Forgot to post about it but the second wave of Savage World Cats are coming from Funko. It’s surprising to say the least since the first wave was all clearanced out pretty much everywhere but I’ll take it. EE and BB both have them up for preorder for Q4. This is probably going to be the last hurrah for the Savage World line too. It's going to depend on how well these sell, and I have to say, I'm not thinking the line is going to be saved. I don't know if the Super 7 deal is what led to the cancellation of the Conan figures, but I'd have felt a little more sure that those would have sold better than this Thundercats set. I know the Zorn figures wasn't well received, the Mortal Kombat figures should have been in their classic attires, and the horror figures probably would have looked better if they hadn't "super heroed" them up, but I dug most of what was released so far and would have liked to see them take a crack at some other 80's properties. I think Silverhawks, Bravestarr, Galaxy Rangers, Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future, Sectaurs, Thundarr, Ghostbusters, and Street Sharks would have fit in with this style very well. I think they thought the DC stuff would be a hit and it seemed to be a miss for most. I picked up Batman, Joker and Green Lantern but it was all on clearance. I think small waves of stuff like Cats or something like Bravestarr is right on the money of what these should be. Brands from a time that can hit that He-man beat for people. Conan was pretty perfect, as well. The horror ones were weird imo. The time period is right, so why not just make regular versions to mix in with the rest of the 80s stuff? Zorn is just too niche of a property imo. Then they had QC issues, Panthro in particular, but the animal rides for the DC stuff got toasted too in reviews. It really is a cool concept. I always wanted my Cats and He-man figures to be scaled with each other when I was a kid. That said, they didn’t seem like they knew where to aim it. The MK stuff was really just mind numbing on why they weren’t original looks. Street Fighter all turned out awesome but I need Guile and Ken before I go in on those. Which is the other thing with Funko is what is the long term commitment level. I don’t have the solution, but I’d love for them to keep going. Especially with properties that haven’t gotten figure treatment since the originals. |

Found most of the second wave of Savage World Thundercats at FYE. Bought Tygra and Cheetara to finish the cats, but passed on Monkian for right now, and they didn't have Jackalman.

Something about Conan seems off, the other 3 figures are done really well. Will most likely end up ordering some of these. Doom's head looks amazing.

It’s a little too squished under the helmet, I think. I pre ordered Doom but I’m going to wait on a second release for Conan. I just want the poster art version of him, and this one doesn’t do it for me. Andre is a miss for me too. I’m not a big Andre fan in general but the heads range from a bit off to not even close. I like that S7 is doing wrestling other than New Japan but we have better from Mattel at half the price. |

I wish the Conan was the other one they originally shown without the fur clothes. That one looked much better. The other three look amazing though.

The Conan they showed at power con is from the second movie so I'm hoping that just means they're planning a "Conan the Destroyer" second wave. |

S7 didn't show any new 7 inch figures at comic con. They were supposed to unveil the Thundercats ultimates at that show but something happened and they weren't allowed to show them at the last minute. So they ended up announcing them a week before power con and unveiling them along with ninja turtles and Conan. As far as Conan, they only showed Thorgrim,Rexor and Conan the destroyer. There was a likeness issue with Thulsa Doom so they couldn't show him either. And fast forward to now and they replaced Conan the destroyer with gladiator Conan and everyone is like wtf. |

Super 7 updated on Instagram with an improved head on Conan. Pre-order open until Friday. Its cool to have MOTU, Thundercats, Conan, NJPW amongst others in one scale from 1 company.
Thundercats wave 2 goes up on Jan 6 for pre-order, pics are on super 7 Instagram they look pretty good.

Pre-orders are live for Cats wave 2. I ordered Tygra and Mumm-Ra through S7. I pre-ordered Grune and a second Tygra through Big Bad so I can just pay for those down the road. I can't justify another Pumyra even with corrected height. I wasn't expecting the $60 tag on Mumm-Ra but I do like that they made him bigger. I also got my Savage World Cats from Amazon. I love them to death. Seriously getting to open Tygra and Monkian made me feel about 6 years old.    |
