters, They live Pipers, Hardys were all up for a few days, heck for a few hours there would be so many happy collectors. I feel Mattel has really soured people. I think that is being voiced here on the forums and even showing on some level in the crowdfunding project as the excitement level has dropped.

We dont need an exact number. Just, yes they will be abundant or no, they are limited.
It just comes down to the simple fact collectors don't wanna get screwed by some douchebag scalper who will sell it for $100-200 for a $30 figure.
Mattel's history of exclusives and tge secondary market and accessibility have proven this time and time again.

Mattel needs to do a better job. These pre-oreders should indicate more stock is needed. It would be nice if Mattel communicates better. The fact is, we don't know IF more pre-orderes will be put up. I played the wait and see game with the Rock and lost.
I am NOT paying 200 for a Rock figure. Same with Hogan. I am sure there are number crunchers in MAttel doing shady things for a reason. All companies limit the initial supply to create demand, but sometimes they don't meet it. Check NECA and Mezco.

Without getting into the anger aspect of your post, the ultimate you described is the figure everyone wants and probably the one they will never actually make. At this point, I’m convinced that big companies like Mattel and Hasbro purposely avoid completely nailing tent pole characters like Wolverine and Batman and Hogan so that they can continue to make money off redos, variants and improvements. When they get so many second tier characters precisely correct on the first pass, you have to assume it’s because they know they’re only getting one crack at that character. You can get people to double, triple, octuple dip for Hogan based on one new accessory, so why give everything up front? Definitely not disagreeing with that, but to be fair they literally just revealed the Kane that everyone has been wanting since day one. This is basically the Kane equivalent of the theoretical Hogan. Although not quite as big of a star, Kane is a huge enough star in his own right, and this look is the one that people have been clamoring for. That said, I’m sure that they will release similar Kanes in the future that will still sell. Considering that people who would buy multiple Hogans would do so whether or not any were perfect, anyone chasing the golden dragon will just never buy one. The rationale makes sense, but if the outcome is the same I’m not sure it’s super effective since all it’s doing is pissing people off and driving people away. There’s a whole thread associated with people who are almost at the end of their rope with Mattel for a variety of reasons. Though I doubt all would follow through, some definitely will stop. I can only speak for myself, but I quit for what I thought was the last time several years ago, only returning during COVID to do Instagram reviews out of boredom. A little good will would go a long way in at least allowing us to think that they care about something other than money. It may be ridiculous, but I can dream. |

Like others have said, a lot of us played the “I’ll wait” game with the Amazon Exclusive Rock and we’re kicking ourselves now. These Ultimate Editions have become a hot commodity in the wrestling figure collecting community. People will make as much profit from these as they can. eBay, Mercari, social media “raffles”… all forms of flipping for a profit. It’s up to the buyers to stop paying these amounts, but if you don’t… you risk not ever getting said item. |

Amazon UK just had Jeff Hardy UE for 31.99. I'm not sure if Hogan came in stock or not.
I'm in the US. Saw a post about it 3 minutes ago. Checked my app and still says unavailable.
Could be coming back up for preorder soon in the states.

I’m glad I couldn’t snag the hogan. I got the Hardy though. But yea happy I didn’t get the hogan. After looking at it and the new survivor Series hogan. I went with that one instead.

Properly meaning readily available and not 30 second windows here and there. When and if I know legitimate info, you’ll know. I won’t withhold that info and wait for a question about it.  There's still an "if" (he mat not get that info from Amazon), but if he does, he will let us know. |

Fyi, y'all can pre-order from Amazon UK an will ship to USA. Only Jeff is able to be ordered. For last 3 hours. So seems like only US having a scalping issue.
Have had no issues before ordering from Amazon Germany, just takes an additional week or 2 to get here.
